UPDATE: It’s out! I’m about to watch it! Let’s continue the discussion here.
So last night Jordan Owen made the announcement on Twitter:
Clearly, all didn’t go according to plan, because the video wasn’t released later that night. But apparently its release is IMMINENT.
Alas, it won’t be free on YouTube. It will cost $3.99 to rent on Vimeo, $7.99 to own.
I will keep refreshing this page until it appears, and then I will watch it so you don’t have to!
I’ll update this post as soon as it’s out. (Assuming I’m not napping.) And will follow it with a review, of sorts.
Feel free to post anything you hear in the comments below.
In other news, “street philosopher” Justine Tunney — one of the people Davis Aurini interviewed for the “film” — is pestering Owen on Twitter for no clear reason.

I’m awake! And I’m going to go watch the damn thing.
Let’s continue the discussion here:

That is absolutely fantastic, SFHC!
@SFHC
Oh, don’t pretend you don’t know your mock book cover is super fucking awesome because it’s clearly is.
This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. So far ANY sort of criticism leveled at the sarkeesian effect or at these two bozos has been met with “well we can’t say anything or judge until the final product is released”. It is finally time to feast on their tears of disappointment as they realize that this failure of a documentary will do nothing to further their cause!
(I also had a hilarious argument with some dumbass trying to tell me that “we gotta separate the art from the artist”. After I pointed out the obvious hypocrisy with that statement in regards to the deluge of abuse Anita Sarkeesian from the so-called ‘critics of her work’, he tried to deny it. To which I casually mentioned “yeah, it’s not like anyone has claimed that Anita is not a gamer as a means to discredit her work!”. Needless to say, he was silent after that :P)
@A Hermit
I believe I recognize your avatar from the comment section of Jordan’s youtube video (The one where he’s urging his followers not to give money to Aurini) where I spent some time ‘engaging’ with GGers and MRAs . If you are that person, then I tip my hat to you for knocking some sense into those idiots! You were awesome!
@mike
Heh, and as per usual all they managed to accomplished was to prove themselves wrong. I’m so pleased that the GamerGate movement is treated with the same level of respect as conspiracy theorists. To which I broadly proclaim:
“Actually it’s about jet fuel ethics in steel beams.”
Whoops, should be “of abuse Anita Sarkeesian received”
@davidknewton
Her Vine clips make the already terrible footage look like a kidnapper’s webcam video of their hostages.
Without context I thought it was a kind of cute afternoon movie project. Now that I know he expected this to win a competition… oy.
SFHC: You are perfect and everything is beautiful.
@Scented Fucking Hard Chairs – Oh shit, that is pure awesome.
SFHC–your genius is beyond words. Holy moly.

So beautiful…
You have to pay to see it?! I will pass, thanks. Where did all the donation money go? Into their pockets I bet. And they have the nerve to call Anita a fraud. At least her videos are free for public viewing and are of a good quality.
Scented Fucking Hard Chairs-That meme is bloody awesome, by the way.
@SFHC
You can take all my monies!!!! All of them!!!!

Does “Not Your Shield” even mean anything any more?
ColeYote: Did it ever? At best it was a #notallmen for marginalized groups that didn’t complain about representation in video games; at worst, it was bunch of white guys creating fake profiles to act as their own shield from criticism.
