Watch this now! Anne Thériault’s “The Feminist In The Wild”

I love it when a plan comes together! Also, when something totally unplanned comes together in an amazing way, as was the case with this video by actor and voice actor D.C. Douglas and animator Rachael Leone, based on a series of tweets from feminist writer Anne Thériault.

As Douglas explains on his website,

While doing auditions from my home studio I stumbled upon tweets from Anne Thériault that began with “narrator.” I couldn’t resist and started recording…

He posted the recording on YouTube, where it took off immediately. So he got Leone on board and she turned it into this lovely little animated film.

Thanks to everyone who sent the link to me! It’s too good not to share with the rest of you.

Really though, didn’t know Douglas was such an avid feminist, really cool to hear.

Everything about this is great! Thank you for sharing it, David.

I got a kick out of the sounds made by the feminists.

I lol’d. This was awesome and a great pick me up. A much needed one. And fun to watch with all the wild life sounds right outside my window.

This feminist must hunt 😀

Oh. My. Katie.

D.C. Douglas is the voice of Albert Wesker in the later Resident Evil games.

I knew I recognized that sexy voice from somewhere.

So, would you say this clip deserves complete global saturation?

… I’ll show myself out.

I think it means that Wesker’s one of those radical feminists who feels the need to wipe the slate clean and start all over with a feminist-friendly god-king. XD

I don’t know whether this is awesome or stupid…

OMG, so much to cackle about. I’m especially fond of the bit about the “ironic” sexist shirt and ugly sweatpants.

Also, happy birthday, Fruitloopsie!

Men’s rights activists aren’t the main prey of feminists since they don’t really have any real world presence outside the Internet. They’re more analogous to chew toys.

@Penguin I believe this refers to Internet Feminists. 🙂

The glans-shaped MRA heads are a nice touch. The Bukowski line nearly made me choke on my beverage from sudden laughter. 🙂

Now “Men’s Rights Activists” will think you want to murder them all!

So cute! I love how the feminist mates with the beta-male. Take that, alpha-as-all-get-out-alpha doggies. We don’t even want to have your cubs. Only beta cubs are acceptable.

I was beginning to feel like I needed to go on a “no-MRA/PUA/misogyny diet” as I was starting feel a little drained and burned out, but this makes it all better.

Wow, why on earth you would do that as a series of tweets when you have a blog. (Anne’s long form stuff is fine, and this one is quite cute, but it would never even occur to me to write this as some 200 separate twitter posts.)

epitome of incomprehensibility

@lightcastle – Some people write Twitter stories or poems. I’m not sure I could write a story that way – at least not if I hadn’t planned what was happening next – but it seems like a good format for comedy where stories are often told in a series of smaller jokes.

Also… so much win! I love it! 🙂

#epitome – I know they do. (I know a few, including Anne) It just never ceases to boggle my mind, though, because I simply find it annoying and difficult to follow. Reading that on twitter I probably would have rolled my eyes at how terrible it was, but pulled together as a script/animation, it’s quite cute.

That was awesome. I cackled. My son loved it too (or should I say my cub).

Happy Birthday fruitloopsie!
