It’s a fundamentally solipsistic worldview: Lesbianism must be about men, because women only exist inasmuch as they affect men. If lesbianism was just a matter of women falling in love with women, it might suggest that women think about things other than men, and that would be nonsensical.
Meanwhile, the whole “alpha”/”beta” nonsense is ultimately a symptom of believing that people’s worth is given by the judgments of others rather than by self-worth and self-respect. This leaves us with the interesting question: if one is both solipsistic (believing that nobody else exists except inasmuch as it influences you) and has an external locus of self-worth (believing that your own worth is determined by other peoples’ opinions)… then where does new information enter the system? Are MRAs just entirely nihilistic?

I have the dubious honor of having witnessed the very thread in which the concept of Chad Thundercock came into existence some years back.
It happened on /r9k/, a very sad board whose userbase largely overlaps with the former PUAhate.com. “Robots”, as the regular posters on /r9k/ call themselves, openly admit to crippling insecurity, poor social skills, unhappiness, self-loathing and lack of success with the sex of their preference. These are all part of the robot identity and board culture.
Chad is the archetypal jock alpha male who is supposedly desired by all “females”, who in their simple herd-mindedness are wired to only want the same men all other women want. Chad is the nemesis and counterpart of robots. There can be no robot without the contrasting Chad, and no Chad elevated to superior status without the inferior robots. The name was chosen because the people who happened to be there agreed it appears to be overrepresented among people who share chadlike characteristics.
Chad makes all lesser men insecure, because if Chad wants your girlfriend, she will happily trade up. No exceptions. Chad is one of the 20% of men who sleep with 80% of women, leaving scraps for average guys. Everything in life comes easy for Chad. He is admired and respected by all. He is a frat guy and a trust fund kid. If he didn’t go to college, he has tattoos, plays in a band or owns a motorcycle.
Chad treats his many concurrent girlfriends with condescending detached benevolence, as if they were children. You know, the way all females secretly want to be treated. He is not a Nice Guy. Chad is the guy women cry to their friendzoned beta orbiters about.
If your girlfriend ever slept with Chad before the two of you met, you will never be able to satisfy her. Your penis is likely smaller than Chad’s, and you’re just not as good or as hot. She’ll be thinking of Chad when she’s in bed with you. She may tell you she loves you, but deep down, she’ll always resent you for not being him. And she’ll likely cheat on you with him, or another Chad.
Sometimes Chad is said to leave a trail of unwed mothers behind, or to mooch off his girlfriends or be violent toward then. This is a misconception and not in line with the general consensus regarding Chad. Chad should never be confused with Tyrone and Jamal, because we all know white guys never do any of these things. White men are not black thugs.
Most robots bitterly hate Chad. Some want to be him. Some admit, grudgingly or not, that he’s a pretty cool guy. Some think he’s a bro and can help you get invited to parties and get laid.

I think that’s been pretty standard among misogynists ever since they realized that lesbianism is a thing, because nothing is more frightening to a “traditionalist” who believes that women are property who have no desires of their own and that their proper “place” is to be abused and taken for granted than the idea that there are women out there who have desires of their own and want to be with people as equals.
So it becomes this whole thing where lesbianism is a choice, because they fear it is a superior choice that any woman who hears about it would leap on in a second. But lesbianism is also a woman trying to pretend to be a man, because “everyone” knows that women don’t have desires and especially not sexual desires and only exists to complement a man, so if a woman is claiming she has sexual desires and agency then obviously she’s playing a game of pretend or “confusion”. And lesbianism is also a temporary phase, because the cold hard rule of “natural order” will remind the woman that she has no real desires other than financial security and being a man’s “helpmeet” (i.e. domestic slave) and so will eventually kowtow to the natural order.
Because if those things aren’t true, then it means that women are people and have desire and have love and are full people and so treating them all as malfunctioning sex and housework vending machines is a dick move.
And all of that is basically to stave off the fear that no woman will have anything to do with the rapists, abusers, and misogynists once they all realize they have a choice in respectful partners (hence also the efforts to corral men who are improving in their treatment of women by attacking them under the standards of toxic masculinity).

It becomes so painfully clear with these clowns that it really all boils down to the idea that they want to believe whatever conspiracy theory will allow them to believe that they don’t need to change or evolve or grow up in any real way. Women are having nothing to do with them. Awareness about sexual orientation and feminism continue to grow and women consistently have less and less truck with the whole “traditionalist” worldview of voluntarily agreeing to be kept by some man because they got knocked up and that’s the only option.
And so they invent a fictional just so biological fantasy to avoid having to adapt to that reality. Oh sure, it may seem like there are happy lesbian couples and feminists in happy relationships and young people viewing us as creepers just because we’re hitting on them when they’re 13, but they’ll all see when they hit the wall at 25 and are forced into their “natural” “biological” roles.

Ugh, yeah, cishet men often get hella creepy about lesbians even when they are ostensibly allies. They were crawling like locusts all over the last Dyke March, petitioning every couple they saw for threesomes while being super creepy and pervy.
It’s probably related to toxic ideas of “alphaness” where a “twu” man will bust through the iron door of sexuality and reveal it to be the cold lie that it is from the raw erotic energy of his manliness. And if that doesn’t work by honest means, well, that’s where corrective rape comes in.
Its gross enough in its pure form, but it also often pairs with the erasure of bisexuality, leading a lot of these guys to be gross partners by basically acting like they lured away a lesbian and the assumption that anyone with self-esteem is a lesbian.
And yeah, it gets twenty times grosser when you’re ace, because now you are a challenge to their “manly” powers.

Because of course it must be a phase, else we’d have to actually respect it and revamp our worldviews to account for it. So no matter what, pretend its a phase, even if it lasts for years. And the media will help by acting as if every bisexual or person running back into the closet is proof that lesbianism especially is a temporary lie.
Ugh, the whole thing is why queer rights and feminism are such a natural fit together, because so much of homophobia is built off the sexist ideas about “roles” and what is allowable in gendered behavior.

I suspect a lot of the women he targets at bars tell him they’re lesbian just to get rid of him, and that’s what he’s really complaining about. In that sense, you could call it a “phase”. One that lasts about five minutes.
I don’t know if this rises to the level of a rules violation, but we usually try to avoid violent revenge fantasies around here. Stick with Lego, and the stepping thereupon. Most of these asshats aren’t really worth the effort of actual violence.

This is a secular re-hash of one of Paul’s letters, actually–he suggested that the women of a particular city had been given over to ‘unnatural desires’ to punish the straight men of the city, who were being weak in their faith. So, yeah, ‘tale as old as time’.

I think you’re all being remarkably charitable about primemale’s “lesbians hit on me all the time” story. I assumed he’s just a teller of tall stories; no shortage of those in the manosphere. Does he also have a totally hot girlfriend, who you’ve never seen him with because she’s from $distant_town?
Many people have said it beautifully here in many ways, so I’m just agreeing and restating by saying:
MRAs are essentially viewing the world as a problem and trying to analyze it with the following illogical conclusions:
1) Everything in society has a hierarchy and I (the MRA) can plug people into slots with deadly accuracy, and it’s valid because I’m not pretending I’m at the top.
2) If I don’t get what I want it’s because I’m not where I want to be on the hierarchy. I’m not going to be able change that, so I’m going to obsess about where I am and why I can’t have what I want.
3) Life used to be perfect for a guy like me because of slut-shaming. I’d get my virgin and she’d be grateful to me and cook for me while I play video games and act superior all the time. Feminism ruined that. Therefore I will band with my brother betas and slut shame en masse as much as possible in order to restore the old awesome way of life.
Notice that nowhere in there does the possibility of thinking that women are people is a thing, because they don’t see anyone as people besides themselves, and even then the viewing is reluctant. They’re resigned to being Betas, not people.
What they don’t understand is that even if this scheme were to work, in the good old days, (outside of the post WW2 boom when the ultra-rich were taxed higher) men like them generally couldn’t afford to have families, and often lived very lonely and financially destitute lives. They need to read some Dickens or Guy de Maupassant. Poor women have always worked their asses off. Their idea of the good old days is a fantasy.
