MRA JudgyBitch: Give me money for a crossbow so I can shoot feminists in the face!

Janet Bloomfield — the slur-spewing A Voice for Men “social media director” better known as JudgyBitch — has launched a rather unique fundraiser on Patreon: In addition to funds to spend on better videomaking equipment, she’s asking her supporters to send her $800 for a crossbow so she can “shoot the feminists in the face.”

JB isn’t joking; she’s an avid bowhunter, and she has her crossbow all picked out.

Of course JB claims that the weapon will only be used in self-defense, in case some angry feminist shows up at her door with an axe or something. But in the video above, posted to her Patreon page, she describes her fantasy of using it to maim or kill a feminist in detail, and with great relish.

She starts waxing poetic about what she calls the “angel of death crossbow” at 8:32 in the video above. Here are some of the highlights.

In this first clip, she describes what she would do to any “little brave feminist” who showed up at her door unarmed but seeking a confrontation.

The tl;dr? She would shoot them in the gut with her crossbow, dead center, in an attempt to sever their spine and leave them paralyzed. “You’re gonna drop,” she says, “and you’re never getting back up again.”

As for those who show up at her door with “a hammer, an axe, a knife, a gun” or other weapon, she promises to shoot them dead without warning. “I would love to do it with that beautiful angel of death crossbow,” she says, with a certain manic glee. “Let’s buy Janet a crossbow so she can shoot the feminists in the face!”

MRAs, male and female, seem to spend an awful lot of time and energy fantasizing about doing great harm to their opponents. But this is the first time I’ve seen one actually set up a Patreon fundraiser so they can buy a deadly weapon.

@Cyberwulf

I KNOW.

That’s what I tell people! I’m a fucking asshole! Do you guys not get that yet or do I have to become MORE of an asshole and shit all over you guys before all of ya get it?

I mean, really, Cyberwulf, do you read ANYTHING I write? I’m the fucking goatse of the forum, the biggest, brownest eye of them all. Of. Them. All.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE MY ASSHOLENESS SERIOUSLY?!

… Apologies, I feel the need to be hypocritical again.

Shut up, Cyberwulf. Just. Shut. Up. All you ever fucking do is post Elam-esque half-veiled threats against MRAs, toss around ableist slurs like free fucking candy, whine about us calling out said ableist slurs, insult and bully regulars, ignore that “Really obvious jokes” are something that exist on this planet just so you have something to yell about, force yourself into the middle of every Goddamn argument going… Have you ever made a worthwhile post? I’m shocked that the others have had the patience to not label you a dumbfuck piece of koala shit troll and boot your ass to the curb yet. I suppose they’re just nicer than I am.

If you want to bully Panda, you have to get through me first. Bring it, troll.

I agree with marinerachel and I think it would be good to have a comment policy that 1 person gets to gently call out an ableist language (maybe by linking o the comment policy) and then everyone else moves on and talks about the topic of the thread.

Are. You. Even. For. Real. Right. Now?

On what planet would this be acceptable for anything other than ableism? Why the fuck does it seem reasonable for random people to saunter in here waving their ignorance of ableism like a fucking flag, with no regard for the harm they cause but then the people harmed by it are expected to take them aside and gently explain to them that it would really mean a whole lot if they could pretty please consider maybe not doing that anymore if it’s not too much trouble?

That’s standard operating procedure for Status Quo Maintenance. “Please, you others, if you must object to my bigotry, do it quietly and demurely so as to enhance my ability to ignore your concerns altogether.”

Also, don’t remember who pointed it out but um, why is it dogpiling for a handful of people to succinctly call out a few ableist comments but NOT dogpiling for as many, if not more, people to crawl out of the woodwork and spew thousands of words at us about how, at some unspecified point in the past, they too were ruthlessly dogpiled despite having allegedly said nothing at all objectionable?

I’ve now been officially welcomed and figured out (maybe) what the heck a copy-paste of my comment on a different post thread was about, now offering an apology for the error on my part.

Just the other day I read a cartoon where some loudbro said something like: “Finally someone who isn’t afraid to say what we idiots are all thinking!” I laughed and laughed.

I don’t think one should be surprised at the “Bat Signal” effect. Of course when someone comes out of lurking or semi-lurking to bring up something that has potentially bothered them for a long time when reading comments, it’s possible that it will encourage other lurkers who agree with lurker #1 to do the same thing. Seems like basic human behavior.

It’s certainly possible that some of these people are just trolls, but I’d like to avoid that assumption. From my own experience as a semi-lurker, I know sometimes the reason why I lurk instead of commenting is because I am in agreement with what has already been said by other commenters, better than I could say it. So I have nothing to add.

In the past this has sometimes caused problems for me (on other blogs/message boards), because when I eventually do post a comment, it’s likely because I find myself disagreeing with the majority of the regulars, and thus I finally have a reason to comment. In that situation, of course I would personally know that I’ve been reading and enjoying the comment section for a long time, and that I’m not trying to be a troll. But other commenters may not necessarily know that I’ve been lurking for a long time and that I generally agree with almost 100% of what’s being said in the comment section. To them it just looks like some random drive-by troll comment.

In that situation, of course I would personally know that I’ve been reading and enjoying the comment section for a long time, and that I’m not trying to be a troll. To them it just looks like some random drive-by troll comment.

This is true and relevant, and is also why we need to jump on bad things constantly whenever people say them.

For every commenter there are how many lurkers? Two? Five? Ten? A hundred? More than one, definitely. The internet is full of lurkers, and as you’ve pointed out, as long as people are saying things that you agree with, you’ll stay silent and agree. As a result, you assume that there are hundreds or thousands of people out there agreeing with whatever is posted.

If someone were to post “I think that people who are lactose intolerant should be euthanised to improve humanity”, and if I were a lurker who read that, then I would be sad because I am lactose intolerant and do not like the thought of being euthanised. If that were the only comment, then I would feel as though the whole commentariat and the larger readership felt that way about me. However, if the very next post were to be someone saying “Yo, fuck you, that’s not acceptable”, then I would feel much more welcome because now the commentariat and readership seem to be on my side. That would make me feel a lot happier and make me want to continue reading a site where people like me are welcomed.

As a reminder, humans feeling happy or sad is literally the only thing that matters. It is not a minor matter.

Commenters like Pandapool and Scented Fucking Hard Chairs (or Jackie and M as I will always think of them) may seem spiky and snarly and scary. That’s because sometimes they are. However, by leaping incessantly on people who say hurtful things, they make our lurkerdom feel like the commentariat isn’t hostile to them and doesn’t tolerate hostility towards them. They therefore create an aura of good feelings and happiness to many which vastly exceeds the spikiness that a few people experience at their hands. Sorry, Jackie. Sorry, M. You two are actually fuzzy-wuzzy happiness extruders, and the more spiky you try to be the more happifying you end up being.

To all new posters: Welcome. You are my fellow human beings, and I love you. But if you fuck with my other fellow human beings, I will have no choice but to demolish you.

dhag85

@EJ

To follow along with your comparison, if a new commenter said “mentally ill people should be euthanised to improve humanity”, I certainly think there’s no amount of profanity or dogpiling that could be considered excessive. I think the current disagreement is a little bit more subtle than that.

For the record, M., Paradoxical Intention, and Jackie are some of my favorite commenters here, and I certainly agree with pretty much every word they’ve said so far in this comment thread. But I also think there is sometimes more dogpiling than they maybe realize, so I welcome the new comment policy and hope it will improve the situation at least slightly.

I also have gone back to lurking for a while. I have been reading everything written since #GlobberGlobber started.

The fact that ableism was called out, not only made me feel welcome, but have made me realize how much things like privilege affect people, and the passion of PoM, PI, M and Jackie, are a huge inspiration to try to become the best human I can be.

I hate it whenever there is a thread of Doom, since my world gets a bit darker, but the fact that the discussion mostly stays there and that the rest of the blog continues gives me hope.

To every one, keep up the good discussions, and may the threads of Doom one day be behind us.

To MRAs, and Had to be Said, I would happily give up a large part of my Lego collection, if not all of it, as long as you step on it.

I think this blog was the first place that actually forced me to think about how often I casually used the word “crazy” to describe things, and luckily, I think I learned about ableism the easy way, by actually paying attention to what other commenters had said about ableism and proof-reading my comments in order to abide the rules, until it became habit.

I think this community gets fierce, especially when SFHC is about, amongst others, and I’ve dished out a couple of sick burns myself (*brushes nails on chest*), but as far as I can tell, it’s never directed at anyone who isn’t behaving like an utter butthole. I think it’s so good to have a small handful of people who are willing to tackle the trolls to the ground before they get a chance to disrupt things further. It makes the rest of us feel bolder commenting and being a part of this community.

And most of all, it keeps this from being just another Sisyphean Basic Feminism 101 For Bad-Faith Pissbabies.

I love you all. (Not you, Had-to-go-and-say-something-foolish. Go cherry-pick some other quotes, asshole).

I think a clear commenting policy is a good idea, but this community just wouldn’t function without our regulars enforcing the rules in thread.

Obviously, abuse is a social good. The Right To Abuse shall not be infringed. If commenters here cannot hurl insults and abuse at each other, the world will be a less enlightened place. This is a given.

The problem is when you unintentionally abuse someone whom you did not intend to abuse. Abuse should be used like a rifle, not a grenade. When you wound someone by calling them “schizo,” you also wound lots of other people you don’t even know, and who you likely would never want to hurt.

Intent does not matter. When straight men insult each other with the word “fa**ot,” it doesn’t matter if they never intended to hurt a gay person. When a gay person overhears the insult, the gay person is reminded that the straight world uses them as an example of the worst thing it is possible to be. That hurts. Probably more than it hurt the straight man who was the target.

Considerate abusers think about the collateral damage of their abuse. They inflict maximum pain on their intended victims while not harming innocent parties.
