Hoping to capitalize on the popularity of its Deep Dream neural network software, Google has announced that starting on Monday it will fold Google Street View into the Deep Dream project. “All images now up on Google Street View will now be processed using Deep Dream,” Google spokeswoman Florilla Panganaban explained. “Deep Dream Street View will allow users to see how many Slugdogs they may encounter in any neighborhood they plan to visit.”
Here are some examples of what to expect when Google makes the big change.
NOTE: Nothing in this post is actually true. BUT THE SLUGDOGS ARE REAL. ALL TOO HORRIFYINGLY REAL. Do note let yourself fall asleep. That is when they come.
It’s okay David. When you feel ready to quit we’ll all be here to support you. YOU CAN DO IT.
All I ever see is dogs, every time someone makes one of these. It’s gotten boring and old, real fast, even by internet standards
Long time reader, first time commenter. But just wanted to say this Deep Dream thing is actually really freaking me out. I would be obliged if there were fewer posts on this subject in the future. Sorry to rain on everyone’s parade but it’s really unpleasant to even glimpse as I try to scroll past the pictures.
Thank you for telling us it’s an Onion.
It’s an Onion, but David hasn’t peeled all the layers yet. What will he find at the center?
There’s nothing stopping Google actually doing this. DeepDream is so popular that the management algorithm will probably instruct Larry Page and co to rerender all images. We’ll all love it then the DeepDream will google Google iteself, and some dogs will emerge actually out your computer.
