MRA Peter Nolan: “Killing women is the only path to justice for men now.”

Peter Andrew Nolan: At war with women
Peter Andrew Nolan: At war with women

Men’s Rights Activists love to “warn” women that they may soon face a day of reckoning if they don’t shape up and start acting the way MRAs think they should. Don’t make men angry, they say; you wouldn’t like us when we’re angry!

Still, most MRAs making these “predictions” at least make a token effort to pretend to be horrified at the notion of men rising up to wreak vengeance upon uppity women. This isn’t what we want, they assure women; it’s just what will happen if you continue to “provoke” men with your bad behavior.

Other MRAs find it impossible to contain their glee; like doomsday preppers with well-stocked bunkers and enough ammo to kill every living thing within a 500 mile radius, they can’t wait for the end of the world.

Peter Andrew Nolan is one of these other MRAs. And he’s started to celebrate a little bit early.

In a series of recent blog posts and Tweets, Nolan has heralded a number of murders of women at the hands of their exes in his native Australia as portents of a new age of antifeminist retribution. (Click on screenshots below to see archived versions of these Tweets.)

pn2denise

I’m sure actress Denise Richards was delighted to find the above in her Twitter notifications, sent as a reply to a Tweet of hers wishing her father a happy Father’s Day.

Several feminists who ended up in a discussion with him on Twitter were treated to the following.

pn1

pn3

pn4pn5

As Nolan sees it, the murder of women in Australia and Ireland is now perfectly legal, as he has officially declared war upon both countries.

pn9pn10pn11pn12pn13

Nolan thinks politicians and police officers are also legitimate targets in his “war.”

pn14

And he assures us this “war” will continue until he is properly compensated for whatever terrible injustices he thinks have been done to him.

pn15

Now, Nolan’s “legal” claims are of course ludicrous, and he is obviously in no position to “release” any murderers of women in either Ireland or Australia.

But as bizarre as his arguments are, Nolan is no troll; as longtime readers of this blog know all too well, he’s deadly serious about all of this.

The man who used to call himself Peter-Andrew: Nolan©, but who now prefers to call himself Joschua-Brandon: Boehm©, is a follower of the exceedingly strange and dangerous Sovereign Citizen movement. He thinks the odd punctuation he’s added to his various names actually means something important, and he does indeed believe that he is at war with Ireland and Australia, that murdering women is legal in both countries, and that he has the right to enforce these claims of his as best he can.

Happily, he is not actually in either of these countries — last I heard, he’s in Germany, and as I understand it, he is barred from entering Ireland and possibly Australia as well. At least according to the laws that the rest of the world follows.

This isn’t the first time Nolan has justified or indeed celebrated violence against women. His declarations of “war” are not new. He’s offered some (barely) qualified praise for far-right mass murderer Anders Breivik, and at one point he warned any women thinking of commenting on his laughable Facebook ripoff MAN-BOOK that he just might just kill them for it.

But these recent Tweets are pretty brazen, even by his standards. He is clearly a threat to women, as well as to politicians and government employees regardless of gender.

H/T — @TheFirstPaige

NOTE TO COMMENTERS: Please avoid describing Nolan as “crazy,” or attempting to diagnose his mental health. Mental illness doesn’t cause hate. And please refrain from violent language, even when it is clearly metaphorical.

Oh Jesus Christ. This man is a legitimate threat to others.

So, uh, how come he hasn’t been arrested yet? This can’t be legal in Germany. Or any country other than America.

I don’t have many words to say, but there is a nasty feeling in my stomach about this. I wish I hadn’t just eaten lunch.

*shudders*

I want to know how close he is to actually murdering a woman himself. Will he get to the point where he thinks that this “war” isn’t getting anywhere (possibly because it’s not real, dumbass) and so “if you want something done, do it yourself?”

@sunny

If he hasn’t murdered already, I’ll eat my 3DS.

At this point I don’t think it’s really a question of whether he’s going to start killing people, but of what form that will take. I’d lay money on serial killing but I don’t think a spree shooting is out of the question.

It’s only sort of not legal. He’s guilty if he is “disturbing the public peace” but since he has been doing it via Youtube and Twitter, and heaven knows the authorities have yet to consider the internet as a public place, it may not quite count. I don’t know.

Also, holy cow, that would be legal in America? o_o!

Living free.
Being your own person.
Having equal rights.
Not crawling for men.
Getting custody for your own kids.
Speaking your mind.
Having control of your own body.
Leaving a relationship.
Enjoying protection by law.

These are, apparantly, “provocations” that women deserve to die for.

Feminism still has a long way to go. Nolon Colon is proof of that.

Too see a man so twisted by his own sense of entitlement, so full of vicious hatred towards those who do not bow to it. A man who despises women simply not for accepting a life of servitude to him and others like him…

He is Evil. Pure and simple. Capital “E” – kind of Evil.

How come people with delusions of grandeur never use their imaginary status for benevolent purposes? No Supreme Emperors of Earth granting all the citizens a holiday and a scoop of ice cream in their choice of flavor?

Reading the wiki article further, he may also dodge charges seeing as he didn’t say/write this stuff in German, and it wasn’t disseminated in just Germany (but I don’t know what their laws are like regarding internet use – does it count as being disseminated in Germany if the user posted it while IN Germany?).

Not that I’m all that confident it’ll do anything, but are people at least mashing that ‘report’ button on Twitter to raise an alert for what seem to be very real threats on lives?

I find most MRA’s pretty funny. There are some areas around divorce and access to natural children which are unfair to men, and they should fight for equality. Unfortunately they find it easier to sit at a keyboard and rant at strange women on the interwebs.

This guy is something else, a psychopath? Needs mental health detainment in secure facility preferably before he kills a woman/women. Genuinely.

… Aaand it begins. Sigh.

No, despite what the media claims, being a violent asshole is not a mental illness.

Me too. Usually I can just laugh at the ridiculousness of MRAs, but this guy legitimately scares me. He’s angry and he thinks he can do whatever he wants. Something bad is going to happen.

David, could you start adding a note at the bottom of all your posts reminding people that misogyny isn’t an illness? It’s a choice.

Why do people so desperately want to absolve men of all forms of hate and violence by making them out to be helpless to stop being fucking evil?

I’m not a fan of prisons. Most people in them do not belong in them. But, Nolan needs to be locked up.

Just remember, Jared Loughner is also one of those sovereign citizen fruitloops. My bet is on spree killing.

Also, I declared myself Ruler of the World and ordered ice cream, but no one liked the baby seal flavour.

(Minus snark)

In some cases, yes. But to even compose these thoughts would require a mind devoid of compassion therefore a high probability of psychopathy. I certainly don’t sympathise with him or any other psychopath, but I believe that’s what he is.

Most MRA’s strike me as very very angry divorcees who couldn’t get there wives to play 1950’s housewife. I should know. I have a family member who is one and I’m terrified where it will take him.

I don’t know how involved he is, apart from A Voice for Men, which he seems to applaud, and some psychotherapist woman who does ‘talks’.

That’s why I come here to read. To try to understand what the hell he is being exposed to.

I’ll stick to reading in future as nothing to be gained from sarcastic responses to comments I make. Those of us actually living alongside an MRA have to fight the battle alone.

I have a very nasty feeling that this is a case of extremists learning from one another.

In Norway, racist elders ranted about immigrants on the internet and urged violence until an impressionable, alienated young man called Breivik decided to obey them and commit murder. In Charleston, neoconfederate elders ranted about black people and urged violence until an impressionable, alienated young man called Roof decided to obey them and commit murder. It’s a strategy that works.

From an extremist point of view, Breivik and Roof were disposable: under patriarchy “impressionable young man” is pronounced “ammunition.” No amount of punishment applied to them will dissuade anyone else from doing the same thing.

If misogynist elders on the internet are now trying to make the same thing happen for their cause, then… yeah. I really don’t know what to do.

ON A DIFFERENT TOPIC, BUT I HAD TO TELL SOMEBODY:

WARNING, HAVE YOUR BRAIN BLEACH AT THE READY

So Davis Aurini does audio-only podcasts as well as pieces to camera. This one is from May, it’s called “Neomasculinity”. In it, Davis dispenses the wisdom he’s gained from hanging out with Roosh V. I’ll just give you the transcript of the linked section, from 1:14 to 1:48:

> We have game, which is certainly useful. It’s a skill that every man should have to some degree or another. You don’t just use it for picking up sluts in bars, okay, this isn’t pick-up artistry, it’s just how you relate to women. You use game, yes, to meet girls at bars. You also use it with your wife. Or even your nieces. A man with game, y’know, knows how to relate to women. And even little girls are still, they are little women.

or: why Davis isn’t invited to family barbecues any more.

Found on Dick Coughlan, who also did a followup about Aurini/Owen.

Thank you, David. I can think of very few things less pleasant that Aurini fawning over Valizadeh’s theories of how to relate to women. My brain bleach tastes delicious.

The part about policemen being fair targets: Last week in Slovenia some dude (whose ex got a restraining order against him for domestic violence) filed a false report on domestic violence and when the police rushed to the “scene of the crime”, he drove his car directly into them, killing one young officer and injuring another (and himself).
Is this “police is a fair game too” becoming common in these psycho circles? I mean I understand (if disagree) why they would blame the court, but the police?

@sarah

I’m sorry you are having to deal with a family member who is an out and out MRA. Really, I am.

But the comments directed at you were freaking mild, and certainly not sarcastic. Be aware please, that on this blog we get LOADS of comments linking misogyny to mental illness and we’re getting tired of a) having to point out why that’s bad and b) having to deal with the fallout tantrum from people (albeit not everyone) who won’t accept they did wrong by us.

Please, next time someone points out to you not to do something, don’t throw your hands up like it’s an insult.

I think that they see the police as foot soldiers of the courts, or at least, people who get in the way of their “right” to do what they want to their victims.

Countdown until the traditional MRA mating call of “No true scotsman! No true scotsman!”

Are they divorcing themselves from this violent freak?

These are clear threats.

I understand that most other developed countries have much sterner takes on threatening speech than does the US.

Does anyone here have any insight into how he’s still able to spout off on well known public forums?
