Sarkeesian Effect duo split again! Aurini demands another $15,000, Owen disowns him

Ah ha ha ha ha ha! The Sarkeesian Effect duo have split up again! It’s a Fourth of July Miracle!

So today, a furious Jordan Owen put out a video denouncing his now ex-partner Davis Aurini. Why? Because Aurini is demanding another $15,000 to edit the “film” and has set up a fundraiser without Owen in order to raise it.

According to Owen, Aurini has been “dicking around” with the footage for months in hopes of squeezing more money out of the project’s backers. Owen is having none of it, and is telling the backers not to give Aurini another cent, saying that he (Owen) will be editing the footage himself and putting out the film on schedule.

Also, the alleged “big reveal” that was going to come out in the “film?” According to Owen, Aurini decided based on watching one of Sarkeesian’s videos that she had been raped by her father, and was evidently shopping around to find a therapist who would agree to say as much on camera. Aurini’s completely unqualified internet diagnosis: that was their big reveal.

Just watch the video. It’s delicious.

And here, below, is Aurini’s fundraising video, which is what Owen is reacting to. Aurini’s unctuous, earnest tone is especially hilarious in the wake of Owen’s denunciations. Also his repeated references to “we,” as if Owen is on board with him.

At one point he assures would-be backers that he’s “streamlined” his life so he can work on the editing of The Sarkeesian Effect full-time. “As well as writing and doing Youtube videos, which I regularly do,” he adds. “And the podcast.”

Also he needs to do more filming.

He’s evidently hoping to keep the gravy train going until September.

Apparently he’s been so busy with the full-time editing (and writing and doing Youtube videos, which he regularly does, and the podcast) that he’s forgotten to shave his head.

And he seems to have fired his skull.

Where have I heard this before? It all sounds very familiar…

… Even if that was true, how the fuck would it prove Anton LaFail right or pertain to #ClusterFuck in any way, shape or form?

Oh wait, it wouldn’t, it’s just another rape joke/fantasy/threat. Nevermind.

This video seems fitting. That might just be because I’m a bit drunk.

Re Aurini’s video, I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. The YouTube comments about his hair are priceless.

HAIR!!!!!!

Looks much better with hair.

Less Satanic for sure.

I feel a little bit sorry for Jordan for getting screwed over by Aurini a second time. When he addressed Anita in his video, he sounded sincerely apologetic. Since he feels badly about that, I wonder if it occurs to him that this entire documentary targeting Anita should never have been made.

He also had this to say about Zoe Quinn just yesterday as he justified the revenge porn that got him suspended from Twitter: “No, I didn’t do it to shame and mock her. And she was in the middle of a massive shit storm because she’s a shitty person. Deal with reality.”

Calling this guy a con man is an insult to con men.

Or…something.

I’m loving all the hissback. Great production values, Aurini.

He’s growing his hair out to make himself look more like a serious adult. That’s also why he’s ditched the skull, cigarette and thimbleful of scotch. He’s hoping to get a grown-up’s job out of this.

I totally believe that they asked other “SJWs” to be in the movie in good faith, and everyone said they were too scared of the other “SJWs” to be in it. In fact I love how he devotes half the video to insisting that the “SJWs” are scared of their shitty documentary.

I know he still has shitty views about “SJWs” and the “LWs” and consorts with terrible people. I just have a feeling that he has the potential to be a decent person. His world view would have to be profoundly shaken for that to happen, though.

I agree with Auntie Alias about Owen. He might be an asshole shit-stain, but he has enough empathy to made, someday be a person who isn’t an asshole shit-stain. Like, a regular shit-stain, maybe.

I have to agree with Aunty and Jackie. It’s like he’s on the precipice of finally getting that realization that what he’s doing is shitty and he hangs out with shitty people who have shitty worldviews. He just kind of needs a nudge towards the light.

I don’t think this will be it, but it’s a start. Let’s also hope that he doesn’t take Aruini back. Because Goober film or not, what that guy did is a fucking disgrace.

You know, with the hair growing out he looks a little bit like Theodore Beale.

It’s like Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney if they were both dudes, were both delusional, were involved in a predatory scam, were at each other’s throats, had never been big box office, were aching to rat each other out, and were each trying desperately to make the studio heads, along with the American public, understand just how much drugs and booze the other one could hoover up in a day.

Other than that, just like a carbon copy.

Wait, what? I thought the whole reveal was the actual movie reveal that’s supposed to be in August. Then again, I don’t actually follow Aurini or Owen, sooo…

This video of Aurini is a mockumentary in itself. Hilarious stuff.

Rumor has it that the mediator Aurini is working with to get this extra $15,000 is Michael Whiteacre. Husband of Christina Parreira (aka Princess Kora) and softcore porn director.

Owen only ever looks good when compared to guys like Aurini or Roosh. Taken on his own, Jordan Owen is a hateful lonely guy who exercises his frustration by making nasty little remarks about people working to achieve something greater and more original than long, unscripted whining on YouTube.

Once this whole Sarkeesian Effect movie is put to bed Jordan will probably go back to spending his whole life grousing about other people’s fight for social justice. And without Aurini or Roosh’s cartoonishly hateful views to take exception to, Owen will look like the mean little boy he always has been.

It’s frustrating, since I am way #TeamOwen. He’s earnest and a hell of a lot more human than Aurini, and when stories like this come up I really want to like him, see him as a good guy. Sadly Jordan’s positive qualities are basically sprinkles on a dog poop sundae. It’s great that Owen can but it doesn’t redeem him.

Aurini has posted Part Deux. Unfortunately, it’s not funny.

Until he opened his mouth and the lying smarmy bullshit came out, I thought perhaps that with the head unshorn, the goatee shaved back, and the skull swapped out for a coffee press, that could have been Davis Aurini’s not-evil twin.

So, let me see if I follow their logic. A woman says that she was raped. She’s lying. A man decides that a woman must’ve been raped, not because she has said that she was or implied it but because of some other aspect of her behavior. He must be right!

…Even if Anita Sarkeesian had been sexually assaulted by her father, what in the blue blazes would that have to do with ANYTHING? Or at least anything in relation to her videos and her ability to make them? Being the victim of a crime doesn’t make someone incapable of having an opinion or being able to critique something. It’s not a black mark against their reputation, either. Doing something like, say, collecting money from people under false pretenses and never providing the agreed-upon goods, THAT might be a sign that someone is untrustworthy, but having someone else do something terrible to you isn’t.

Oh wait they’re just going to go ‘lololol daddy issues clearly this broad is too emotional to make well reasoned arguments’, aren’t they? *pukes*

Cant wait until The Sarkeesian Effect Effect, that legitimately would be an interesting documentary.

Also, holy crappoly, I just watched the second video and got to the point where he tries to spin the “holy crap guyz, she uses a mailbox service!” cliffhanger from the trailer into something. A nice bit of backpedaling that, oh no, its no big deal, lots of people use those…you see, the real gotcha is…who owns the neighboring mailboxes! Yup, feminazis successfully pwned.

I think that, in Davis Aurini’s mind, that would be proof that she’s biased or something. I mean, the point would be to mock and discredit her, but it would be done under the guise of explaining where her bias is coming from. That’s what I got from it, the way Jordan Owen talked about it. Which is just so many layers of wrong.
