Bathtub orator Jordan Owen responds to critics of The Sarkeesian Effect Trailer with funny voices, mansterics

If their reaction to the widespread mockery of The Sarkeesian Effect trailer is any indication, the two biggest critics of the “critic who cannot be criticized” cannot handle much in the way of criticism. Davis Aurini, the Nazi-er of the two Sarkeesian Effect auteurs, has been blocking the critics on his Youtube channel, evidently oblivious to the ironies. Jordan Owen, the one with the hair, has been yelling into his computer and putting the results up on Youtube. (See above.)

I wouldn’t really recommend watching the entire 18-minute-plus video, in which Owen, bristling with anger, reads out his response to a two-week-old piece in the Houston Press making fun of the trailer, unless you have some sort of fetish for long-winded long-haired dudes talking in silly “Valley Girl” voicesmaking fun of the spelling of people’s names, literally screeching about the “racism and sexism” allegedly faced by white dudes, and generally making no fucking sense whatsoever (while gratuitously working the n-word into their rants).

Seriously, just watch the bits I’ve linked to in the paragraph above and you’ll have a pretty good taste of the whole thing. Or read the rather amusing (and accurate) executive summary prepared by one anti-gamergater here.

The skin, it is a bit thin, no?

Here’s the original Sarkeesian Effect Trailer.

Oh, wait, that was my version. Here’s the one by Owen and Aurini.

And in case you didn’t get that “bathtub orator” reference in the title, this will explain it.

Jordan Owen is a big fan of Jem and the Holograms and is Pissed that they didn’t 1)hire him to write the soundtrack (really, he applied)

This fact made my day.

They’re just so earnestly bizarre…

I think they both need a couple of friendly cats who they can babble away at at will and who can blissfully ignore them.

Cats help put everything into perspective.

He said he was a white nationalist “on paper”, as if that means he’s not one in real life!

Honestly him going “MGTOW” is a blessing to is all.

Speaking of movies–I just saw a trailer for this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knock,_Knock_(2015_film)

and it looks awful–like an MRA’s nightmare come true.

White nationalist “on paper” means he believes everything they believe, but they’re a little too low-class for him. So Aurini is even an elitist asshole to other racists.

“Knock, Knock is a 2015 American horror thriller film directed by Eli Roth …”

Yeah, that’s all I need to know. Eli Roth is a misogynist (and racist!) who gets off on torture porn about women and minorities. Yech.

Mew York Kitty,
That’s because that’s the only kind of racism and sexism there are. Everything else is either a bias or a prejudice. Expanding the term to clear the waters for people who already can’t be bothered to learn what the words mean won’t make a difference. They can read. They can learn. They don’t want to. I’m sure the definition of the word “racism” has been explained to Jordan more than once. He rejects reality and substitutes his own.

There should be classes on this stuff required in schools. That might help. There are so many bigoted parents in the US though, that won;t happen for years to come.

One of my kids is in high school. On the last day one of the parents picked up their kid with Old Dixie flying from the bed of the truck. I passed a truck (always a fucking truck) in a parking lot the other day that had a bumper sticker that read, “The South Was Right”. Teaching diversity and tolerance in the classroom here who result in bomb threats.

…and people wonder why their kids move away and never come back.

Owen saying ‘cringeworthy’ in the first video link turns very quickly from Valley Girl to full-on Paul Lind.

Does Owen not have any friends who’ve ever told him that if he’s going to keep his hair long, the least he can do is use some fucking conditioner and groom that tangled mess before stepping in front of the camera to read his notes?

What the hecking fuck did I just watch? I decided to click on the one about the racism and sexism faced by white dudes… Is he reading his response or somebody else’s response? It was just him reading stupid stuff in increasingly faster monotone without taking a breath.

Ugh. Eli Roth. I admit to liking Cabin Fever. But everything else he’s involved is xenophobic and misogynist trash.

I forgot to mention that Jordan also seriously hopes the movie version of My Little Pony due in 2017 is not being made by the Jem Crew or it will suck because something about source material.

You think I’m kidding, but I’m not.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

I bet he’d love to write the screenplay.

Mew York Kitty (@CCMSparkster)

@Lea I guess so. Though it is more or less the basis of the conspiracy theory that “anti-racist is code for anti-white” and that it gives people of color free rein to do whatever horrible things they want to white people. Though as far as I know, the only people who have interpreted power+prejudice as “people of color should be deemed immune to any consequences for their actions” are almost entirely white supremacists. I say almost because there are some kids on Tumblr who are ignorant about social justice theory and practice and think it means they have this immunity.

But the thing the so-called “anti-SJWs” don’t realize is that those kids are, well, kids. When I was their age, I was really ignorant about a lot of things as well. But kids grow up, and even if they don’t grow out of that mindset, they’re not going to take over the government or anything. People are seriously overreacting to these teenagers on Tumblr. Yes, I do get annoyed when someone posts something about killing white people, but I know intellectually that it’s not going to happen. But I can see why it would freak out a lot of people.

Hahaha! How cute, he doesn’t think this is exactly what every loser complaining that pointing out racism is racist does.

I’ve had the example of a sniffer dog in a Tube queue start getting a bit excited and the poor black kid behind me being asked “for a word” rather than the white guy in the three piece suit (me).

Oh yes, and then there’s the little matter of dogs who appear to be racist. They tend to pick up on the biases of their humans, including racist ones. If their humans react negatively, even fearfully, around people who look a certain way, the dogs will copy the humans’ attitude, and bark and growl at the “threatening” individual, even if that person has done nothing wrong.

And of course, police dogs would pick up on the attitudes of their trainers, whether consciously expressed or not.

You know what? You’re right! The dictionary does say that!… But.

Did you know that, sometimes, words can have more than one meaning depending on how they’re used? Hell, you only have to scroll down a couple of lines to see it:

“A policy, system of government, etc, based upon or fostering such a doctrine.”

You right-wingers love screaming about corned texts almost as much as frozen peaches; believe it or not, “Context” isn’t just a synonym for “Shut up SJWs, I’m not listening, la la la.” Here, it actually changes the discussion! If somebody is talking about how white people aren’t affected by racism, or how police brutality in the US is almost always motivated by racism, it would only make sense for them to be using the “Systemic oppression” definition, not the “Personal bias” definition, especially in a social justice space where “Systemic oppression” is the only definition ever used.

Homophones: They aren’t what them dirty God-eating lib’ruls call you when you say all the gays should go back to Africa.

There are other Pontypool fans here! *love* Anyone seen Absentia? Not a zombie flick but a pretty darn good little horror movie.

@marinerachel I always want to give him an ends trim, a good conditioning treatment, maybe a protein pack, and then give him nice, full, bouncy waves. Not making fun, I seriously want to spa-day that fella.

I don’t know why I feel like there is hope for Owen, but I do. I am likely wrong. *sigh* He just has an Eeyore quality that makes me want to try and like him.

Same here about Owen. He’s just dealt with a lot of shit and he’s not 100% the devil like Aurini is. I’m sure he’s a nice guy if he has some questionable views.

Owen has been obsessing over Gail Dines and anti-porn feminism since at least 2010 it seems. A few of the videos are around an hour or more of truly cringe worthy rambling: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA7089F8ADABDBD42

He’s also written a novel called Eros Empire which appears to be an Atlas Shrugged type of pretentious pseudo-philosophical novel about the porn industry, complete with stereotypical portrayals of anti-porn people. So at least he has lots of work experience to put on his resume.
