A MGTOWs lament: “The fact that slut walks exist make me wish I didn’t live on this planet anymore.”

Kathrine Switzer, one of the first women to run the Boston Marathon, attacked by a race official trying to pull off her numbers
First, women had to take back the day: Kathrine Switzer, one of the first women to run the Boston Marathon, in 1967, was attacked by a race official trying to pull off her numbers

So over on the MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) subreddit, the regulars are discussing the various ways they’re oppressed by a Nike-sponsored women-only nighttime 10k run called “We Own the Night.” Basically, it’s Take Back the Night with running, and Nike.

Well, a guy who calls himself “DegradedSerf” is having none of it. Because lesbianism? And a lack of women in the stage-construction business?

The two things I wanted to point out are the obvious lesbian connotations, there are DJs and dancing and what not until late, women only on a massive scale, and the fact that although the theme is claiming public spaces at night for females, I worked on assembling and deassembling all the stages, lighting, etc. etc. and there were no women working on the whole site.

You know, I hate to tell you this, fella, but there are places where there is lesbian dancing and “what not until late” every single night of the week. Also karaoke, sometimes. Google “lesbian bars.”

So anyway, “We Own the Night” is a sign of the End Times for normal manly men.

If you combine it with the slutwalk phenomenon now women have more rights and privileges than ever before and now a feature of the political and cultural landscape is these mass, semi-sexual, female only (eunuchs sometimes tolerated) demonstrations that public space, (physical and psychological) belongs to women and they intend to make it inimical to males and no expression of masculinity will be tolerated.

DegradedSerf’s lament about the slut walks inspired this little exchange:

Nicholas_ 5 points 1 day ago Knowing the fact that slut walks exist make me wish I didn't live on this planet anymore. permalinkembedsavereportgive goldreply [–]RecQuery 1 point 5 hours ago I sometimes wish we could go live in a colony somewhere just to show the world what things would be like without us. Even if you don't engage you're still supporting society by being there.

Huh. I’ll admit, there are a number of things that sometimes cause me to think I don’t want to live on this planet any more. You know, like genocide, rape as a weapon of war, the millions of people on earth who are living in extreme poverty, that sort of thing.

This guy is driven to existential despair by … women protesting rape.

Ladies – You’d better stop and think about your sociopathic ways. Your sons will thank you – or hate you. The choice is yours.

Watch this, ladies. After you do, most will want to leave this evil site and join my site.

I take it Tim doesn’t work in sales.

Someone call the triggering police for the strong and powerful.

Someone find a MRA troll capable of successfully making a joke. You bungled this one, in part because “triggering police” reads as “police who trigger”.

FYI, I don’t recommend Tim’s video, which I listened to for about eight minutes despite the fact I knew I’d regret that decision.

Men are being oppressed and by women, the government and private enterprise, who all apparently function together as a male disposing all-star team. Tim sounds Australian but the unoriginal spiel is generic MRA talk, mostly made out of GWW’s disposable men dribble.

The best part is that all of that was perpetrated mostly by white, cis men. Literally, Hitler was a straight, white man who wanted his straight, white male race to rule over other and be the only race, and every Grand Wizard head honcho person of the KKK has been a white man (assuming).

I mean, it’s so fucking hilarious how fucking ironic that statement was, I think i fell in love with the word “irony” again.

MGTOW isn’t ‘an answer’. MGTOW is “THE ANSWER”! Bye hypocrites! It’s been nice not knowing you well!

Dear, dear feminists – Thank you for walking away from your traditional roles. In doing so, you enabled me (and all men) to walk away from mine (theirs). That you’re surprised is laughable (and expected). Just another example of your hypocracy. Again – thanks.

He still believes that shit. He’s still a literal cartoon character. We must still laugh at him because it’s so fucking RIDICULOUS.

I also still think his trying to advertise his site because he’s just so RIDICULOUS he’s just RIDICULOUSLY SUCH AN ASS.

He’s at least doing this shit for screen for his shit of a website, considering it’s so RIDICULOUS.

Well, in all seriousness, we wouldn’t mind men stepping out of their traditional roles if they want. That’s kinda the point of feminism. To break down gender roles so anyone can do whatever they want, even if it’s “masculine” of “feminine”.

But, you know, you can an ignorant asshole somewhere else, not that you aren’t gonna milk this all you want until you’re banned like every other troll.

Did Tim say he wanted to expose his manhood to boys?

Also, he worked on an air craft carrier?

So did she.

There was a show on the History Channel recently called “The Men Who Built America”.

This was a pretty terrible documentary mini-series, mostly because filmmakers interviewed both historians and current famous executives/rich dudes. The historians provided factual information about the robber barons/industrial giants of the past; the rich dudes trotted out generic business cliches. They interviewed too many people and half of them were useless, so interview segments were too clipped and awkward for my tastes. When Donald Trump popped up I had to tap out.

I know that this will never happen, but there needs to be a men’s studies course in high school and college. “The Manipulated Man”, “The Myth of Male Power” and “Stand By Your Manhood” are three books with which every young adult male should be exposed.

Yup, that will never happen. ::snicker::

I’m not surprised the documentary sucks since Donald Trump is involved. Usually everything he touches goes bankrupt or to shit or bankrupt to shit.

Then why are you here if you want to leave so bad?

Go. We’re not stopping you, sugar plum. We’ll even pack you sandwiches for your trip.

We’re not surprised that you want to walk away from traditional roles though. Traditional roles suck for everyone bruh.

And if you Go Your Own Way away from women, hey, more women for the good men out there who think that I’m worthy of respect and that I’m an adult who can make her own decision.

My future partner (no matter their gender) thanks you for your *ahem* “sacrifice”.

(Not having kids though. Buahahahahah.)

Wow – see normally I see someone like Tim and I don’t care what they say. Well, I care in general, because it’s damaging and dangerous, but the detail just rolls off me. But this nonsense about men being disposable or women seeing men as disposable really ticked me off this morning. I had a visceral feeling of anger.

Boys disposable? Please. I’ve only got one child and he’s a boy. He’s not disposable. He is precious. Irreplaceable. Do I see feminism as a threat to him? No. And I really hope that he lives in a strong partnership with a woman and has kids when he grows up. Will he have a strong partnership if he sees his wife as less? Or if he does less than his share or isn’t a good father? Or believes his own father’s MRA nonsense and builds a relationship of mutual resentment and zero sum? The couples who seem happiest to me are the ones who support each other – including their goals outside the family.

Male disposability is a real thing: the cultural trope of “throwing young men’s lives at the problem until the problem is solved” definitely exists, as does the trope of representing anonymity, obedience and violence as being part of the military power fantasy. However, it’s a patriarchal thing, not a plot by the eeevil feeemales. To blame it on women isn’t even projection; it’s just scapegoating.

To clarify: the concept of male disposability is fucking reprehensible and anybody who speaks in its favour is no friend of mine. When one says that “patriarchy hurts men too”, it’s one of the things to which they refer. Rugbyyogi, your response to it is utterly appropriate and thanks for being an ally here.
