As some one that believes that history should be taught to our citizenry far more extensively and accurate in the schools, this makes my head hurt. That could be because I just broke my desk beating my head into it. How can anyone reduce the horrors of chattel slavery down to a debate on gender roles?
I was more taken aback by the lack of grammar than the opinion (as ignorant as it is).
Anything destroyed by equality needs to be destroyed.
Same sex marriage will doom straight marriage? Good. Let it burn.
Desegregation was going to destroy “white culture” too. Good. It is a shitty culture that exists only when other people are oppressed.
When these guys talk about cis, het, white dudes, they only mean themselves. They know decent men are going to go about their lives and indeed, be happier for living in a more diverse, accepting society that does not dictate to them what a “real man” is. The misogynists know they are the dinosaurs that are going extinct as the patriarchy is slowly dismantled. Not because they are straight white guys, but because they are bigots. The world is not theirs by default anymore and they hate it.

I love how he thinks slavery is a “concept”, as if history textbook writers are choosing to portray slavery in a really unflattering way by calling it slavery. If they would just reframe it as happy volunteers working the fields, kids wouldn’t be so brainwashed!

Eighty percent of congress is made up of white dudes, white dudes make up a third of the US population but the majority of people working in hollywood, the government, and pretty much every other major institution, and straight, white, cis men are seen as the default human being. Sort of makes sense that MRAs would think that’s what feminists believe, it’s the same sort of logic as believing you deserve praise for everything men have ever done throughout history simply cause you have a penis. Just more projecting and assuming others think the way they do.

There’s plenty to discuss about slavery and gender. Just not the way the gaters are doing. Female slaves were systematically raped by their owners, so the institution of slavery and misogyny were definitely bound up together. In fact it still is since sex slavery is horrifically enough, commonplace.

I dunno about him having a son or two. Batman’s got one bio son and several surrogates. If Supes has a son, it’s probably with
LouisLois or maybe that funky shapeshifter version of Supergirl (they got married — briefly — in the late 90s in a story by Peter David).There was also the Bottle City of Kandor, not to mention Kara’s little menagerie of super animals. At some point, being The Last X of Krypton kind of loses its cachet.

I think the latest Superboys are Superman’s son with Lois Lane–Jon Lane Kent–and then I think there was a genetic experiment one that Lex Luthor made? Those are from different arcs, though, I’m pretty sure. Different worlds or something. Because I know the first Superboy was Superman as a kid, but there’s at least two others.

Wrong Supergirl. That was Linda Danvers, not Matrix, after the two of them were seperated. And it’s this whole Dr. Who esque thing having to do with Crisis on Infinate Earths. And Matrix becoming Supergirl has less to do with the last son than the fact Kate died during Crisis. Did the same thing to Barry Allen. Kept him out of the line up even longer.
Kara did make a return later, but that’s another story. And yes, I’m a huge comic geek.
As for this… I have to wonder how old these jackasses are? I mean, seriously?
