So over on the Men’s Rights subreddit, a charming fellow with the charming name of FuckAllSJWs wants the world to know that
I’m not into music by women, because I can’t identify with getting my period in a business meeting, or sympathize with some waiflike chick strumming a guitar while singing weakly about her feelings.
Or one trying to use her tits to get airplay.
Thanks for your opinion! We are all better for having heard it.
Here’s Yoko Ono with a rebuttal:
If anyone knows where I could find songs about getting periods in business meetings, let me know, because I would really like to hear some.
I know I mentioned Yoko yesterday, but I’m pretty sure every time someone posts something non-abusive about her online an MRA angel loses its wings.

Music about menstuate on, I feel like this is relevant:
I love these comments and will bookmark this so every morning I can listen to these waifs to get the right weak attitude for my day. Thanks everybody!

Also? That Li-sa-X?
okay, she can play Raxer X, but can she play MacAlpine?
There’s an all feeemale band from the 90s called The Period Pains.
Period Pains – Spice Girls (Who Do You Think You Are?): http://youtu.be/B8AoumEZ07A
I thought manospherians want women to be waifs?
@fromafar2013
I can sympathize with that author. I’m a straight dude and I get sick of hearing men singing about women, and I’m not even the one being objectified by it. There are definitely differences between genres. The songs getting the most airplay on the radio are probably those Men Singing About Women (MSAW) songs. But a cursory glance through my own collection is showing a much smaller percentage of MSAW’s, though my collection is probably 95% male vocalists. My collection tends to include songs about more general life choices, anger at the world in general, and Finnish folklore.
Men have feelings too.

Feelings. Nothing more than feelings.
Re: periods in songs, there’s a persistent rumor that the girl in the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” is riding the cotton pony: “Better come back, baby next week/Cause you see I’m on a losing streak”. I don’t think that was the intent, but it’s the kind of thing tamponophobes might easily believe.
@smitty It’s the title track from “Gaucho”. The lyrics are hilarious, and it’s a catchy tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWFo1CA_9yk
@falconer
I’m not sure what the image in question is, but I know she has herself released some images that feature that portion of her anatomy. I think it was in the liner notes of one of her albums? Or a promotional shot? Something like that.
Would that make Greensleeves one of the earliest written Nice Guy(tm) laments?
Oh, well, I am not into music by men because I cannot identify with walking around with a raging boner most of the time. Also, I cannot identify with the war-mongering, racist and sexist psychology that they find so very sexy.
Meh.
I think Joan Jett might have something to say about this

Oh, and here’s some WoC strumming guitars and singing about feelings. They look only mildly waifish, though. After all, WoC are far too masculine to ever be considered waifish.
Oh and I think you all forgot one person in particular, who did nothing but sing about his feelings:

Did somebody say period music?
Sooo, mastering the instrument with which your father’s name is practically synonymous, and then using it to play in entirely different genres is probably some kind of misandry, right?

Fromafar2013: That rant was hilarious and spot on. I’ve always listened to women artists, I just never thought of men’s music in quite that way before.
A woman actually singing about her feelings:
I wouldn’t call her on the touchy-feely stuff though. She pretty clearly has access to knives and a fetish for pain. She could fuck you up pretty badly.
to be honest I’m not sure what is problem is – is the that a woman is signing weakly? Or that a woman has the audacity to have feelings or is he just a jackass. Third point I’d bet.
oh yes – woman signing weakly about her feelings:
The first thing I thought of when reading the title of this was “how on Earth does an MRA know about that Ani DiFranco song?” Glad to know I’m not the only one here who knows “Blood in the Boardroom.”
Either I’m blind or this entire comment thread is devoid of Tarja Turunen.
Omission fixed.
@KSRay
Nice! Like, really nice. Only, I’m pretty sure that drum on the far right isn’t period. Wrong type of manufacture.
Still, that period music is some pretty fine period music.
…also, I totally didn’t know “Blood in the Boardroom” existed. So, um, thanks MRAs for letting me know about another song?
Well for all MRAs this song is for you.

This is for all the MRAs

LOL! You go, David.
Yoko Ono rocks! (there goes another one… ;))
