So over on the Men’s Rights subreddit, a charming fellow with the charming name of FuckAllSJWs wants the world to know that
I’m not into music by women, because I can’t identify with getting my period in a business meeting, or sympathize with some waiflike chick strumming a guitar while singing weakly about her feelings.
Or one trying to use her tits to get airplay.
Thanks for your opinion! We are all better for having heard it.
Here’s Yoko Ono with a rebuttal:
If anyone knows where I could find songs about getting periods in business meetings, let me know, because I would really like to hear some.
I know I mentioned Yoko yesterday, but I’m pretty sure every time someone posts something non-abusive about her online an MRA angel loses its wings.

Oh wait! I do know of a song that mentions periods.
Blah blah strumming blah blah waifs blah blah feelings blah blah MUSIC.
Buttercup: WHAT? Are you making that up? Sounds marvelous.
More music of women singing weakly about feelings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvWE_2ju1GA
(OK, yeah, there’s also a man singing in that particular song. But those songs are a minority for Arkona.)
Oh FFS. FuckAllSJWs, dude, if you want to miss out on a bunch of awesome music simply because it was created by women, then you go right ahead. Whatever.
Another waif singing weakly about her feelings:

Translation: “I wish I had tits, so people would pay attention to meeeeeeeeeee.”

They have a new lady for that now while the other one, y’know, runs the band. Typical flowery lady stuff, just managing a metal outfit.
@ktrantingredhead:
… I saw a photo of someone’s handcrafted Miley Cyrus themed jar candle the other day. Whoever had made it photographed it in front of a background made of several photos of Cyrus.
One of the photos, I’m pretty sure, included one of her nipples, but it was somewhat out of focus.
I really hope I just inadvertently saw a photo of a photo of Cyrus nip that had been consensually shared, and that whomever photographed the candle had her consent to include it, but I’m too scared to Google and find out.
The candle jar was decorated with a painting of her face framed with hearts and dongs. We’re talking real class here.
The ultimate misandrist song!
Two more, because why the hell not.
Oh, and here’s one from a couple of waifs, strumming a guitar and playing the piano, singing about their period:

Just as a side note, but shouldn’t
really more likely be
?
I mean, for anybody but major stars who can afford to set up their own studio, the recording company owns all the song rights and makes all the marketing decisions…
Call Floor Jansen weak. Not trying to start a feud about who’s best suited to do vocals for Nightwish — though we can if you want. 😉
I love how the comment is in response to this article: Why I’m not into music by men anymore
https://archive.today/ZeC99
It makes a very valid point, which seems to have gone over their heads.
@KSRay
I’m still not ready for not-Tarja. And is Floor still there? I thought they’d changed it up again.
As far as I know, Floor is still there. And that’s a big improvement over Annette if you ask me. Annette’s an okay vocalist, but she’s all wrong for that band.
Whoa. So many videos of music. No wonder Firefox kept crashing and I had to switch to Safari (in which the videos don’t embed but just appear as black rectangles) to read this comment thread.
Meh, big deal. I know misogynists already don’t want women involved in movies, video games or comics. Music too? No surprises there.
This guy’s mind probably can’t even compute the idea of a feeeeemale playing music that is men’s “territory.”
Not technically about getting a period in a board-room, more about her period being something she worries about while on tour, but here’s Amanda Palmer.*

* I really like her music, but I have to give her major side-eye for some of the problematic stuff she’s done, especially when she initially supported Jian Ghomeshi by re-posting his beedeessemm rape apologism. She kicked him off her tour after fans told her they weren’t ok with it, but I was disappointed that she was willing to side with a rapist in the first place.
Then again, there seem to be few artists who haven’t done something either problematic or outright reprehensible. Do any of y’all find yourselves having to reconcile your love of a particular piece of media with stuff you don’t like about the person making it?
@KSRay
For some reason, I was thinking Floor was in there before her. I wrapped myself into a big, crotchety ball of ‘NO’ when Tarja left so I’m completely out of the loop. I definitely did not like Annette (or 1st not-Tarja), though. That’s what really steered me from Nightwish’s newer music. She isn’t a *bad* vocalist, but her voice is nowhere near as strong. I watched a 2013 performance on YouTube and shut it off a couple verses into “Ghost Love Score” because I just couldn’t. It was too jarring of a difference.
“or sympathize with some waiflike chick strumming a guitar while singing weakly about her feelings.”
“strumming a guitar while singing weakly”
“singing weakly”
My personal favourite by them:
Everybody knows real alpha males only listen to songs about dry stone walling and eating barbecued meat with their bare hands.
@Schmidt
Yay, another mention for Arch Enemy! They’re my favorite MRA “metal is for BOYZ” foil. A once all-male metal band now run and fronted by women?? MISANDRY!!
