So earlier in the week I received an email with the subject line “$1000 donation to Paul Elam thank to you David!”
The email was a copy of a note this generous fellow evidently sent to Elam along with a $100 donation and a promise to send more.
But the email wasn’t so much about Elam as it was about me, or at least about an imaginary version of me that the email-writer has cooked up in his own fevered imagination, and who for some reason he calls “David Futtreele.”
After referencing that recent Buzzfeed article (which was not of course written by me), the letter writer moved on to his main complaints about me (or at least about imaginary me): that I’m a fat man-hater that no woman will ever have sex with.
It’s true that I’m fat.
This seems to me an odd reason to donate money to Paul Elam, but, hey, Paul, you’re welcome.
Here’s the note, unedited. I’m leaving it in its original wall-o-text form, though I have redacted the guy’s name.

60-80% of the population knows Buzzfeed TRIED to turn what we ALL go through with broken westernise women into something bad… About 80% of the male population can relate to this except David Futtreele that has never been laid before or ever will!
DAVID FUTTREELE ISN’T INTELLIGENT AT ALL… any NORMAL human being in their 40s would have asked themselves, “why can’t attracted a women. Is it because I’m a broken man = YES” Paul, you have been in 3 marriages and have dated allot of women. Did David ever think “I have allot of followers like Paul Elam but no one wants to have sex with me, there must be something wrong with me” and there serious is! We had a great Valentine’s Day. It was mum’s 90th birthday. She pointed out to the removals officer that there was nowhere to fit her (very bulky) transportable evaporative cooler in the new place. “Oh, would you like a reverse cycle air conditioner then” said the voice on the end of the line. “Yes, please” said sis. And the magic of convenient cooling and heating was provided. And it’s a really, really nice little house, much better laid out with open plan and heaps of cupboard space than the poky little 1920s style separate rooms. Took mum home at six o’clock, contented and glowing with a huge bunch of flowers and a lovely arrangement of orchids in a tallish vase, then came home ourselves and watched tele.
Either fathers are important to a child’s development or paternal abandonment is something easy to get over. Pretending they care about abused and neglected boys while declaring them “broken” and undesirable if they don’t “get over it” does not make sense. Why don’t they see that? They have no compassion for men and boys in need.
Also, if broken men don’t attract women how are women ruining society by sleeping with all the wrong sorts of men?

I’m a Boomer and check email at home and on vacation, at least every other day. But I’m salaried, no one else at work really understands what I do, my (few) patients have to be able to contact me in case of emergency, and I make my own hours and do my own scheduling. Sometimes I work long hours, but mostly I don’t.
I still find it strange how anyone can be *this* viciously hateful against people just for… well… existing as free individuals.

Well first and foremost Elam isn’t exactly my idea of Success and his primary income stream seems to be his Blog as well from what I can Discern. Mine isn’t monetized. Perhaps I should Word press more for the ability. I’m sort of disturbed at how much these guys seem to think Getting laid is directly proportional to their self worth though. I mean I have my sources of External Validation but I’m more Charmed by the fact that they seem to be REALLY starting to FALL for me or Compliment and support me a lot that keeps me going. I think I’d rather be loved than get laid If i’m ENTIRELY honest. Not that I have anything against sex. @fruitloopsie. I’m living at home, it’s not because i’m lazy, in fact Being on disability i might just seek out roomies in the local PDX area. I’m not lazy either. I mean I volunteer For the WOLF-PAC to get money out of politics over at the young turks and that involves a lot of corresponding to secure Car pools for people but once we get there we have to walk ALL over the capital building in Salem and more to the point It’s a bit of a hike from parking to the building which is bigger than anyone really realizes and has offices all over the place on both sides and I mean it’s intense when you have meetings scheduled with ALL of the representatives in the building almost it means walking all over the place taking elevators and criss crossing from far ends of the building at a brisk speed all the time Filling m amazon store where I sell things too Takes a lot of scouring and scouting around the community for inventory and boxes then packing them up and shipping them off. I mean it’s Easier perhaps than some people’s work and It pays better even if SLOWER but the more inventory I put in it the more opportunities to make a sale I’m going to get paid sometime on the 3rd and go to a concert with a friend of mine on the 8th and when I do I plan to make a minor hike to a local bank and open a bank account probably on my own by myself and make a Wire transfer somewhere else into a Stock broker. I mean I’m not lazy. I’m just not really interested in the 9-5 lifestyle and have found ways to potentially generate an income without it.
