Thanks, I’ll check ’em out (I am from the US/very much into politics). I don’t know if I’ve turned into one of those overly sensitive feminist straw-ladies or what but almost every progressive blog or show I’m into just ends up pissing me off to the point where I don’t really want to support them anymore.

Regarding the new fighting game character, I think I know what you’re talking about (my boyfriend and I had to see the HUGE shitstorm that unfolded since Sunday night). I’m very sure that you’re referring to the Tekken series. And if that’s the case, their whining about said character makes no actual sense to us for two reasons:
-The series has character customization. They’re free to modify if they don’t like the character’s default outfit.
-And… this is a fighting game series that has fighting bears, fighting pandas, fighting robots (with one brandishing chainsaws to boot), boxing kangaroos, boxing VELOCIRAPTORS, and a guy that merged with the FREAKING DEVIL AND CAN SHOOT LASER BEAMS OUT OF HIS EYES! And that’s just PART of the series.
Whoo, boy. Sadly not surprised that the dudebros came out with calls of their “WHERE’S MY MANLY MAN/REAL WOMAN FIGHTING CHARACTER?!”, either.

Ah, that’s okay. (I have knowledge of a handful of fighting games myself, but I’m actually terrible at Smash Bros because I’ve never played any game from the series other than the first one a long time ago. My boyfriend got me the recent one for my 3DS, but I’ve been too lazy to practice. That and I’m immersed in Pokemon Omega Ruby at the moment. Still a little miffed that they removed character customization, though. I liked that feature from X and Y a lot.)
I find it silly that they ended up attacking EACH OTHER. Holy crap, that’s like… a huge black hole of nonsense.

See, this is the reason why I can’t ever really trust Westernized (i.e. Anglosphere) feminazis (and also why I gradually developed antipathy to feminazism). If it were up to these castrating misandrists, there would never be any fanservice at all, particularly of the sexual variety, especially catering to heterosexual men. It’s nosy busybody attitudes like this that cause companies to become insanely paranoid-as-hell and censor videogames, especially RPGS’s coming from Japan (ex. Bravely Default, Mugen Souls 1 and 2, Monster Monpiece, Criminal Girls, etc.), even if the only people who will realistically ever purchase the games in the first place are the die-hard hard-core fanboys for whom the fanservice was created in the first place, and who will now be forever deprived of their enjoyment. So much for Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, eh?
And btw, an equal number of MRA sympathizers actually liked and wanted to have that cute new female character in the latest Tekken installment, so don’t lump us all into one group…
