Okay, I tried watching the video, but the rapid camera moves kept making me nauseous. I am reminded why I like to *play* video games, not watch when someone else is!

This post was much-needed after the last one, thanks. It’s great to see Quinn in good spirits and joining in on the mocking, even after all that these twerps have put her through. I really do admire her strength. My favorite speaker is probably the one that rolls her Rs all dramatically every other word (beginning at 3:10, I think).

Haha, I just read an article about how some people are complaining that some fighting game added a new female character… All of the pro-#GG commenters immediately jumped on “PC SJWs” and “Feminazi b***hes,” as expected, but the real complainants? Turned out to be 100% dudebros pissed off at the idea of an anime girl sullying their “Manly” game while wearing full-cover clothes.
If there was any shred of a doubt that #GG is officially at the “Obama made me miss the football game” stage of single-minded reactionism, it’s gone.
re:WP debacle
There’s currently an arbitration case open. It’s being flooded* with gators claiming that every traditional media source is biased because GG is so threatening to them (this after all the “games” media links were removed from the article – they are claiming that NYT, The Grauniad, etc. are not reliable). There’s also been an attempt to censure every admin who has ever taken any administrative action against any gator for being “involved”.
It’s a huge mess but from the arb comments it looks like there’s going to be a fairly large anvil coming down.

I continue to wonder if these dudes are teenage boys or if they’re adults acting like teenage boys. Sadly, I suspect the latter. Your comment reminded me of the what we were talking about the other day. Dudebros were mad that Natalie Dormer talked the showrunners on Game of Thrones out of an inappropriate (and non book canon) sex scene with her child husband because they want to see her nude.
I just don’t get why people consume media that way. Always hoping for nudity. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying it. I always enjoyed Eric Northman taking his clothes off on True Blood after all. But you shouldn’t want the story to take a back seat to unnecessary nudity. If you need to see sex and nudity there’s a wealth of porn out there. You don’t need to want to turn regulars shows/movies/games into porn!
And the thing is, there’s lots of nudity available, it’s really not hard to find. And in this case if they really want to see Dormer in particular naked, that’s already happened, on the same show even (well, topless). So I don’t think it can even be “need to see this person naked”, they’re just annoyed on general principles that a woman is setting any sort of boundary and/or getting involved in decisionmaking for the media product they’re consuming. They’re allergic to any sign of backbone or gumption in women – it’s pretty much impossible not to annoy them unless you never express any opinions at all, if you’re a female public figure.
