It’s been said before, but wow, the self-awareness is weak in this one. Comparing being doxxed to being dead? Casually brushing off real people lives just like GladOS did? When she did it, she was supposed to be unsettling. Also “I think I prefer to stay inside” is insincere because she physically can’t leave, and a shallow attempt at guilt-tripping Chell, and their version just makes them sound like unhealthy shut-ins who probably should just keep to themselves. Also, the entire song is a series of lies, not a rallying cry and this is just stupid.
I also think there’s a problem with referring to descriptions of race, sexuality, and gender-identity as insults, and accusations of any form of bigotry as name-calling, when it’s actually more like a description of a crime.
I’m guessing they picked Still Alive because they agree with that stupid “History of Women in Videogames” macro that’s doing the rounds. You know the one that starts in 1995 *snort* and reads “LOL at the loser and his videogames” until 2007 when it changes to “Wow, Portal is awesome!” It would tie in with their “let us exploit the Humon Feemales on the Tumbloblog with kitten pictures” strategy.
One of the songs to be covered is Chumbawamba – Tubthumping. No submissions yet. I understand that the chorus sounds empowering.

1995? Hell, I played Pong in the ’70s, and Frogger, Space Invaders and Adventure in the early eighties, then Star Trek in the mid ’80s. Went to an all women’s college as an undergrad in 1981 with just the one computor in the college which you had to book time and we were writing our own “Adventure”-style game (involving dragons – I crashed and/or burned.on a regular basis).
They really are oblivious to anything outside their own little world, aren’t they?
