I’m sorry for your loss, Amnesia.
Hey everybody. After being a regular for three years, it’s time for me to leave Mammoth.
I don’t like how trans women are getting treated here. I don’t like the sanitizing of history that claims TERF is a silencing slur, or that trans women have male privilege. The way people have been discussing trans women’s bodies and genitals repels me. Trans women’s issues are women’s issues. Transmisogyny is misogyny. I came here to mock misogyny, not be a part of it, and knowing that my body is only being treated with more respect because I’m male… well. No thank you.
A lot of trans people have left Mammoth over the years. Ami, Cliff, Rutee, darksidecat, ozymandias, Ally. Now I’m joining the flight. It is not a coincidence that so many trans people have left here. This is not an isolated incident, but an ongoing trend at Mammoth.

I’m also out of here. I’m still going to read David’s posts (because awesome), but the comments section these days makes me tense and angry so I’m staying out. I may dip into the comments just to see if katz had her novel published (It. Must. Happen!), or if there are any wonderful pictures of Falconer’s BABBIES, or if Fibinachi has written any epic poetry. But my heart isn’t here anymore, for the same reasons as LBT. In fact, this place has torn a little piece of my heart out. But I have lots of heart support elsewhere, so no worries!
Anyone who wants to stay in touch can contact David for my email. I’ll keep the Artistry blog up (as long as it’s free), so the Welcome Package will be there. Feel free to keep using it.

LBT and Cloudiah, I am very sorry to see you go. You’re both amazing people and both of you have contributed so much to this blog and this community while you’ve been here. LBT, I will take your criticisms to heart; obviously I don’t want this blog to be a place where trans folks feel at all unwelcome, because they’re not unwelcome. If you or if anyone wants to share their concerns about this or about any other concerns you should always feel free to email me, though obviously that’s up to you.
I understand that you both need to do what is right for you, but I will miss you both.
I’m so sorry to hear about your cat, Amnesia. People often don’t take the loss of a pet as seriously as it deserves, but it’s a big deal, and it’s OK to grieve for as long as you need to. Lots of people here have also lost pets, if you need a place to talk about it.
Amnesia, I’m still sorry about your fuzzy one… Jedi hugs, if they’re warranted.

LBT, if you’re still reading this, I wanted to thank you specifically for your comics. They’ve been helpful both to me personally, but your example has been very helpful for somebody close to me who has been having trouble understanding what has been going on in their head for more than a decade. I appreciate y’all and hope whatever you do it makes you feel better.
LBT – I’m sorry to see you go, but yeah, it’s always best to do what you need to do. I don’t normally follow the writeathon stuff but I always enjoyed your discussions of it.
