The Feminists: A story so frighteningly impossible, you won't believe it wasn't collectively written by the Men's Rights subreddit

Uh oh.
Uh oh

A tiny group of gallant men (and “their women”) go underground to fight the evil gynocratic overlords. Is this the plot of a terrible dystopian potboiler from 1971, or a description of how most MRAs see themselves, and the world, today?

Turns out it’s both. I found this pic in the Blue Pill subreddit, and now I really, really want to read this book.

Here’s a book review from someone who did.

LOL Clearly you haven’t actually read what the conspiracy theorist MRAs have to say. There won’t be some Feminazi Fourth Reich. The current conspiracy theory is that the continued and ever increasing pandering to women is going to drive the world economies bankrupt creating a depression on the scale of the Dark Ages. There isn’t going to be a Fourth Reich of Feminazi, The conspiracy theory is that there will be a thousand years of darkness recreating the need for the “Traditional” gender roles and forcing people back into these roles despite “Women’s Empowerment”

Whats really going to happen is that “Men’s Rights” is going to pick up steam and power and influence over the next 20 years and get the pendulum moving back twords equilibrium, but just like feminism the pendulum is going to have a great deal of momentum as it blows right past the point of equilibrium, Then we are going to have 20 years of men having it better than women before Feminism crops back up again and swings the pendulum back in favor of women. Lather Rinse Repeat off into infinity.

If anyone here actually wants gender equality, then the best thing you could possibly do isn’t argue for “Women’s Rights”. To create gender equality we need to slow the pendulums swings so that it can settle on equilibrium. The further past equality that you push it now, the faster it will swing past equality and the further the pendulum will swing to favor men

Do you count all the dystopias where humanity is kept in arrested development with no real purpose in life but endless partying, sex, and controlled substances (e.g. Brave New World) or where everybody is an emotionless robot (e.g. Equilibrium)? Since the point isn’t “look at how poor they are!”, I’d exclude those.

No, I mean specifically the ones where it’s like “After disaster X the world was plunged into destitution” but then you actually see people and they seem pretty middle-class. Like how in the Mad Max movies everyone has a car.

Can we put GNL on moderation for being boring, and only publish comments where he manages against all odds to be entertaining? My scrolling finger is getting tired.

genderneutrallanguage: in what ways is the pendulum presently past the point of equality?

@LBT, I like that manuscript.

@Viscaria, I’ve seen the “men and females” thing in 19th century diaries.

@cassandra, that dish-washing kitty is hilarious (and soooo pretty).

Re: the getting permission – it read immediately to me as being permission from authorities, not from the woman participating. I think that was the whole point of the “even if she’s willing” bit, which is rapey enough all by itself. I was half inclined to think they meant making love in the broader, older sense of courting, but is courtship even allowed if men have been reduced to chattel? Seems unlikely (or just more inconsistency, which wouldn’t be at all surprising).

cassandrakitty, works for me. Want me to unapprove his latest wall of boredom?

Maybe I just can’t remember because GNL is just that boring, but have we attempted to pop him yet? Popping trolls is more entertaining than they are most of the time and it does seem to make them go away (albeit after several failed flounces and with a few socks here and there).

Ah– then the all-time winner there is the post-Rapture world of the Left Behind series.

I don’t think we have, Alex. He tends to make a really boring, stupid comment, then disappear, iirc.

This is not entirely accurate. Why does the description of the book not mention anything about cats?

Also, can we troll challenge GNL? Make xir actually entertaining for once?

He’s pretty much doomed to lack entertainment value due to the factors that Kittehs mentioned, which is why I feel like just not letting him comment unless he says something interesting might be the way to go, plus refusing to allow him to mansplain all over the place might make him frustrated enough to pop entertainingly.

A troll challenge would work too. He certainly owes us some sort of entertainment as compensation for having to scroll through his tedious crap for so long.

not letting him comment unless he says something interesting

So… not letting him comment at all?

I’d be quite happy to do the “kill his comments with fire” thing I did to the Vegan Pill, if only because it pisses ’em off, until such time as the Dark Lord decides whether to moderate GNL or not.

Not that I’m mean or anything.

The new frontier for MRA activism – lowering the age of consent to 12.

Actually this tumblr is a goldmine of mock-worthy material. For example!

It probably shows how overexposed to manosphere crap I am that the thing I find most offensive about this idiot’s profile is the fact that he thinks Evanescence is a heavy metal band.

So, a wannabe pedophile putting his face and hideous thoughts out there for all the world to see.

Be nice if his local police kept a watch on him.

I’m sort of curious as to what he means by women have swung the pendulum past the point of equality, but it’s probably some weird alternate reality of his own imagination, so not much of a loss.

On the “taking a woman” thing; yeah, rapey and gross.

I’ve never known a “smart, funny, witty” person who actually introduces themselves that way.

And “signature blue sweater”? Wat?

@Skye: I’m pretty sure he means that, in his world, women are now more privileged because feminism went too far or something.

Lowering the age of consent to twelve? Holy cat. That’s awful. Didn’t the misters just get all upset about possibly being considered pedos?

I just looked at that first link again – is that blond creep with the over-endowed eyebrows the Unamazing Asshole? Never seen a pic of him before.

Only one page in and I’ve already found the perfect illustration of a young manosphere dude. Misogyny, racism, unreasonable demands that you be willing to mold your hobbies around his, Hollywood movies are the opiate of the masses but TV is OK, thinks that nobody else reads books, and btw you better be willing to be a femsub, and don’t even think about talking to him if you aren’t going to promise sex in advance.

Yep, that’s him! David should write about him again, he reacts with amusing tantrums when poked.

I’d like to know specifically in what ways women are privileged more in his opinion. Some sad curiosity. Silly, I know.
