Ugh. Not feeling too well, so no post today. (Maybe a short one, later.)

I’m sorry to read that you aren’t feeling well. Please rest and drink plenty of fluids – I find that tea helps a lot when I’m sick. (Sends a nice hot bowl of homemade virtual chicken broth.)

Bronchitis? Sorry to hear that. I got bronchitis when I was 15, and it was so awful that it was the first time I had to take antibiotics. I hope things don’t get as bad for you.

Augg – I’ve done that. The version I used involved making a paste and working it into the hair. Effective, but somewhat messy and time consuming. Nice reddish brown color.

Ally – I had bronchitis maybe three years back and had to have antibiotics for it, too. Sucks majorly. It was a bit of a shock to be walking to the clinic (about ten minutes from home) and realised I couldn’t keep up with Mum, who walked very slowly even pre-stroke.

David – have you had bronchitis before? If so ignore this, you’ll know it. Just going to add, take it really gently when you’re recovering, ‘cos bronchitis will sneak back and bite you when you think you’re over it. One little bit of exertion and boom, you’re wiped out all over again.

Bronchitis! My condolences, especially with migraines. I hope Dr. Tinycat and your own kitties take good care of you. We’ll swat any trolls who dare to come in while you’re feeling ill.

p.s. I had my job interview today, and it went very well but I am exhausted — it went from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm. (Yes, that’s right — in pseudo-academia, it’s trial interview by ordeal.) Now that that’s over, I am sending good job hunting vibes to anyone who needs them.

That’s terrible. =( I know what you mean when you say that you had trouble walking. I often feel that way when I’m sick, particularly during fevers.

I tried going to bed with 5 blankets or so because I felt so “cold”, and then when I got up I was hyperventilating and feeling like I had zero energy. It sure didn’t help matters that my dad was yelling and screaming at me for not being quick in doing what he asked me. (He made some tea for me, and when I drank it too slowly he started getting angry at me.) It’s one thing to be sick – it’s another thing to be sick and psychologically distressed as well. On top of that I believed that I deserved my sickness because a few months prior to my bronchitis I had “sinned” via doing alcohol drugs for the first time.

My case was extreme, of course. But I think it really highlights the importance of being around kind people and being kind to oneself while sick. I honestly do feel more capable of getting better when I’m around people who are genuinely caring. And by extension, I would say that being nice to oneself while sick is important as well. Sick people deserve a happy, peaceful environment no matter what. I understand that by “take it really gently” you are also alluding to acts of self-care that directly aid in recovery (such as a shower or a cup of tea), but I think the psychological part is important as well.

Oh, my. 🙁

I hope you feel better, soon! Bronchitis and migraines both are awful. Take it easy and drink lots of tea.

Kitty hugs for the ill! (Disclaimer, not my cat.)

That kitty looks so sad. 🙁 Sorry you’re not feeling well, David–hope you feel better soon!

Seconding what Unimaginative said. I want to add that your posts show you to be an wonderful person, trans_commie–you’re clearly very intelligent, insightful, and compassionate. Oh, um…sorry if any of that was creepy.

@scott1139

Believe me – if I thought you (or anyone else here) were creepy, I would make my feelings known. That means that you have no reason to apologize. =P

Hope you feel better soon, David. If it feels like it’s getting worse, try to take some water with you when you go to bed, because you might not feel up to going to get some later.

David, have you any sort of humidifier? They can help when you’re trying to sleep. I found I needed to sleep half sitting up, which was no fun, but better than trying to sleep flat.

Hope you feel better!! Mulled cider and cinnamon toast are my under the weather cures.
