I’m too migrainey to brain properly today, so instead I give you some raver dudes dancing (?) to Yakety Sax. And, no, they weren’t really dancing to Yakety Sax, but I do kind of love the idea of vast fields full of people raving out to old novelty songs.

That works really well as a soundtrack for almost anything, but I worry that it isn’t helping your migraine. Feel better!
Hope your migraine clears soon, David. 🙁
Feel better soon, David! Hopefully you can take a nap with the kitties; I know that always helps me feel better.
I have this drug prescribed for my migraines: http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-7741-Sumatriptan+Succinate+Oral.aspx?drugid=7741&drugname=Sumatriptan+Succinate+Oral
It works super fast, so long as I take it as soon as I feel one coming on. YMMV.
Forgot to add: the pills are really small, which is great when I have problems swallowing due to onset of migraine.
I will never not be amused by people dancing to novelty songs.
This seems a good place to leave this…
Sorry to hear about your head David. Not sure you should be watching any screen, but I find a neck massage can help – or at least provide something pleasant to offset the awfulness that is migraine.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Sorry about the migraine, those are no fun.
More brain bleach — a Swedish man doing what we’re all meant to do (i.e. dropping everything and endangering himself in icy water to rescue a kitty):
Now there’s a bloke who really is nice, and a lot more!
I wonder how kitty managed to get stuck under the ferry?
Sorry about your migraine David. Hope it gets better soon.
Ow, ow, ow, ow… Ow.
I hope your head stops hurting, soon!
Ugh…migraines. Do you ever get that aura in front of your eyes beforehand? that’s how I know one is coming on and start popping the Tylenols lol. Hope you feel better soon David!
Maybe you’ll make a post on this news article sometime? http://www.newrepublic.com/article/116768/latest-target-mens-rights-movement-definition-rape
Anyone else feel like reading it? because I can’t even bring myself to read it or even the comments. It’s sad how often serious topics cause my eyes to glaze over now since it always devolves into a shitstorm. Feminism vs MRM, rape vs false accusations….I just can’t anymore 🙁
I’m starting to think that this is one of the reasons why the older you get, the more you just become apathetic to social issues and throw your hands up and say “fuck it I don’t care anymore”
Hope your migraine feels better soon, David.
Is Yakety Sax the official soundtrack of the MRM? It should be.
Quakers, the comments in that article are kind of hilarious. The MRAs really came out in force. There’s a ton of Godwin in there and one awesome commenter who trolled the MRA whiners.
Quackers, that story… It’s one of those “let’s lean over backwards to be extra gentle with those poor misogynists because maybe they have a point” stories. No mainstream publication would say “let’s lean over backwards to be extra gentle with those poor White Rights/Aryan Nations groups,” but for some reason it’s okay with sexist bigots.
(Well, they’ll do it with the more subtle bigots — like people who don’t support gay marriage, and standard “dog whistle” variety racists, but not openly hateful bigots of Elam’s ilk.)
weirwoodtreehugger, Let me guess — the MRAs in the comments don’t think the author was supportive enough, right?
Yes, they called it a hit piece. I thought it was gentle with them too.
@weirwoodtreehugger
It’s like that for any article on gender or feminism, they’re always there. Man I can’t even keep up with all these articles and issues and my life is pretty boring lol
@Cloudiah
Why am I not surprised. I don’t understand the point of articles like that, because even if you can acknowledge that most of the things MRAs bring up are legitimate issues (like we’ve done here numerous times) it will never be good enough for MRAs if you criticize their tactics in any way or refuse to completely discard feminism.
Those raver dudes are dancing on, what, turf? How do they get their feet to do the glidy thing? The grass must be all smashed flat from the passage of so many feet.
@LBT: I needed that laugh. Thanks.
@cloudiah: And I needed that d’awww. I couldn’t swim like that guy did coming back with the cat. I tried to show Beloved my kick a couple years ago in the pool and ended up drifting away from the side where I’d propped myself. Yes, my kick makes me go backwards.
Well, at least you can float and go somewhere, Falconer, even if it’s the wrong direction. I never even floated in water. 😀

I was going to ask the same thing. Though I get more of a starring, where I have a blind spot directly where I’m looking, Makes it really hard to read anything.
But I take nurofen. Tylenol has never been a big thing here in Australia – and after hearing the This American Life story about it, I’m not suprised. It is so much more dangerous than the people selling it say it is.
I have found that all action movies are greatly improved by the application of either Yakety Sax to any and all chase scenes and Entry of the Gladiators to the fight scenes.
Another way to improve your movie experience is to replace all complicated orders with “DO THINGS!” and all complicated technobabble with “DO SCIENCE.”
This is why I’m terrible to watch movies with.
Reminds me of what a cruel friend once said – she wanted to get a mutual friend and me to watch historical movies together, ‘cos we’d do nothing but point out all the shit they get wrong. 😛
