So, there’s a whole bunch of MRA stuff I should be writing about now, and some Roosh drama, but, you know, my heart just isn’t in it at the moment. So I’m going to take a few more days off to clear my head. In the meantime, I would suggest keeping up with the latest MRA and PUA shenanigans by checking out the AgainstMensRights and TheBluePill subreddits, respectively.
Also, I thought you all might appreciate this video of a cat discovering snow for the first time.
And Happy New Year! Or did I already wish you guys that?
If you are talking about what I think you are ? Its proven to reduce nausea over and over in studies . Not telling you what to do but ….
Actually that’s probably a good idea, since it has anti-nausea properties. Hugs and here is a relaxing song off the CD my parents always used to play when I was sick.
Main risk with vomiting is dehydration. Sip on fluids. Eat popsicles etc.
Nope, not at all. Only side effect would be being stoned. It would probably help you feel a lot better. I’d only hold off if you were planning on driving anywhere.
All right, thanks guys. I’ve used it before to reduce nausea, and it helps, but I think it’s important to second-guess myself before I use a substance like that. I can’t ever be too careful.
Ally — only risk I can see is a coughing fit (and I used to smoke A Lot). As for doctors registering it and telling your parents, nope. On multiple levels. First off, you’re an adult, they legally cannot tell your parents shit without your consent. Second, I HIGHLY doubt they’ll run a drug test when your main/only symptom is vomiting.
As a non-smoker, I have no idea. But I know for a fact that staring at corgis always makes me feel better.
That’s a relief. For some reason, it didn’t occur to me that they would require my consent for the disclosure of my drug usage. It’s probably because I always think of myself as a kid even though I’m of legal adult age, so I often fail to consider that adult laws actually apply t me. =P
Ally, I think you might have a viral stomach infection. I felt gross for about two days here, not vomiting but definitely queasy, followed by a bout of nasty diarrhea as the virus passed downward. It IS Norwalk Virus season, too, so that’s a definite possibility…it always strikes in winter. All you can really do with that bug is wait it out, try to keep your meals down (even if you only manage to drink them, or eat small portions at frequent intervals) and rest and stay hydrated. Ginger or peppermint tea might also help with the nausea. And yes, a puff of the Helpful Herb works too.
Hang in there!
Lemon is far more acidic than ginger .Ginger tea wins hands down for nausea. Its more alkaline. You can’t add sugar either.
Anyway for next time (God forbid) remember ginger tea. (unsweetened)
Your main risk as far as I’m concerned is smoking it . Very bad for your lungs. Its never good to put smoke in your lungs.
Very true. Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier for me and my brother to find weed by itself than edibles, which I prefer due to the absence of smoke and its accompanying smell. And while it’s possible for me to get hash for making hash oil (the key ingredient in edibles), I can’t really make that in this house for obvious reasons. =P The best thing for me to do for now is to smoke way less.
Anyway…it seems that smoking was the right decision. >_> I feel dissociated from my fatigue now. And I generally don’t feel nearly as miserable as I did before I smoked.
If it’s a stomach bug it might be a good idea to brew up some ginger tea and just keep sipping for the next few days – works as a preventative as well as a cure.
Mint ginger tea works for me when I’m nauseous – Tetley’s have it in teabags.
What do you folks think about coming out to the family on Facebook (once I’m with katz)? I want to do it because it’ll let me come out to people who I know are supportive, but perhaps there are some possible consequences I’m unaware of.
@auggz
They don’t. But they might end up being supportive. One time I was joking with my youngest sister (8-years-old) about me looking “like a girl” during a family reunion due to having long hair. And she said “I don’t care if you look like a girl. Be confident about how you look!” She also thinks that it’s wrong for the family to pressure me to get a haircut. I know those aren’t the most telling signs, but they give me hope.
Your little sisters seem like sweethearts, Ally. I am sure they will be supportive.
