Feminism is like anti-obedience school for dogs, explains Men’s Rights Redditor

Apparently feminism has turned the lovely and obedient ladies of yore into a bunch of wild wolves and dingoes — by preventing men from “putting the foot down” when ladies misbehave. At least that’s what the always awful Men’s Rights Redditor who calls himself Alisdair_ and the 41 terrible people who’ve upvoted his comment so far think:

Alisdair_ 25 points 1 day ago* (41|16) Naw. Men are the ones with the problem. Men are ruining society. Men need to pick up the slack. Men need to do this. Men need to do that. Nag nag nag nag nag. And you women wonder why we'd rather play video games than work or live with you... It's like with a dog. If you let the dog do anything it wants to uncontested it will soon try to outright dominate you. Bite, bully and piss on you. People too are like this to an extent, some more than others, and in particular I find that a lot of women are like this or have an inclination to fall into bad habits there as all these bullying and mocking articles exemplify in my humble opinion. In the west it's basically become illegal to put the foot down to this if it's a woman doing it to you. So if you live with a woman you have to put up with it or you'll be in jail soon for some bogus lie told to the police. In contrast a well mannered and trained dog, one subject to consequences for bad behavior, can be an amazing and fulfilling companion. Imagine if you will if there was a feminism for dogs and you basically had to live with wild wolves and dingos. You'd see a dramatic drop in people with dogs.

Thanks to chewinchawingum in the AgainstMensRights subreddit for pointing out this lovely quote. Huh. There’s something that seems oddly familiar about chewinchawingum.

Reading the comments on the “what’s so bad about men having some input on abortion?” one. Best bit:

my feminazi radar is going off the charts! Saying a man doesn’t get to make decisions about HIS baby is like saying he doesn’t get to plan his own wedding.

I have questions!

1) What is your feminazi radar triggered by? Does it go off when people casually compare other people disagreeing with them to the Holocaust? Ding ding ding!

2) Did the last man/woman wedding you attended actually take place inside the body of the woman? That is an unusual venue!

But not being able to control women’s bodies is basically misandry!

So I was looking for feminist groups on DA and if you search for feminism, the first two that come up are both MRA groups 9_9 I can tell they are bona fide MRAs because one features the fabled two-dot ellipsis in the group description!

noooo they’ve infaltrated DA! 😮 Not that I should be suprised, since it’s not a huge feminist beacon of happiness, but still gives me a sad.

I do actually watch one feminist group on DA (fade found it :P) if you were looking for some to watch and want links.

I tried my hand at making a work of MRA art. I think I’m having trouble with step 1.

It’s brilliant 😀

2. Did woman really want to be like men

Place yourself in the shoes of a common laborer. What is your day like?

Women were at least half of the workers in a lot of turn of the century American factories. They were the majority of the victims of the Triangle Shirtwaiste fire. So much for only men being “disposable”.

Even now, women appear to make up large chunks, if not the majority, of waitstaff and retail workers. I’m not saying waiting tables and stocking shelves are harder than mining coal, but they are still physically demanding and pain-inducing. And then these women are expected to go home and do the cooking and cleaning and child-rearing.

Bonus points for “place yourself in the shoes of a common laborer”. As if that kind of work is just so rare these days.

Kitteh, your poster made me audibly go “Pffffffft!”

You guys are all awesome and we can make more amazing art overnight than the MRM has made ever. Don’t forget to post them all to our DeviantArt group!

Yeah… I’m a philosopher nowadays (which is a physically simple and completely male-dominated job) but I’ve worked in a factor and for quite a lot of years as a practical nurse. That’s heavy work!

Factory. Worked in a factorY.

Regarding abortion, I do realize that it can be painful to have the person you slept with having an abortion if you wanted to be a father yourself upon hearing the news. Therefore, I think that IF IT WERE POSSIBLE for the would-be father to bring the fetus home with him in some kind of high-tech aquarium thing where it could grow to a full baby, he should have the right to do so.
But he should NOT have the right to decide what stays or doesn’t stay in the woman’s own body.

Glad y’all like my poster!

MRAs overlook that women do the majority of agricultural work in the world today, but men own something like 95% of the land. Those same women are likely to be the ones doing most if not all the childraising and general household work. Yeah, such terrible misandry, that is.

They have a really hard time with this. History isn’t exactly their strongest subject. It’s as though they truly believe that men only went to work and women only stayed home to look after kids. And child labour didn’t exist, unless it’s to prove that male children went to work too. It’s really not that complicated, but they’re so classist that they have a hard time seeing that what rich people did (and what we’ve romanticized about them) =/= what the majority of the population did.

kittehserf

And that looking after kids isn’t actually work. Or that things like washing days in the 19th century were the fucking worst, absolute back-breaking labour. One of the reasons women flocked to the factories in the early part of that century was that, despite the shit pay and incredibly dangerous conditions, it was still better than the agricultural labour they’d been doing (when that hadn’t disappeared altogether, what with enclosure and industrialisation).

MRAs fail at everything except hate. They’re cesspools of ignorance and malice.

IF IT WERE POSSIBLE for the would-be father to bring the fetus home with him

OK, that made me think of some kind of “doggie bag” for the fetus. Daddy bag?

(Not that I think many men would actually do this, even if they got all that sweet child support money from the woman.)

It could be like the little plastic bag they give you to take goldfish that you buy/win at the fair home with you in! This is totes practical and not at all an absurd suggestion.

Dvärghundspossen

*lol* @Arctic Ape: I think some men would do it if it were possible. I think it does happen that men, on hearing of their partners unplanned pregnancy, suddenly gets all paternal and really wants the baby. However, I think the majority of men who goes on about how totes unfair it is that the woman gets to decide about abortion on her own wouldn’t really do it.
That’s actually one reason I’d really like to see that fetus doggy bag invented – if it were possible and a few, but very few, men used it, conservatives wouldn’t be able to trot out this stupid argument about the unfairness of abortion any longer. Even the more general argument about how abortion is baby killing would lose most of its sting, because you could just reply “Well then, let’s set up adoption centers at all abortion clinics then! Let the fetus-concerned citizens queue up for a fetus to take home with them!”.

“Well then, let’s set up adoption centers at all abortion clinics then! Let the fetus-concerned citizens queue up for a fetus to take home with them!”.

I really, really want this to happen. I also want the pro-life movement to adopt the moniker ‘Fetus-Concerned Citizens’. I also want a barker standing at the front of the queue yelling “Fetus! Get yer fetus here!” and wearing a sandwich board with a fetus picture on it, like an Uncle Sam fetus looking at the viewer and pointing, with a “We Want YOU to Take Us Home” caption.

Tracy – I want the barker to have a striped shirt and braces and bowler hat and cane. And side whiskers. Got to do this thing properly.

What this idiot doesn’t realize is that women don’t like to be explicitly compared to dogs, it’s gauche, even if he’s attempting to get across reasonable things (disciplining your family, etc)
