Silly Fidelbogen! Tricks are for kids!

It’s labor day here in the US of A, a day for picnics, parades honoring our nation’s workers, and going through Fidelbogen’s timeline on Twitter looking for especially obtuse tweets from the always obtuse Men’s Renaissance Agitator and would-be philosopher-king of the Men’s Rights movement.

Yes, I know we just did Fidelbogen the other day, but we’re doing him again.

Because it’s my blog, that’s why!

And it’s worth it. Because Fidelbogen, who apparently fancies himself some sort of evil rhetorical genius taking down feminism with he power of his mighty words, has a knack for saying out loud what a lot of Men’s Rightsers think.  As I pointed out the other day, he’s admitted straight up that he’s far more interested in attacking feminists than in actually helping men. Which is clearly the case with most MRAs, as evidenced by their complete and utter lack of accomplishment in the whole “actually helping men” arena.

In his tweets, he often goes further, exposing the dishonest nature of these attacks on feminism. Indeed, a good portion of his tweets are basically him twirling his moustache as he explains the devious trickery he’ll be using to take the evil feminists down.

Here he is in full supervillain mode:

One of Fidey’s favorite themes is that he and his MRA buddies can define feminism, so suck on that, femmies!

Indeed, he won’t shut up about it:

Yeah, dude. Trust us — we know.

And here he suggests he’s far more interested in pulling women down than in raising men up:

What’s this? Straight up misogyny?

Oh, sorry, misogyny doesn’t exist.

Or … does it?

Do try to keep your story straight, dude!

Fidey is the master of baffling metaphor:

Ok, that didn’t make sense. Let’s try this one:

Huh. Pisspots, however unsavory, do at least serve a useful function. Is Men’s Rights Activism thus the equivalant of peeing on the floor?

Too complicated. Fidey tries a simpler metaphor:

And then marches off into the land of incoherence once again.

And then accidentally stumbles upon a truth:

Read that one over again, Fidey, and take a good hard look at yourself.

@ Andrew: I didn’t say that Fidelbogen was a particularly effective supervillain, more Calender Man than the Joker.

Mill dew?

What?

MaudeLL

Does that mean we get to define MRA? Yay! I’m tempted to go full Godwin here. Or I can define it Fidey-twitter-style:
“The MRM is like a lump of pus that no longer attracts the cockroaches of wrath, but instead slowly dries into its own demise into the abyss of superficiality, longing for revenge against its own illusions of grandeur.”

Or in Fiddle Bogan’s case, mildew.

I wonder if he tries talking like a cartoon villain, too?

We needn’t treat feminists fairly or ethically.Underhanded tricks r the order of the day, BUT. . nothing violent or illegal!

‘Cause nothing violent or illegal is “underhanded”!

…Right…?

Always remember that when we talk about “feminism”, we mean #Feminism as WE define that term.

As vaguely and inaccurately as possible? Convenient!

“Misogyny” is a nonsense word that feminists use when men won’t take any crap from them. Misogyny doesn’t really exist.

“Misandry” is a nonsense word petulant man-children use when women won’t take being treated like shit by them…

The power of the human brain to block what it doesn’t want to know, is hard to exaggerate.

Good thing you work as a walking, talking example of such!

Fidobogen’s brain is so well shielded it could probably block a small nuclear strike.

Fidelbogen’s apartment is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, full of the dew from the mill. #seriouslydudetrycleaning #repurposingStarWarsquotes

Fidelbogen doesn’t like feminism either. Feminists just watch yourselves. We’re wanted men. (Not by women.) Fidelbogen has the death sentence on twelve systems. #MosIsleyArmy

The ability to destroy a feminist is insignificant next to the imagined power of Fidelbogen’s mangry tweets. #DeathStarMisandry

Fidelbogen’s tweets are as clumsy or random as a blaster; obtuse weapons for a more bitter age. #FidelbogenVSObiWan

I’d say shorthand for second-wave feminism, but this is Fiddle, so nope, no idea.

Hey also, did you hear about the two kittens that shut down part of the NYC subway system for hours? Here they are:

kittehserf

Poor babies! Were they wild kittens or lost?

cloudiah

They were wild. NYC not only shut down the subway for 2 hours, they cut off electricity so the kitties wouldn’t be electrocuted on the “3rd rail.” They were eventually caught and taken to a shelter.

“I assume fem2 is where AVFM sends a robot back in time to kill Betty Friedan’s mother.”

Ha! Good one.

He talks non-stop about feminism, but I have a strong feeling he doesn’t go out much. Or um, reads books.

He posted — “The power of the human brain to block what it doesn’t want to know, is hard to exaggerate.”

Yes. Yes indeed, little one.

kittehserf

Don’t know, because the only thing I know about Robin Thicke is what I read two minutes ago on The Vagenda – and I was too pissed off with their fuckwitted “if you haven’t been living under a rock [add various musical-taste jokes] you’ll know all about this by now” article to bother with it.

I take it he’s another misogynist piece of shit.

cloudiah

Ally, I feel a little like they were trying to be as terrible as (or worse than, castration mentions) Thicke, and that isn’t a good road to travel down.

Ally S

@cloudiah

I think they mentioned “castration” as a way to mock ridiculous attitudes towards feminism (you know that stereotype about feminists being man-hating castrating lesbians), but I thought it was tasteless and unnecessary.

L'Âne d'Eau

I have no doubt MRAs are more interested in opposing feminism than helping men. Actually, the two endeavors are arguably antithetical.

I once had access to the complete archive of a native anti-feminist blog which had been shut down due to problems with the legal authorities. Going through its posts, besides the obvious sexism and racism (dude was quite a fascist himself), it was astonishing to see how much time he dedicated to lambast any male who failed to live up to his very narrow definition of masculinity. That blogger was doing more harm to men than any of his imaginary strawfeminist conspiracies could ever do.

(sorry for the interruption, now do go on)

kittehserf

Hi, L’Âne d’Eau! Are you newly delurked, or a regular under a new name? 🙂

L'Âne d'Eau

Hi, kitteh. I lurked here for a while around a year ago and then when into ostracism. Now I came back to check how things were, and decided to interact a little.

I don’t think I posted anything in that past period. If I did, I assure it was totally unremarkable.

cloudiah

@L’Âne d’Eau, You are very welcome. Interact more, if you feel like it! 🙂

What does your name mean? My French is abysmal.

L'Âne d'Eau

cloudiah: I don’t speak French, though I like to pretend I do. 😛 The story behind the name is a little bit complicated, but I’ll try to remember it correctly…

Once upon a time there was a Russian physicist called Lev Landau. He was called by his friends simply “Dau,” and he liked to joke that his family name was actually French: “L’Ane Dau,” meaning the donkey Dau. I remembered this anecdote while I was trying to come up with a username for WordPress, but unfortunately “lanedau” was already taken. So, I added an e to it and got “L’Ane d’Eau” which apparently means water donkey. Which is very silly, not that I come to think of it…

(btw, you can call me however you want, I don’t really mind)

cloudiah

Water donkey was the translation I got out of it, which seemed odd. But now that I know you are aware of the sillness, it isn’t so bad! 😀 Welcome!

KITTENS!!!

*cough* sorry, please continue as you were

kittehserf

I thought it meant water donkey too, and was trying to remember an old folk tale, but that’s whatever-the-French-is for donkey skin – the heroine had a cloak made of a donkey’s hide, I think.

Anyways, welcome! 🙂

@Ally S: fairly good parody. I’ve only ever heard parodies of that song. A song with the title “Blurred Lines” strikes me as far too rapey.
And of course, MRA’s have invaded the comment’s section of the video complaining about their use of the term “man’s world” and how this video is as sexist as the original.
Translation: “Stop oppressing us with your songs about being oppressed! “
