antifeminism are these guys 12 years old? douchebaggery irony alert men who should not ever be with women ever misogyny PUA rhymes with roosh taking pleasure in women's pain that's not funny!

Pickup guru Roosh and his buddies think women drowning is just hilarious

Even babies are disgusted by Roosh
Even babies are disgusted by Roosh

Some of you may have noticed that I often tag my posts here with the phrase “Men Who Should Not Ever Be With Women Ever.” From time to time I worry that I’m being a tad harsh. After all, not all of these fellas are totally irredeemable, right? Right?

And then I run across some guys for whom my tag is if anything a gross understatement. So today, some Men Who Should Not Ever Be With Women Ever Ever Ever Ever Ever. And our dear old friend Roosh, the woman-hating woman-chaser, heads up the list.

The other day on Roosh’s forum, some twisted asshole posted a link to a news story about two hikers who had been rescued after getting lost in the fog in a state park in Maine — only to drown after accidentally driving off a boat launch on their way out of the park and getting trapped in their minivan.

Oh yeah, they were women.

The commenter on Roosh’s forum thought this was hilarious “proof of the equality of the genders, except when it comes to navigation, opening doors, etc.”

While a few of the commenters reacted like decent human beings and pointed out that this story wasn’t actually funny — raising the question of why they were hanging out on Roosh’s forum in the first place — others joined in with their own “jokes.”

Roosh himself set the tone, seizing on the detail that one of the women had called for help on her cell phone as as the minivan sank.

This is what happens when you create a culture of helpless women dependent on the state for everything.

The LAST thing I would think of in their case is to make a phone call with a car filling with water. Too bad they were idiots, but god gave them a chance at life on the mountain. He just said “fuck it” and let them die.

Regular forum contributor Scorpion added:

I really don’t understand how the fuck it’s possible to drive your car at full speed off a boat ramp and then have your first response be to pull out your fucking cell phone.

It’s a good case study for what happens to women when left to their own devices in a world without men. Completely and utterly helpless in a crisis. Any time something goes wrong, just pick up the phone and call a man to fix it.

Lady, that might work when it’s your basement is filling up with water, but not when it’s the sinking car you’re sitting in.

The death of the unborn baby was like a mercy-kill from God. If they had lived, no doubt the dimwitted mother would have found some other way to kill them both, like leaving the gas on or dropping a radio in the tub while bathing the baby. Amazing she made it to her late 30s. I wonder how many times the men in her life have bailed her out before.

And someone called Divorco offered his two cents as well:

This is not funny, it is a terrible tragedy
.
.
.
.
… because an innocent dog died too.

There’s more of this, much more.

And these are men who honestly think they’re inherently superior to women.

Thank goodness there’s so much awesome in this thread to balance out the awfulness of the post. Seriously, drowning sounds like one of the worst ways to die. I can’t imagine how scary and terrible the last minutes of their lives must have been. What the fucking shit is the matter with these people?

(Don’t answer that, I know…)

Whenever I see things like this from the MRM, I think about how the defense would be “well, some feminists flat out wanted to kill and castrate men, at least we don’t talk aboutthat!!1″ Then I wonder how long it will be until we start seeing that shit. Hell, I think it was Barbarossa who said he fully supports FGM (and clearly women dying is already hilarious). How long do you think it will be until we have a MRM “S.C.U.M. Manifesto?”

BTW I won’t be surprised if there already is one. Not at all.

The only animals I dislike enough to do that to them are wasps (and related buzzing stingy things). Crickets are cute.

Martin Freeman feels like I feel about this, and also looks kind of like the disapproving baby while he’s at it.

Hey, who else saw this racist-ass “Asian girls” song? I had to double check to make sure it wasn’t the same people who did that awful “Women of LA” song.

Btw, regardless of Solanas’s sanity before or after writing the S.C.U.M. Manifesto, I believe it can be read as (and may or may not have been intended as) a brilliantly effective piece of reversal-as-satire.

Basically Solanas took centuries of men’s talk about women, and flipped it around, saying the worst things she and her friends had thought or observed about men and generalizing it the way men had generalized bullshit about women with impunity. Men immediately seized on it and have been upset about it ever since, although in general (Manboobz commentariat exempted) white men don’t really have such qualms about their fellow men continuing to say and/or having said equally vile shit about women. Or nonwhite people, or gender-nonconforming people, or gay/lesbian people, etc.

So as an alternate reading of the piece, you could interpret it as an early “GenderSwap” find/replace app crossed with Swift’s “A Modest Proposal.” It really highlights some discrepancies between the way polemics ‘up’ the ladder (aimed at higher-status individuals) are treated as opposed to polemics directed ‘down’ the ladder (aimed at the disadvantaged by the privileged).

… and obviously most modern feminists, much less women at large, are not Valerie Solanas. Most women haven’t even *heard* of The S.C.U.M. Manifesto, much less done an uncritical reading of it and decided to literally act upon it as outlined in the work.

Conservation of knowledge FTW! 🙂

Would hoping they turn into itty bitty crickets and then fall in the puffer tank come too close to wishing them death? If so, maybe they can help me straighten my cactus, it’s trying to climb out the window sideways (aka leaning towards the sun)

@ katz

Bonus stupid – those look like yakuza tattoos. Stupid white boys really should avoid pissing off women who come from yakuza families, unless they want to end up as an entry in the next Darwin Awards book.

@guffaw-ferrets

I admit I’m just using it as the ultimate example of male hatred, whether or not it really deserves that (I just couldn’t think of anything else). I really need to actually read that book myself, I’ve had a few perfectly reasonable people tell me it isn’t that bad.

I think it was Rexx Patriarch who said he supported FGM. It was on a youtube video I saw a few years back. I tried to find it recently but could not.

… By “not bad” I mean “don’t take it literally,” obviously if she’s %100 serious it’s awful.

Pfft, one?! The internet’s full of them. And unlike the SCUM Manifesto, some of them have actual body counts. Anders Breivik anyone?

@Alice

I know it was someone on YouTube anyway, it very well could have been him.

Oh Solanas, to finally have my complaint about the Warhol museum bit devoted to her be understood (it’s more than you’d expect, idk why that place is so famous, I didn’t think it worth the $9)

Context there — pecunium and I, looking at some Warhol prints. And my gripe about the Warhol museum made sense for once! Well, I think, he didn’t indicate that it didn’t…

On topic — yeah, it could be read as decent satire. I guess it’d depend whether she meant it. Though, does it matter if it was meant as satire if it can be read as satire? Since it doens’t matter if it was meant as satire if it isn’t assumed to be satire…I guess it wouldn’t really be satire since you’d probably need to have that pointed out?

Literature is so not my thing.

On the actual subject of the post, there’s a certain irony in guys who openly celebrate the death of a couple of random women by drowning (one of the nastier ways to die) wondering why they have such a hard time getting laid. Think that violent misogyny might be just a teensy bit obvious to the women they interact with?

I wouldn’t say it does — Death of the Author and all that jazz. As long as it functions as a satire, I don’t care if it was intended to.

baileyrenee

@Cassandrasays

But the not getting laid came first, so the violent misogyny is okay, right??

Seeing how literature is really not my string suit, I’m just going to assume you’re right 🙂

As for that video, wtf did I just watch? That’s an actual music video, and a decent budget one at that. And, while incredibly racist, she seems to be enjoying herself. I mean, acting, obviously, but okay enough with it to come off as having fun.

Cassandra — stupid white boys should avoid pissing off women from yakuza families because she might have shrinking potion?

Besides O HAI YOUR RACISM IS SHOWING I have no idea what to make of that.

baileyrenee

Honestly I have no idea, but that seems to be the justification anyway. “Women don’t like me because feminism made them mean, so they can go get beat up and die.”

CassandraSays

Nobody who wasn’t a misogynist to begin with would accept the idea that if women won’t fuck you they deserve to die in various unpleasant ways. There’s just no way to spin that kind of thing.

baileyrenee

Oh, I totally agree. With guys like this there was always a problem, and the only way it could possibly never get this bad is if every woman worshiped the ground they walked on (and even then it probably would get pretty goddamn bad).

CassandraSays
CassandraSays

The fact that they expect other people to buy the idea that women not fucking them is a valid reason for their misogyny is pretty funny, in a grim sort of way. They seem to have some issues with the whole separation between self and others issue – they don’t quite get how unreasonable that logic sounds to most people because it seems perfectly valid to them.

Argenti Aertheri
Argenti Aertheri

Seconding Cassandra. Most people, finding themselves unable to procure sexytimes with other people, question where they are lacking and need to improve. These guys assume the problem is that literally every woman is against them. Not someone reasonable like “maybe I need to work on approaching women in an appropriate manner” or “how do I make my feelings known without creeping her out?” Nope, go straight to “she should die” do not pass go do not collect $200.

Hell, two rapist ex’s and a gaslighting narcissist, all cis men (seriously Argenti, you need to screen your dates better) — don’t see me cheering when horrible things happen to men. Fuck, see parathentical about how *I* need to correct this. (Or not date, which is kinda my current solution)

Reasonable — what am I doing wrong here?
Unreasonable — all women are evil and should die

You don’t arrive at unreasonable without precursors being there before you get turned down.

And I’ve been set to babble mode apparently!
