Men’s Rights Redditor: Maybe feminism is “a time bomb planted by them camel jockeys on the ‘western’ world.”

Today, a brief foray into racist conspiracy theory, courtesy of the Men’s Rights subreddit. This is from a discussion of British Prime Minister David Cameron’s internet porn ban, which the Men’s Rightsers seem to think was orchestrated by the evil feminist overlords.

k66sh 5 points 1 day ago* (5|0) Sometimes think feminism is just a time bomb planted by them camel jockeys on the 'western' world. Soon they'll don those burquas and cite it as a victory for women - no more Male Gaze (TM) jabberwockysuperfly 1 point 1 day ago (1|0) Replace 'camel jockeys' with 'Marxist culture assassins' and you're spot-on.

Lovely! You may wish to peruse k66ish’s comment history for many other nuggets of wisdom that may involve use of the word “cunt.”

Thanks to Cloudiah for pointing this one out in the comments here.

Feminists are Marxist culture assassins.

That is such a stupid sentence that repeating it is enough to show how dumb it is.

In b4 MRAs refuse to claim him so we can’t accuse them of racism

Do Marxist culture assassins assassinate Marxist culture, or are they Marxist assassins who assassinate any kind of culture?

Ah, and I see that k66sh advocates rounding Muslims up and shooting them. What a fucking racist asshat.

The real hardcore Marxists don’t like Western feminism at all, actually.

I know–the Islamists (“camel jockeys”) and the Marxists worked together to create feminism! And we won’t be happy until all women are wearing burqas! It all makes sense now!

Wait…no it doesn’t. Seriously, that’s stupid even by MRA standards. Which makes it weapons-grade stupid.

It would make an excellent FPS video game series.

In one paragraph he mentioned burqas as a negative — after mentioning feminism as a negative. Does he think there are feminists in the middle east who developed burqas to prevent men from having boners? You know, misandry?

Here’s a timebomb:

So having to opt in to access porn is culture assassination, hmm?

Nice to know what these bonerdroners’ priorities are.

‘Cultural Marxism’ is a term dear to racists and bigots who use it to feel all smug and intellectual about whining how society doesn’t allow them to be bigoted. Anyone who uses this term can safely be identified as such.

And we won’t be happy until all women are wearing burqas!

Which is why feminists created Slut Walk! It’s all part of our super seekrit plan to make women wear burquas. Shh, don’t tell anyone.

Also, not that I would support a ban on internet porn, but as many things as I can find to criticize about my native culture I’m fairly sure it has more to offer the world than porn, and thus banning porn would not actually “assassinate” British culture.

Yes, and he talks about the “male gaze” like it’s a sacred thing. Damn, does he know there’s a female gaze as well?

Cassandra – yep, I’ve been in love with England and English history for well over forty years, and I can’t recall that porn played any part in that.

The UK popped into being on the same day Page 3 did, and it could vanish just as easily.

BlackBloc (@XBlackBlocX)

“Cultural Marxism” is one of those anti-Semitic dog whistles, like “International Bankers”. It’s used to push forward anti-Semitic tropes with plausible deniability.

Cassandra – sshhhh, Rupert’s got enough of a power complex as it is.

BlackBloc – “International Bankers” reminds me of the crack on The Bill long ago: “I thought ‘merchant banker’ was rhyming slang.” Fits MRAs, doesn’t it?

@Shiraz

Thanks for the link. In the comments someone named Jordan is complaining that women complain too much about male perspective in film and that women should just make their own films. It’s like this person did not even read the article. :/

Well, I’m more of a socialist, but I’ll give this assassin thing a try, I guess, Watch your back, culture!

I always wonder exactly what the reactionaries of the world think “Marxism” entails. Not too much, but I do.

Mostly that all who’s tangled up in that shit should be punished. Not just Groucho, Chico and Harpo, but the two younger ones, too.

You probably put more thought into it than they do.

These guys should read about the origin of the Muslim Brotherhood. One of its founders actually became radicalized because he visited the US and for some reason hated the American culture because men and women socialized together. Some Muslims actually think feminism comes out of Christianity.

I think they pretty much think it means that the wrong people (ie. not people like them) are in charge.

I was thinking about the female gaze because I just started watching Teen Wolf, which is all about the nearly nude male bodies and… *fans self* yum. What I found really interesting is how important it is for me personally for there to be a head involved to not feel disturbed – I’ve been watching this on tumblr, too. I find men in suits damn hot, but if their head is cut off I feel disturbed. Likewise, I find the slow-motion lingering look at exquisitely sculpted male bodies that are way too young for me very attractive, but if they just stopped on the bodies – if they didn’t end on the face and if there weren’t people attached to those bodies – I think I would quickly find it disturbing.

I have no idea how much this is tied into my politices, or into the fact that I find people more attractive than bodies (if that makes sense). What lured me to the show was – besides the Sterek fanpairing which twinges a ton of my tastes in two very awesome people – the personalities of the people. What’s keeping me is the gender politics. I wish they were better on race (oh gods I wish they were better on race) but I like what they’re doing with gender and that’ll prolly keep me.

Also… brooding, semi-incompetent, gorgeous man with tragic backstory plus smartass, witty, caring and generous gorgeous man with hidden demons equals very happy Deo.
