The flood water is receding, and there is no more flooding in the mountains and foothills, so we’re much safer now. And another storm shelter has been made for residents of Fort Collins – right on our side of the river (which is a good thing because the bridge across the Cache le Poudre river is closed off). The sky is clearing up, too.
Whew, I’m glad it’s starting to recede. Hopefully the worst is over, and things can calm down now. Sorry you’re going through this, Ally!

Okay, I don’t know what the heck just happened but all of a sudden I am really upset and feeling like a big, lazy fatass who is barely competent to work at McDonald’s, and a humongous whiner because I’m talking about it like this and I didn’t even really have a bad day or depression or anything, and anyway cishetwhitemale so what do I have to complain about? Except obviously I’m having a sad.
Cloudiah’s golden retrievers helped a lot, especially the one in the mailbox and the little one on top of the bigger one. Thanks!

And it’s wonderful that the floodwaters are receding at last, Ally!
I’ve got my fingers crossed for your chickens and your farm.

Ally — I’m useless in crisis unless I have practical advice, and I had nothing, hence my radio silence so far. But I’m glad things have stopped getting worse and ALL THE HUGS!
Falconer — you’ve managed to get not one, both two, infants to six months old. That’s way more work than flipping burgers.
Cloudiah — PUPPY IN MAILBOX!! *dies of cute overdose*

@Argenti: Yeah, I know, I’m mad skilled. But that little creeping anxiety voice in the back of my head never listens. And I know I have it easy, I hang out on Tumblr for chrissakes, it seems like the average Tumblrite is an asexual teen girl with anxiety attacks.
Anyway, I’m taking the focus off Ally and the flood.
I’m at my gate, waiting for the plane going back to San Jose. My mom, my step-dad, my little brother and all the pets are safe. The house in Erie that we evacuated seems to have sustained very little damage, according to one report from a neighbor. And while there are still some flood zones, the flooding has decreased significantly and there’s almost no rain in the Front Range.
My mom and my step-dad still don’t have a cell phone or laptop, and I really wanted to stay and help, but now that they’re around Denver they can easily get a temporary phone, which they were planning to get anyway. And from the looks of it, they’ll probably be able to get their old phone and laptop back as well. My reasons for going back to California on the scheduled date are complicated, so I’m not going to explain those for the time being. It’s a mess.

So sorry for the ordeal, but glad to know that you and your family and pets are all safe and it sounds like the house has survived too.
I’m glad things are going so well so far Aaliyah. It makes me sad that you’re going home though… after missing out on going to the LGBTQ session, and dealing with the flood, it’s not much of a buffer for dealing with your father again. *hugs* if you want them.

Dude, even the most privileged of privileged people are allowed to feel like shit for no reason. You are not allowed to beat on yourself for beating on yourself. 😛 You are a cool person; I hope it starts clearing up soon.

Ten cats who want to move to Brazil.
Pug dogs being redonk.
Cishetwhitemales are allowed to have anxiety. May it pass.
I can’t deal with the Roosh stuff, so here are some random kitties:
Kitty #1
Kitty #2
Kitties #3
Kitties #4
And this made me laugh.
The cat in the box killed me, those ‘ittle paws!
And silly kitty, it is banana, it is not threat!
It’s okay, Falconer. I feel like I’m useless too sometimes. These feelings come sometimes.
