Oh I have no problem returning it, but that’s her call to make. Unlike a promise to pay someone back…

Like, you owe me $300 so I’m not returning the violin you gave me. Stupids stupid huh? (And yes, mine cost about that much.)

It’s true, a promise to return money is really a binding obligation (even if it’s not legally enforceable), whereas an engagement obviously isn’t.

I’m the same way, Gillian. I sometimes have to remind myself to balance sad stuff with happy stuff.

re: rings

My mom’s first fiance gave her an expensive ring, but she broke off the engagement after he got another woman pregnant. He told her to keep the ring because he felt guilty about what happened. He ended up marrying the other woman but cheated on her too. I don’t know if she also kept the engagement and wedding rings from him.

I protest! I never shriek!! I prefer to drone on endlessly until I lull all the menz around me into a false sense of security (and a coma) and then spermjack them while they are asleep.

katz, you are betraying the hivemind. WOMEN GET ALL THE MONEY AND JEWELRY FOR KEEPS FROM ALL THE MEN ALL THE TIME. This has been an official communique from the feminist hivemind. Please return to your normal activities (eating bonbons, ululating/shrieking like harpies, crying in the streets, spermjacking, collecting welfare, making false rape accusations, etc.)

Oh wow, here is another comment from Peter South, a man on the marriage strike.

The man is literally selling his soul for a wet hole…when she feels like it.

It’s a shame he’s taken himself off the market.

And several said the old line “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?”. What’s the best comeback to that?

If you want a cow, buy a cow, assholes. We’re talking about a human being.

Seriously, there’s no good way to go. Every bit of the underlying ideas in there is poison.

Hrmn… as presented, the violin is gift. If it’s not then there is probably a tort (conversion), and then the countersuit over the money and it gets ugly).

I still have the engagement ring my former fiancée gave me. She has the one I gave her. Seems petty to ask it back. If she doesn’t want it then it’s hers. Oddly if she’d given it back that would have hurt more.

“Oddly if she’d given it back that would have hurt more.”

*mild guilt twinge* I returned it. Well, technically the brother I was speaking to did, but yeah, it got returned.

Argenti Aertheri

Oh and the violin was a gift from my grandfather. He’d sooner appoint another PoA than let my father return it. (Gods that’d get messy.)

Argenti: Different times, different people. I have another ring which was returned. I’m glad she didn’t keep it.

Ah, did you mean the ex from when you first got back? In which case I can infer the rest?

Argenti Aertheri

That was into the too personal realm wasn’t it? I’m sorry, my only excuse is this blasted heat and all the data have my brain as jello again.

This is from an ex… about 19 years ago.

If I wasn’t willing to entertain questions, I wouldn’t have mentioned her.

The Southern Poverty Law Center didn’t classify this site as general hate?

Funny how women are able to get away with hate speech, but The New Black Panther is classified as General hate.

BTW, I am not a fan of any type of hate. SPLC is full of it and needs to check it’s self.

Probably because it’s not a hate site. Also, not all of us are women.

RE: Greg

I’m a guy, and yet I don’t feel hated by this site at all. Possibly because I don’t do things like valorize rape and violence.

SittieKitty

It’s hatred by omission. If you’re talking about women and issues and don’t spend equal or greater time talking about men, or you point out that the majority perpetrators of violence of any kind are men, then *clearly* you hate all men! Because constructive discussions about societal problems is misandry!

katz

…You guys aren’t feeling the hate? I guess I’m not hating hard enough *hangs head*

Unh…. hunh. So you are saying the SPLC is full of shit. It’s not that you are arguing they don’t know what they are doing, oh noes… it’s that manboobz is a hate site.

Care to back that up. Show us where the actual hate for men is (as opposed to a lot of examples of some men being specifically hateful).

Or is is hate to shine light into the dark corners of the MRM/PUA “movements”?
