The Man Boobz Survey is up! Go take it! [UPDATE: Survey closes Thursday at 8 PM, EST]

Survey says: Actually, none of these are options on the Man Boobz survey
Survey says: Actually, none of these are options on the Man Boobz survey

Thanks to the hard work of Argenti Aertheri and the suggestions of various other Boobzers, the Man Boobz survey is now up and ready to be taken. It will give me — and all of you — a better picture of just what sort of people read Man Boobz on a regular basis. It’s completely anonymous. Go take it! It will only take a few minutes.

I will probably leave it up for a couple of days, and will report the results here as soon as the numbers are crunched.

I think pretty much any other question you might have about it will probably be answered on the survey itself, so hop to it!

Thanks Argenti!

Meller started taking me on personally and I stopped commenting because of it, I like making fun of him now, but he was very scary at the time. The ongoing saga of how all of his dolls left him did help.

@amandajane5

My furry overlord is not fond of hard chairs (or tile/cement ground- she won’t sit on them even with a treat in hand- she’ll pretend to but her furry ass does not touch the hardness) so I have become accustomed to sitting on soft, cushiony things. I do enjoy, however, watching ‘Real Men’ (not manginas) sit on hard surfaces.

In other words, I did not check off the hard chairs in the survey because I do not like them for myself- they are only good for perpetuating misandry.

His dolls left him???

I haven’t heard that one!

Meller, the man even the inanimate don’t want to be around.

Did the dolls deflate?

saintnick86 — tell my knees that!

Oh gods, DKM, I needed that laugh!

I think MRAL may’ve taken the survey, either that or someone else needs the attention proved by checking 25+ religions including Scientology (which basically rules out all the others).

Addendum — I’m not making a habit out of passing judgement on the results, but that one is just surreal.

“I think MRAL may’ve taken the survey”

And this is surprising? He is a “regular” here- although not really a Manboobzer- more like the Anti-Manboobzer.

Originally from Scotland, grew up all over the place. I ended up in the US because I came over on vacation and met this guy…I do like where I am most of the time, but if we end up with another Republican government I may have to reconsider.

Ahh! Yes, I can understand that. Looks like National (our middle-right, more like your Democrats really though from what I can tell) may be voted out in the next election. Same people who thought Labour (middle left) was doing a bad job when the newspapers told them so are now saying it about National. But Labour has little to distinguish it from National right now… I want to run away but there’s nowhere to go. :/

Cassandra – my bf in LA was seriously researching whether she could migrate here or NZ in ’08. I don’t know if she’d do it now, given changes in her situation, but yeah. I’m scared of how bad it’ll get here if the bloody Coalition (business stooges and redneck stooges) gets in come September. Trouble is, much as I’d love to get the hell out, I can’t. No money and no job skills/level of education that’d get me into another country. Plus, the countries I’d like to live in have governments that suck even worse than the Coalition, and much worse economies.

Stupid politics.  I want all the cool people to move here!

LBT | June 23, 2013 at 8:18 pm
Not gonna lie, when I was in New Zealand, I considered moving there. It was one of the happiest times of my life, my time there. Alas, now it’s pretty much a no-go. But at least I got to spend time outside my country and get used to a different way of living. I do miss the odd kindness towards strangers I kept encountering.

Aw, that’s cool. I keep wanting to β€œsave” my friends in the US from their country, even though they may not even like it hear! I have a couple of friends from the US who find NZ really repressive and conservative, which I think springs from being big-time creative people and if you’re in the right place in the US you can surround yourself with more liberal people? But it’s *really* annoying the way they complain about the religion and sexism here when everything I read makes it seem it is far, far worse in the US.

I mean there just isn’t the same stigma around being non-religious here, we only just got gay marriage but gay couples have had state recognised relationships for a long time, we have the most progressive laws on sex work pretty much internationally, the expectation to be feminine/wear makeup etc etc seems far less here and we’ve had multiple female Prime Ministers with nowhere near the fuss that crops up over there around female politicians. *shudder*

And, ignore the following if a derail is off limits, but I just had the most awkward couple hours with relatives :/ Early on my dad’s fiance is yelling at her 3 year old daughter for crawling around in a dress and β€˜showing everyone her diaper’ til the kid starts crying, and the whole thing was making me really uncomfy. And I was grumpy for the hour or two after so I didn’t really socialize much with relatives (not htat I wanted to much, kinda shy) and everyone probably thinks of me as the weird grumpy person now. /rant

What the fuuuuuuck. Re: toddler. I mean, what? Slut shaming a 3 year old, for wearing clothes you put her in and wanting to move??? :’( A million hugs from me if you want them.

Ha! No! Meller liked his dolls in porcelain and called them his little lovelies or some such. He came up with many names for the commentariat.

There was no chance that Mr. Al wouldn’t take the survey, hopefully only once.

I might as well introduce myself in this thread, as a long-time Manboobz fan and an infrequent commenter.

I’m a youngish, nerdy single guy with budding career in plant science. My experimental plants and assorted other vegetables in my care fill the social function of cats in my life. I’m generally a biology geek and very much feel the connection between humans and other animals, hence my nym.

I’m Finnish, and notice once again that we are (relative to population size) super active on English-language websites. I have been reading Manboobz (as well as few other feminist blogs) for a couple of years and I love the atmosphere here. I would very much like to think of myself as a Manboobzer, despite commenting only rarely.

I already picked one of those surplus welcome packages from when several were accidentally delivered to someone πŸ™‚

Oh dear, am I the only one who remembers Meller’s dolls? I think Ami started it, and it was a long time ago, but it was hilarious.

Ok. so how did his dolls “leave” him?

Hi Arctic Ape! Your English is so much better than my Finnish. If you like biology and dislike cats, make sure you read http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula I like cats and biology and sea creatures, and feminism and politics, so if any of those things turn you off, well you need to meet nicer cats. πŸ˜‰

Hi Arctic Ape! I am impressed by your interests, even though plants really fail to excite me like animals (animals including invertebrates).

I am constantly amazed by the standard of English, both written and spoken, from many Europeans and particularly Scandinavians. I worked with two Norwegian women doing work experience and their English was amazing. Just from school! I wish we were bilingual. πŸ™

Hi, Arctic Ape – I’ve seen your comments before, so here’s a proper Welcome Package in case you haven’t had one yet. πŸ™‚

AJ – I remember Meller’s dolls (I came in late in his time here) but not that they’d left him!

Yes, AJ, we are going to force you to look it up! Because JOURNALISM! This is a reputable publication with, you know, a reputation. For journalism. Really.

I was in hospital, so groggy, but I’m pretty sure at least one of the dolls committed suicide. DKM wasn’t someone you’d like to live with. Better than the milkman, but that’s damning with faint praise.
