So we learned the other day from that Man Going His Own Way that male violence was, like, totally the fault of evil sexy ladies. Now, from this Men’s Rights Redditor, we learn that homophobia — or at least homophobia directed at gay men — is all the fault of straight women and their desire for macho dudes. Because straight men don’t ever express any sort of hostility towards gay or effeminate men — it’s just those darn ladies!
But, huh, what about all those straight dudes who are always calling other dudes “gay” and, you know, that other word that starts with an “f?”
Well, apparently that’s just playful joshing. No harm, no foul! If anything, it shows how wonderfully tolerant of gayness these guys are. I mean, come on, if you can’t see this, you must be stupid, or something. Or so says this other Men’s Rights Redditor:
They’re just having a little fun. You’re not against fun, are you?
Thanks to the AgainstMen’sRights subreddit for pointing me to these quotes.
Clyde: . Specifically, white men as a group are generally considered subhuman by modern feminists…
Oh, really?
I have a few theories why feminists consider specifically white men subhuman, but that’s a comment for another day.
Why wait? Why make us suffer any longer?
Feddy: Clyde has already told you what he is talking about. He is giving you a look into the way life appears to many men
Many Christians think the world is persecuting them.
GGG thinks he will die if he doesn’t get the sex he thinks he deserves.
All of these are delusions.
You have shared some of yours. They are outside of my experience but I took the trouble of considering them.
No, you didn’t. Here’s why:
Unfortunately because you have taken the feminist toxin
That, my dear chap, is an actual ad hominem attack. No response to what Aruba said, just, “you are a feminist, ergo you are wrong”.
Notice that we aren’t doing that to you, or Clyde. We are explaining how our experience contradicts his/yours. Since you are making blanket claims, that’s all which need be done to show you are wrong.
Today, at the mall (crap, I forgot to get shaving cream), I had to pass by that Mecca of Feminism (The Yankee Candle Company) and they were advertising.., MAN CANDLES, scents like, “mown grass” and Bacon (mmm!).
I took a photo, but it’s still on my phone.
@Aruba
Clyde doesn’t actually responds when he replies to comments. He’s ‘responded’ to my comment addressing none of my points yesterday. Responding to specific points or questions when you visit a comment section is oppressive.
(summary of his response: feminists think white men are subhuman, because I know. zzzz)
@Maude
Yeah, I’ve noticed that many trolls do that. It’s annoying but very revealing.
@kittehs
::uncontrollable giggles::
It did? I am envy of your photoshop abilities…
@tugley logger
I am way too amused by the fact that this petition existed XD
@the boring fedora
Suuurrreeee he is. Yet none of the male posters here (who aren’t misogynistic trolls) nor any of the men I’ve met in meatspace have said this too me. It’s almost as if it’s soley a point boring misogynists with a bad projection complex have.
Feminist…toxin…
Yum! ::guggles feminist toxin::
Also I love* how the misogynists are like ‘no you’re secretly the ones who think so and so is secretly not human, ignoring, like, reality.
*by love I mean hate.
I think the morning has frazzled my brain. I’ll be posting now incase my computer eats this comment.
Dear white man person,
Hating sexist racist people for their sexism and racism != hating white men just for being white men.
love,
reality.
Feminist toxin. Is that like the cooties?
As in, 5-year-old Billy decided he shouldn’t play with girls — since they have cooties.
Quoting for truth, also in hopes if Clyde might one day get the point and stop just saying ‘like, but men are oppressed guyz’
Those sound kind of nasty. Though if the bacon ones succeeded, they’d probably make me hungry when they were burning.
I am poor feminist: I dislike scented candles; save for the vague hint of sweet from the honey in beeswax.
I like a very subtle vanilla-scented candle; anything strongly scented is just too overpowering. I bought some when my cat had a period of incontinence, and they were too strong. Half of them are unburned and will probably remain that way.
The really high-end expensive candles tend to be more subtle, I’ve noticed. I’m also super-cheap, so I probably will just get vanilla-flavored coffee and brew a lot of it to suffuse the house with the scent.
…
I’m never gonna level up to Mangina level 12 at this rate!!
It’s funny how these people are sure that women don’t know what it’s like to be a man, as if movies/ books/ shows are not constantly telling stories written by men, for men, about men, telling how men view the world. Women are tought to identify with men from childhood.
I’m so manly I light gasoline on a plate when I want a cozy atmosphere at home.
Oy, wrong thread, makes no sense.
@ dasfrogs
Incorrect. Women spend more money than men which means that print media has to be femocentric to get the advertising. Women also have more free time to consume media.
This is why men create the manosphere. To create an alternative to the dominant culture.
Mistertique!
@dsfrogs
Have you heard of the Bechdel test?
@black fedora
Citation needed!
Does that come in the form of a pill, or the far superior form of suppository?
Said with no sense of irony on the blog of a white, male feminist, populated by mostly white commenters, whose male commenters are almost all white. I want to send all MRAs a book on literary devices.
@Marie
Wack Fedora is actually right about women spending more money than men, but that’s because women do the majority of shopping for the household. So women spend more money /= women spend more money on themselves, despite the complete lack of comprehension of MRAs (and misogynists in general).
@Shadow,
I’ve heard that before, I just wanted a citation on his ‘femocentric’ media. Though I kinda was really unclear… ::blushes::
@shadow/marie
I have read very contradicting research on spending habits by gender, the information is all over the place as far as I know. It is usually only counting specific items (for example, women spend more in groceries, but obviously they don’t eat more than men). I’d be interested to find out more about it. It sounds weird to me, but it might be because I live in a ‘non-traditional’ world.
I do find that argument slightly weird, because I think if men did most of the shopping, MRAs would cite it as oppressive too.
@Marie
Lol, no worries. Also, while trying to find a citation, I ran across “this abstract”. I don’t have access to the study though, so I’m not sure how valid it is (also, I suck at economics, so access to the study probably won’t mean shit to me anyways :P)
@MaudeLL
Yeah, I just ran into some of that loll
RE: Black Fedora
Women spend more money than men which means that print media has to be femocentric to get the advertising.
Then why do women have relatively fewer speaking parts in film, by a wide margin?
Surely you don’t think women are selfless enough to want to watch men all day. Hell, I’m gay and I get sick of the sausage fest.
