![Reddit: Where dudes get agnry when their "hilarious" rape confessions only get 300 upvotes](https://i0.wp.com/www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/rageegg.png?resize=455%2C268&ssl=1)
Today, another lesson in how to get yourself hundreds of upvotes on Reddit.
It’s really quite simple.
1) Go to the Ask Reddit subreddit. Find the post asking Redditors if they’ve ever “tried a crazy urban-dictionary sex move? (e.g. Alaskan Pipeline, Komodo Dragon, Donkey Punch, etc.) How did it turn out?”
2) Post a story about a hilarious little prank you (allegedly) pulled on a sex partner that instantly transformed consensual sex into violent rape.
3) Oh, and throw in a gratuitous racial slur while you’re at it.
4) Then whine about how your partner’s negative response to your (alleged) little rape prank gave you “blue balls” and complain that you might have to pay her damages for “emotional distress” in civil court (allegedly).
You might think that this might be a bit much even for the morally undeveloped manchildren (and occasional womanchildren) who populate Reddit. But guess what? The poster of the tale in question got literally hundreds more upvotes than downvotes for his whiny “confession.”
Here’s the screenshot to prove it. (I’ve partically obscured the racial slur; click on image to see full-sized version.)
There were, of course, those who reacted like normal human beings to Mr. Dick Pic’s story. (I’ve obscured the homophobic slur that made up the entirely of his reply.)
Mr. Dick Pic was so offended that anyone was offended by his shitty (alleged) behavior that he rage-quit the thread, deleting his comment and — living up to his name — leaving only a dick pic in its place.
Now, Mr. Dick Pic may just be trolling, and I really hope that’s all there is to his terrible story, but his ridiculously pissy behavior after he got called out makes me think that his story, or at least parts of it, may actually be true.
Just another day on Reddit, the internet’s largest and most influential asshat aggregator.
Thanks to an anonymous Reddit informant for the heads-up, and the screenshots.
That was beautiful. 😀 I keep intending to buy their books, they’re wonderful.
Are you stuck at home until next year, Aaliyah? :/
@freemage
“And yeah, all three of them are actually quite well-written posts explaining how ‘misandry’ isn’t a thing. And that SRSMen draws a lot of whiny men. (Protip to PEMRA–it’s not the ‘men’ part that’s getting hated on, there).”
Is that so? Let’s quote the first of them:
So, to be clear, this is what you consider a “well-written post explaining why misandry isn’t real”?
This sounds like a perfect excuse to hang out with my family. XD
Thank you for the advice. I am probably going to try something like that, and take note of my pains afterward.
Hahahaha. It’s so true!
Fade, yeah, that was the kind of thing I was thinking of. One of my mom’s friends has one like those, but hers is kind of wedge-shaped, and she loves it.
Re videogames that pemra stupidly tries to point out as misandry:
I get not wanting to do violence against women in videogames, especially if you’re in some sort of public game where people can say misogynistic stuff. Still, I prefer to have all the bad guys minions equally gendered b/c it normalizes women in fighting positions.
Unless the women are sexualized and the violence is sexualized then it is sick.
But I will admit to laughing when she said make the mooks all straight white cis dudebros. I guess that makes me misandristic XD
In a public speaking class I had to take, one of the women decided to do a speech about why she wore a hijab and the only part of it I remember can be paraphrased as “Well, if you don’t wear one, you can never be sure if you got the job because you deserved it or because you look awesome.”
I’m… not exactly sure about those. I guess it’s b/c I’ve tried wheel chairs when out w/ family, and know that they take down my pain level, but I haven’t tried anything similar to that, so it would be uncharted water for me.
I gotta stop sitting on posts. So sorry to hear about your friends Cloudiah. 🙁
I am very grateful for the internet hugs, and offer them in return to anyone else facing bad crap.
Carrying on ignoring PEMRA until the happy day when David bans him. Let me have my dreams.
“But I will admit to laughing when she said make the mooks all straight white cis dudebros. I guess that makes me misandristic XD”
Well, of course. They’re not human, after all.
@Aaliyah
Excellent. Having so many options means you’ll probably find the best situation, instead of settling for whatever you can get.
If a more permanent housing situation is not available at first, I would suggest rotating your couches, if you can. Give them a night or two to themselves, so frustrations don’t build up too much. It sounds disruptive to the person on the couch, I know. But I think it evens out. I found myself feeling like an invader. But go somewhere else for a day or two, or even just make sure they could have a few hours to themselves at home, and we would all feel better.
I don’t think I phrased that right, but I think it’s understandable?
I don’t think it’s depicting violence against women in that context that’s problematic. Rather, what really contributes to a culture of violence against women is approval of the idea of using violence against women because they’re “misbehaving,” because they deserve to face vengeance, etc. None of this cultural context can be found in a shoot-em-up video game with women included among the targets.
At least until the end of this year, yes.
If SRSsucks is an intelligent watchdog group, that’s sure as hell a well-written post.
Pretty much my reaction. I *am* uncomfortable with violence toward women, and that is a reasonable fucking position considering the kind of violence usually perpetrated against women. But I would also like to see female soldiers in war games. Which is what we’re talking about, you hysterical nitwits. Ya’ll complain about anyone non-white or female in your shoot ’em up games, yet saying you like shooting white guys is misandrous? For god’s sake.
Also, I think it’s partially the *kind* of violence. William and I were watching some action movie where there’s a fight scene between two magically powerful characters, one male and one female. I am more than OK with that – and fine with the man winning. Watching him backhand her made me super uncomfortable though because it’s so reminiscent of domestic violence.
Absuive women certainly can slap their male partners but it’s not the imagery we are exposed to at every turn, so it is not the same. Context, people.
Ahh, but I really don’t like that argument. As if women wearing hijab can’t do themselves up to look beautiful anyway! And while the point is valid (I explicitly DID get a job because I was “good looking enough” when I was younger, I heard through the grapevine. Gross), it carries with it some definite implicit shaming of women not being modest enough IMO.
“Pretty much my reaction. I *am* uncomfortable with violence toward women, and that is a reasonable fucking position considering the kind of violence usually perpetrated against women.”
Well, this really isn’t the most objectionable element in the post, as you well know.
The “SRS” hate group provides this kind of evidence every day, and it’s highlighted by SRSsucks. If you want to deny it, that’s your issue.
Going to bed now. Ni’night.
I’m an ex-Muslim, and find what she said to be extremely problematic. She’s basically backing up – and I know this, because I’ve heard the same thing said countless times in other contexts – the notion that women should wear hijabs so that they aren’t objectified. Which is in line with the Islamic reason for the hijab: to avoid sexual harassment and sexual assault. If that’s not victim-blaming, I don’t know what is.
I sneer at anyone who says “The hijab is a choice” while ignoring the fact that countless women are either forced to wear it by their peers and family or pressured to wear it because they are afraid of being sexually assaulted or harassed.
If you want to wear a hijab, go ahead. Just don’t pretend that Islam’s reason for making the hijab obligatory is benign. It’s not, and it never will be.
BAH. I wish you lived in my city, you could come live in our ramshackle house. 🙁
I’m also planning on not responding directly to whiny mcwhinerson any more because the intellectual dishonesty is just fucking annoying. There is no way he doesn’t know he’s talking a load of bollocks, and I can’t be bothered wasting my ATP on non-arguments.
Man, A Softer World is on point with these! Do they secretly hang out on Manboobz?

@seventhguest
night! And thank you for your advice!
Couch-surfing? Honestly, I’ve only considered that as a last-resort choice in case I have to run away. Because I can’t rule out the possibility of an intolerant family member finding out about my transness and lack of religious faith before I even get the chance to move out. If that happens, I might face violence, threats of violence, or get kicked out of the house.
I’m open to the idea of couch-surfing, though, especially with people I like and trust.
RE: cloudiah
Mega-bummer. 🙁 I’m sorry to hear that.
We’ve had sorta a rough past week too; for a while, we thought we might lose a system member. That has proved false, thank god, but then I got an ED resurgence. (Triggered by HAPPINESS? SERIOUSLY? Come ON, brain!)
Things are okay, just a little bleh.
Also, poor PEMRA. He just wants attention. He makes me think of one of those small dogs that jump up and down yapping, “Look at me! Look at me!”
RE: Aaliyah
I’ve been pretty much doing couch-surfing++ the past… seven months. (Living in a closet, rather than sleeping on a couch.) It sucks, but…. well, at least in this closet, I’m not at all afraid of anyone hurting me. Shitty situation to be in; sorry you’re going through it.
Claudiah: Jedi hugs and kittens for you.
My Mom died of cancer one year ago this last Sunday. Fuck cancer.
