Today, another lesson in how to get yourself hundreds of upvotes on Reddit.
It’s really quite simple.
1) Go to the Ask Reddit subreddit. Find the post asking Redditors if they’ve ever “tried a crazy urban-dictionary sex move? (e.g. Alaskan Pipeline, Komodo Dragon, Donkey Punch, etc.) How did it turn out?”
2) Post a story about a hilarious little prank you (allegedly) pulled on a sex partner that instantly transformed consensual sex into violent rape.
3) Oh, and throw in a gratuitous racial slur while you’re at it.
4) Then whine about how your partner’s negative response to your (alleged) little rape prank gave you “blue balls” and complain that you might have to pay her damages for “emotional distress” in civil court (allegedly).
You might think that this might be a bit much even for the morally undeveloped manchildren (and occasional womanchildren) who populate Reddit. But guess what? The poster of the tale in question got literally hundreds more upvotes than downvotes for his whiny “confession.”
Here’s the screenshot to prove it. (I’ve partically obscured the racial slur; click on image to see full-sized version.)
There were, of course, those who reacted like normal human beings to Mr. Dick Pic’s story. (I’ve obscured the homophobic slur that made up the entirely of his reply.)
Mr. Dick Pic was so offended that anyone was offended by his shitty (alleged) behavior that he rage-quit the thread, deleting his comment and — living up to his name — leaving only a dick pic in its place.
Now, Mr. Dick Pic may just be trolling, and I really hope that’s all there is to his terrible story, but his ridiculously pissy behavior after he got called out makes me think that his story, or at least parts of it, may actually be true.
Just another day on Reddit, the internet’s largest and most influential asshat aggregator.
Thanks to an anonymous Reddit informant for the heads-up, and the screenshots.
I think he should avoid being banned for… fifty minutes, because that’s how much free time I have until my sister gets home, and I’m too achey to be using it doing anything constructive.
@Gilligan: It’s the same with some Cracked articles about sex; they totally reveal that the authors, well, they may have had sex, but they’re just not experienced enough to write the articles they do write sometimes. Like, they make assertions that are blatantly false; stuff they’ve probably read somewhere but would have realized with actual experience were false. (“You can’t do X without risking serious injury” when X is something loads of people do all the time no problem, for instance.)
This is not to say that there’s anything wrong with having little sex or even living your entire life in celibacy, just that it’s sometimes a good idea to abstain from writing an article on a subject with which you have little or no experience.
I’ve said previously, the “SRS” hate group is, by definition and without dispute, technically a hate group. They explicitly encourage hostility and hatred against groups based on inherent traits; this is a definition of a hate group. They can justify their hate group however they want- as “for the greater good”, perhaps- but it’s still a hate group. That’s established.
Dude… nobody is oppressing straight white males, troll harder.
“Without dispute”
I’m disputing it.
Everybody’s disputing it.
“Without dispute” doesn’t mean what you think it does.
Dude… nobody is oppressing straight white males, troll harder.
I’m not trolling, I’m stating the facts. White men, due largely to the efforts of feminist hate groups, are the horrible oppressors of society, the hated.
And the “SRS” chocolate lovers group is, by definition and without dispute, technically a chocolate lovers group.
Want a surprise? The “SRS” monitoring group is, by definition and without dispute, technically a monitoring group.
None of which is to say that any of those groups actually exist.
“I’m disputing it.”
Then you’re disputing that the sky is blue. You can, sure, but you’re factually wrong. Again- you can try to justify the “SRS” hate group’s existence, but by definition it is a hate group, because they encourage hostility against certain groups of people, and this makes up a core part of their ideology. It’s not arguable.
Aw, man stop making me laugh. My ribs already hurt today, you don’t need to make it worse.
White men are framed as oppressors because they benefit from white privilege and male privilege whether they want to or not, and they can use that to either try and oppress people or make a positive change.
Or in your case, whine a lot on the internet.
…nobody uses that as a definition of a hate group. There’s a couple other little pieces you’re intentionally obfuscating, you abstruse nit.
You keep using that term, “hate group”. I do not think it means what you think it means.
“…nobody uses that as a definition of a hate group.”
Actually, it’s the generally accepted definition, in somewhat different words, basically everywhere. Google is your friend.
“SRS” is, factually, a hate group, by any definition.
None of that matters! You said it was without dispute–that means people agree! You’re lying!
That’s not like saying what you just said, which is still wrong.
This is also completely wrong.
okay, the dictionary does not tell you everything. If you look up carrots on the dictionary, you do not know everything about carrots. Looking up the very basic definition of “hate group” does not an argument make.
First of all, the man was defending himself when he was accused of rape. He called someone a “f*ggot” when that person called him a rapist. Second, even if he were joking, rape jokes are not acceptable in any way, shape, or form.
This doesn’t sound like a joke to me, though. It’s easy for me to imagine a rapist asshole bragging about his rape. Especially when he’s basically saying “I’m not a rapist but after I told her I had AIDS and she struggled I penetrated her anyway.”
Yo, so SRS says white dudes are racist, so they’re a hate group.
AVFM has calls for terrorism on its activist page.
HUMAN RIGHTS GROUP.
You heard PEMRA. This is without dispute, not arguable.
Wait, so feminists (the “hate group” ones, natch) made white men oppress other people in our society? Come again?
Granted, I haven’t done much research on the topic, but I don’t think douchiness is an inherent trait.
Ah, now that I CAN dispute. If you tell me that the “SRS” hate group is a hate group, I’ll accept that. It probably doesn’t exist, but it’s clearly a hate group.
However, that doesn’t speak for SRS being a hate group. I can find at least one definition of hate group it doesn’t meet.
SRS promotes awareness of the awful things some people on Reddit say. I’ll be willing to go so far as to allow that, being aware of the awful things some people on Reddit say will cause animosity towards those people. However, these people are not targeted for their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin. These people brought to attention because they say awful things.
Uggh, I feel sick…I need to get outside and see all the sensible men out there to restore my faith.
By the way, that egg pic is hilarious.
Even if that’s the definition of a hate group, I’m pretty certain that “writing racist/sexist things on Reddit” isn’t an inherent trait. It’s an action. Hating someone for their inherent traits is different from hating someone for their actions.
It’s all the purple dildos, isn’t it? :*(
What “inherent traits” are they targeting? Unless you consider racism and misogyny to be inherent traits…
And don’t say they’re targeting men, because they clearly are not targeting all men.
Oh, Jesus, not the “SRS is a hate group” bullshit again.
