Impressive! Here’s the link. Maybe they’ll eventually fill this blank page with inspiring tales of harassing women, including women they’ve mistakenly targeted because MRAs, on the exceedingly rare occaisions they try to be activists, are the most inept and gullible activists the world has ever seen.
And while we’re at it, here’s the Wiki’s ethics page.
Wow! Instead of nothing, this time they have a list of nothings.
Thanks to Reddit’s veduualdha and StephenMurphy for pointing out these links in r/againstmensrights.
LOL. No organization, no investment, no real unity of purpose… It’s oddly reassuring.
Wow, that wiki’s just one big spam farm at this point, isn’t it? Almost everything linked on the main page is empty or occupied by a handful of quotes. Whoever started that thing lost interest fast. It’s almost as though MRAs don’t have the gumption to do anything productive.
“Itβs almost as though MRAs donβt have the gumption to do anything productive.”
Say it ain’t so LOL!
Activism is haaaaaaard. So are Wikis, apparently.
Oooooh, chivalry!! I want Elam and John the Other to joust for my favour!! joust, damn you!!!
So here are some fun stats about the Mens [sic] Rights Wiki: It was started in August by a dude going by “ThothMRA” who – shockingly enough – seems to be from Reddit. He held on for a whole three months before what passed for “activity” stopped in November. Hard to blame him – the site never had more than about six legit editors. There was one poor bastard who showed up a few days ago, but his contributions have completely vanished under a few hundred spam posts.
You may wish to browse the list of most popular pages, if only to marvel at how many are blank.
I find the MRM crowd often whines about things that feminist groups are actually doing things to change. Of course they don’t want you to point that out to them. Instead they want to tell you how women are oppressing them by supporting these things.
I wouldn’t be so hard on the wiki authors here. It’s hard to write an article on something that doesn’t exist.
Wow. I wonder what the “Invisible Men” category is all about. Oh wait, I know…”*sniff* women won’t just give me teh sex.” Heavy.
I see. So much potential… but so little information…. reminds me of the MRA posters. Cupcake anyone?
I know that it wouldn’t be nice, but I’m kind of hoping that somebody makes an account and edits all of the pages with super-exaggerated MRA-type-things, just to see whether or not anybody catches on. It would be really funny.
@Mary
Seconded. I am not nice π Though, one kinda wonders if they would ever catch on…
Here’s some truly ridiculous MRA legal action from the UK. Peter Lloyd may be the next Tom Martin.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2311098/Peter-Lloyd-Why-Im-suing-gym-sexist-women-hours.html
Tell you what – when I see women dominating the weights room, setting up on multiple machines and not leaving any room for men; or when I see newbie women condescending to men who clearly have more experience at weight lifting and exercise (including ones who are gym employees or personal trainers) – Then I might think this asshat has a point.
Women use 100% of the gym for 442 hours a year. Men use 75% of it for all the other hours of the year.
“‘I’m suing the gym for gender bias. Not simply because their policy is unfair, but because it pathologises masculinity while simultaneously repressing it.'”
Hahahahaha fucking moron. He can’t even accept the idea that women want a bit of privacy from being stared at or hit on by men while they’re exercising. Piss off, sonny. It’s not your masculinity that’s pathological, it’s your view of yourself as a victim or being hard-done-by just because women get to have a bit of private space on occasion. Boo hoo!
WeeBoy, thanks for the link, I needed a giggle π This would be why Guardian readers call The Daily Mail, The Daily Fail.
Unfortunately I’m not surprised, considering it’s the same paper that brought us the ‘story’ justifying the racially motivated killing of a squirrel!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1296366/Why-I-hate-squirrels.html
I say, fine, give him his men’s only hours. If nobody bothers to use them there’s your proof that they weren’t necessary. If people do use them then cool, the gym will want to keep offering them.
I’m surprised no enterprising (ha) MRA hasn’t tried to sue Curves (U.S. based chain of women’s gyms).
hellkell: They have.

That’s what I get for being too lazy to Google. I don’t understand these dudes–most gyms are far more male-oriented. Just like most other spaces.
I thought David Mitchell (sorry, obsessed with him tonight) said it really well.

Hope nobody minds all my links, It’s 5am here, and even the cats don’t want to talk…so lonely…sniff…sniff…
People in the comments are bitching about “Ladies Nights” as well. Because having a “gentlemans night” would tooootally encourage the average MRA to go.
@opheliamonarch
Thanks, that gave me a chuckle! (like you on my own tonight)
What’s the bet that if gyms did offer men’s only times, MRAs would avoid it because of fear of THE GAYZ?
LMFAO. Doad’s wiki about that random D&D campaign he ran that one time is bigger than that.
ββIβm suing the gym for gender bias. Not simply because their policy is unfair, but because it pathologises masculinity while simultaneously repressing it.ββ
Yet another MRA who overlooks hir own misandry. Who said that masculinity necessarily involves staring down women, harassing them, and hitting on them?
