You need to be cautious with statistics. Unless you understand the inputs, you cannot make sense of the results (and people that use stats to lie know this.)
For example, I know of a man arrested for molesting the four-year old daughter of the woman he was dating. He had also been arrested for the same criminal offense with a different victim at an earlier time.
He was not prosecuted for either crime because the Los Angeles county DAs did not believe a conviction was possible with four-year old witnesses.
So here were two violent sexual assaults, but how would they be classified for the purpose of gathering statistics?
No crime?
False Allegation?
Unsubstantiated Allegation?
Unprovable Allegation?
god knows what else…
I don’t know how these crimes would be classified. I do know it would depend on the design of the data inputs as well as the opinions of each individual filling in the checkboxes and that will most definitely affect the results.
Also, too, false equivalency: the suggestion that women “have a place” has no more merit than black or Irish people “have a place” and that is what the MRAs insist on. I live in a free society and no one gets to dictate that some of us should be less free.
