If you aren’t too worn out by all the Presidents’ Day revelry — and the ritual Donning of the Fake Lincoln Beards — I would like to welcome you to the first edition of the 2013 Man Boobz Pledge Drive! (There will be 3 in all.)
I’ll try to keep this brief and repeat what I said last time: If you enjoy this blog, and can afford it, please click on the “donate” button below and sending a few bucks my way. Or, if you’d prefer, a massive quantity of bucks. You don’t need a PayPal account to donate; you can use a credit card, and I think there are other options as well.
There’s a bit more urgency to my request this time: I’m really and truly broke at the moment. Things should get better later in the year, but right now I could use all the help I can get.
I appreciate any and all contributions. And I’d also like to do a quick shout-out to the those who send me much needed $ between pledge drives, whether these are one-shot deals or regular infusions.
That said, if you’re also broke and can’t swing a contribution now, I completely understand. There are lots of ways to contribute to this blog besides cold hard cash, and lots of you contribute enormously every day with smart and funny comments and cartoons and silly parody MRA posters and so on and so on. Which is awesome. It’s the community here that keeps me going.
So thanks!
Oh, and if you need more persuading, here’s Tom Baker (no, really) begging for bucks during a PBS pledge drive.
Oops, wrong thread…but still more important then boring troll.
Oooh, that sounds good, Princess Bonbon. Just about anything goes well baked with soup.
princessbonbon, I have never tried that soup, but I am a big fan of chicken, broccoli and cheese so I bet it will turn out just fine.
I will have to take a picture-is it better to put the cheddar cheese on after the baking or before?
I mostly lurk here, but delurking to say:
I can’t donate now, but I think I’ll be able to in a month or two, I don’t know if that’s too long 🙁 I enjoy reading this blog and the comments, so I’d like to help when I can.
Before, if you want it melty and browned.
@princessbonbon
Are you a fan of baked (maybe almost burnt depending) cheese? I am, so I would put it on before and make sure it cooked uncovered long enough to get hard. If you aren’t though, after might be better.
You could also compromise by putting cheese in before and then melting some more on top right at the end.
The cheese will only take a few minutes to brown and the dish probably cooks 1/2 hour or more, I’m guessing. Put the cheese on first, cover with foil, and then uncover for the last 10 minutes or so to brown.
This is the cutest thing I’ve seen today. Except maybe for that squeaky frog. Hm…
Oh, I think I can top that.
:: am ded of cute ::
Wow, it’s funny how I missed sonichu gallivanting around and yet also missed literally nothing.
Except a baby* tearing up a straw man, of course.
*A very big†, angry baby.**
**I am ageist.
†I am bigoted against giant babies.π
πExcept actual giant babies who just happen to be like that.ª
ªWhat I’m trying to say is that sonichu is not very mature.^
^I like endnotes.
I think I will cheese it after…I never have much luck with properly melted cheddar.
@Tulgey – giant babies, you say?

LOL that was sure me in years past! I had to stop letting Katie sleep there because I was getting really bad Cat Back every night.
Hi Kitteh! I misworded – not a generator, so much as a handy print-out (I keep mine above my phone here at work):

Sorry if I screw up the formatting… I’ll learn, I promise!
Oooo! In other news: I made those dirt pudding things.
The kids at my work are going to love them: choclate pudding, crushed oreos and gummy worms!
I’m eating one now!
Too many exclamation marks!
Dirt pudding has to be the best dessert for kids ever. I remember loving it so much.
Last year I said I would donate if and when I got a job, and I never did. Now I am in a much better place than I was last year in pretty much every way, mostly because I got lucky enough to find a wonderful, fulfilling job. So I donated for two years.
I’m extremely grateful both to David and to the community for all of the laughs and support. I’m not sure I would have been able to get to where I am now without all of you guys. In fact, I think that you all are [insert mush mush mushy mush grossness here].
Hi, another long time lurker here.
Been following this blog for a while so I figured I should show the donate button some love. I hope everything works out for you. This blog is really entertaining I would hate to see it go.
Spleeny – thank you! I have bookmarked that page. Love the thought of throwing a few Shakespearian insults at MRAs. 😀
Yay Viscaria — congrats on the job and the other good stuff!
Hey thanks =D March will be 5 months of gainful employment. Seems only right to give back. Of course, now that I’m healthier and have somewhere to be every day I don’t spend nearly as much time here as I used to XD but I think that’s a good thing!
