Men’s Rights Redditors outraged again by imaginary injustice, alleged-stripping-at-school-assembly edition

Trapped in an imaginary matriarchy!
Trapped in an imaginary matriarchy!

MRAs spend an awful lot of time getting worked up by hypothetical injustices. On the Men’s Rights subreddit, angry Men’s Rightsers regularly post links to stories of women behaving badly – or who may have been charged with or convicted of a crime – with indignant headlines suggesting that the women in question would be treated far worse if “she had been a man.”

The latest example of this outrage over imagined injustices? This post, found in r/mensrights today, with 87 net upvotes:

MRstripperhypothetical

If you follow the link, it goes to a brief story about the alleged incident in The Huffington Post. I say “alleged” because the woman in question has not yet been convicted of anything. As the story reports, the police arrested her because

school staff told them the assembly was halted and the cafeteria cleared after Meaders began dancing onstage and took off some of her clothes.

She’s charged with seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of public lewdness.

An Albany City Court clerk says Meaders was arraigned Friday afternoon and ordered held on $3,000 bail. She doesn’t have a lawyer yet.

There is no mention of putting her on a sex offenders registry because, and let me be blunt here, YOU HAVE TO BE CONVICTED OF A CRIME TO GET PUT ON ONE. She’s merely been CHARGED.

There is no “pussy pass” for women that enables them to bypass the sex offenders registry ONCE THEY ARE CONVICTED of public lewdness. The relevant NY State law can be found here; as you can see, the gender of the convicted offender is not an issue. (It took all of 30 seconds on Google to dig that up.) Meaders isn’t getting special treatment because she’s a woman; she’s not on the offenders registry because an arrest is not the same as a conviction.

Enjoy your imagined oppression, fellas.

“You know, only Americans use ‘thug’ to mean ‘man of colour’”

Most of the thugs in France are north African who are not “of color”.
And when I used the word “thug”… I meant “thug”.
If I would have wanted to describe blacks or arabs, I would have used these terms. I don’t use codewords.

BrZZZZT!: As I said, you don’t care, because it’s not women who aren’t being punished.

For all that you say you want “crimes punished equitably” your complaint isn’t that the guys are getting off, but that some feminists said things you don’t like.

Misogyny, you’re soaking in it.

If I would have wanted to describe blacks or arabs, I would have used these terms. I don’t use codewords.

Unless it’s for vulvae, then you are all about, “the lies which speak the truth”.

“For all that you say you want “crimes punished equitably” your complaint isn’t that the guys are getting off, but that some feminists said things you don’t like.”

Nah, my complain is that there a need for a minimum of state of law in these neighborhoods that would prevent those kind of things to happen (a case, when the victim had the incredible courage to go to the police, judged many years after the events and a ridiculous sentencing in order to avoid riots) and that these feminists who awkwardly blamed the “machismo” of the society and the left globally are a huge part of the problem.
If they don’t mind about shutting the fuck up a little bit, so the people who actually KNOWS how things work in these neighborhoods can try to find a way to deal with the problem before it’s too late.

“Unless it’s for vulvae, then you are all about, “the lies which speak the truth”.”

I know you guys are so clueless about sexuality that you’re not even able to notice when it ends and when its stops.

LOL LOL socky’s playing his “I am French and only the French know about sex!” card again. Didn’t work the first time, won’t work this time, sonny.

And the “oooh I totally know how things work in THOSE neighbourhoods,” what a tough fellow he is.

I like the “of course thug means black!” answer to thenat. (Hint: thenat is right, the word is only code for black in US racist speech. When I talk about someone being a thug, it’s usually in reference to a white criminal.) Sounds to me like someone’s a USian who can’t drop that particular code from his nasty racist little brain.

I love how he slips in and out of his vive la France persona within the space of a single sentence.

By love I mean that the failure to maintain a consistent persona is the only entertaining thing about him.

“I know you guys are so clueless about sexuality that you’re not even able to notice when it ends and when its stops.” Can someone please tell me wtf this comment even means? I can’t tell if it’s just not structured well or if it is completely jumbled word salad.

Hey now, he knows all about sexuality. He’s heard that it’s something that might happen one day when the princesses stop spitting at him. Perhaps the new plan is to offer them some nice Brie as a bribe?

I like the “of course thug means black!”

I did the reverse actually, but you haven’t noticed because you’ve lost your brain blogging in gang for too long time probably.

Actually, “thugs” (when I use this term, I have a mind the French word “racaille”, “kaillera”), in France is not racially clear : people think blacks and arabs and the rest. Cause in your basic banlieu’s group of thug is generally racially random : some blacks, some arabs and maybe two or three white. That’s at least one good thing in our country : there’s no racial segregation. We begin to witness tentatives of religious segregation from some muslims but that doesn’t work so well, communautarism isn’t something natural in our country.

BTW is anyone else getting this in their heads every time he attempts to perform his idea of what a French guy would be like?

I will now! That should make reading his posts almost tolerable.

I also use ‘thug*’ to describe white dudes, usually racists. Which is weird because even though in America it’s used to describe Scary Black Men, the word was first used to describe a sect of Indian men.

My my, he’s trying so hard to maintain his French persona in that last one, isn’t he? Just like Cassandra said, the English gets worse every time he’s called on it.

I wonder if he’s typing this sitting in the student laundry, watching those bras whirl round and round … dedicated troll, pathetic failure of a human being.

Oh I’ve got all excited talking about the “banlieues”, that’s always get me excited and ranting about those fucking French leftists. Why we didn’t keep speaking about feminism and stuff? I don’t care of feminism and mras. I’ve found a good stand where I was the good guy and you the ugly horde of witch-hunters and I spoiled it just to get excited about the “banlieues” thing. What a pity…

“pathetic failure of a human being.”

Well, at least I don’t feel the need to call anyone a “pathetic failure of a human being”, so I think I’m not that bad finally.

NNY, ill believe the feminist utopia stor when the women come on here telling us how wonderful it really is. What your boss is doing with that strange at home/at work scenario? HORRIBLY COMMON. Lots of men have very decided ideas about what they want in their partners, and those ideas support patriarchy.

I’m laying good money that his feminist utopia is based on hiring women he’s not sexually attracted to AND fear of repercussions from the labour board.

Since the beginning, I’m wondering if I should take your comments on my English as a compliment or not, because I really try hard to express myself in English without mistakes, which apparently I don’t manage to do.

Nat, I’m missing a key ingredient, which I will remedy tomorrow.

Dr Who can be found on Blackberry app world. Its called Round Three Dr who edition. OS 7 required.

The only problem with the app is that anything in folders does not have a visible icon. Hey can still be accessed and things like pics or tunes have a hot key. So no problem to me.

Are there any Cumberbatch themes?

If its not Brandon, someone here send me some strong booze. Its fucking depressing thinking that so many guys think like that.

Also, remind me NOT to read the comments on blogs introducing the topic of asexuality to the general public.

Gender neutral term — “rape pass”
If a woman gets one — “pussy pass”
If a man gets one — “dick pass” — no wait, that’s not thing, it’s a “rape pass” in this case

The misogyny is strong in this one!

Also, can someone explain wtf socialism has to do with anything? Just goalpost shifting?

pillow, it’s the other thread with the Brandonesque one on it. This one stinks of the Boston baby who gets spat on by evil women and had a habit of smashing his keyboard when he thought it would impress anyone.
