Men’s Rights Redditors outraged again by imaginary injustice, alleged-stripping-at-school-assembly edition

Trapped in an imaginary matriarchy!
Trapped in an imaginary matriarchy!

MRAs spend an awful lot of time getting worked up by hypothetical injustices. On the Men’s Rights subreddit, angry Men’s Rightsers regularly post links to stories of women behaving badly – or who may have been charged with or convicted of a crime – with indignant headlines suggesting that the women in question would be treated far worse if “she had been a man.”

The latest example of this outrage over imagined injustices? This post, found in r/mensrights today, with 87 net upvotes:

MRstripperhypothetical

If you follow the link, it goes to a brief story about the alleged incident in The Huffington Post. I say “alleged” because the woman in question has not yet been convicted of anything. As the story reports, the police arrested her because

school staff told them the assembly was halted and the cafeteria cleared after Meaders began dancing onstage and took off some of her clothes.

She’s charged with seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of public lewdness.

An Albany City Court clerk says Meaders was arraigned Friday afternoon and ordered held on $3,000 bail. She doesn’t have a lawyer yet.

There is no mention of putting her on a sex offenders registry because, and let me be blunt here, YOU HAVE TO BE CONVICTED OF A CRIME TO GET PUT ON ONE. She’s merely been CHARGED.

There is no “pussy pass” for women that enables them to bypass the sex offenders registry ONCE THEY ARE CONVICTED of public lewdness. The relevant NY State law can be found here; as you can see, the gender of the convicted offender is not an issue. (It took all of 30 seconds on Google to dig that up.) Meaders isn’t getting special treatment because she’s a woman; she’s not on the offenders registry because an arrest is not the same as a conviction.

Enjoy your imagined oppression, fellas.

Trigger warning: rape, misogyny

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1547693/Rapist-spared-jail-as-judge-agrees-girl-10-looked-older.html

How about a man getting a prick-pass because a 10 year old girl “looked older”? And that was 30 seconds on google.

Noone should get a pass for raping a child, whatever their gender but I think you’ll find far more men getting one, regardless. But then the law is an ass! And most judges are male.

Well, well, well. What happened to the fellow who wanted to talk about Persian literature and was almost apologetic for arguing with people? Suddenly he’s gone and it’s good ol’ MRA bullshit, man who hates women and suddenly has enough colloquial English to trot out terms like “pussy pass”.

There’s a stench of sock about this faux-Frenchman.

He’s about as convincing as a Frenchman as Dick Van Dyke was as a Cockney in Mary Poppins.

The judge saying “she got what she wanted” is quite disturbing indeed. This sentence is quite scandalous.
You changed my mind, maybe this woman didn’t got a “pussy pass”.

“What happened to the fellow who wanted to talk about Persian literature”
Not Persian literature, Arabic literature. I abandoned this idea seeing the lack of interest of people for this matter, now I’m vexed and I will never unveil this part of my intimacy again.

Nobody wants any parts of your intimacy unveiled, sonny.

How’s life in Boston these days? Still being spat on, are we?

“unveil this part of my intimacy” sounds like a line from 50 shades of Grey.

Horrible, there’s snow everywhere, it’s cold, extremely cold. My body is not French, I can feel each time this wind bits my face that that’s the part of my ancestors who lived traveling in the desert on dromedaries who influenced the way I react to cold.
There’s nothing to do apart from staying at home and go to the gym, this place is a boring gigantic suburb, Cambridge is a university theme park, a decorum, Bostonian are weird, unnatural. Every time I take the bus, there’s a guy who sings alone in a crazy way. There’s a lot of crazy people, it’s just like this place makes people crazy. The weirdest thing is the “small talk” of clerks, this way to talk to you without talking to you with this fake attitude… Just so many things are fake here.
That’s the first time in my life that I live in a foreign country where I am so totally, so completely, so irreversibly alien.

We don’t care if you’re vexed, and stop trying to force your intimacies on people. I bet that’s a running theme in your sad life. No means no, dickweed.

Does the fact that he attempted to unveil his intimacy to us (ie. an unwilling audience) mean that we can have him arrested for flashing?

Now, if that’s not a clear “pussy pass” we’ve got here

Seriously, you want to start comparing stories of justice gone wrong in rape trials? I could go all day. How about the fact that New York has to change their rape laws to include forcible sodomy and oral because of the MIchael Pena trial, which ended in a hung jury because two jurors couldn’t believe that the victim really remembered how she’d been penetrated because she couldn’t remember the color of the car parked across the street? This extremely straightforward rape case, just about the “realest” of “real rape” imaginable — stranger drags a woman off the street in broad daylight and rapes her at gunpoint, with a witness who viewed the assault from his window — ended in a hung jury. The second jury thankfully convicted the bastard.

Let’s not stop there, let’s look at California, where a man who crawled into bed with a sleeping woman and pretended to be her boyfriend in order to sexually assault her had his conviction overturned because according to California state law, it’s only “rape by fraud” if the woman is married — single woman are free game, apparently.

That’s two states who have had to review their antiquated rape laws just in the past year. And let’s not forget that raping your wife was legal in the majority of US states until the 1980’s. Definitely, it’s only women who are “getting away” with raping people.

Sounds like a personal problem. A bit fantastic too. I’ve been in several, quite foriegn countries. That level of alienation… you should seek counseling.

You could also see about the problem you have with women while you were there.

Brz: The words of the judges are quoted in this article, I made comments out of them.

Yes you did, stripped of context, and in a post which was anaother example of your strangely affected grammatical errors.

Among the context you stripped (when quote mining what is at least a third party account) was that she had drunk “enough alcohol to knock out a bull elephant”

The more complete quotation is “The evidence established very clearly that on that night you got paralytically drunk and that your behaviour with some children passed beyond the flirtatious to the point where you touched them indecently.

“You fought the case and you should frankly be ashamed of yourself for refusing to accept that your memory of the matter was such that you really couldn’t dispute what the boys consistently said.

“The jury’s verdict was founded on good, solid, appropriate evidence.

“I am satisfied that this behaviour arose not out of paedophilia, although these were paedophile acts, but out of drunkenness and foolishness, and a real element of childishness in you. You were grossly disinhibited by the amount of alcohol you had taken.”

So we can trust that the next time someone offers up that he was drinking too much, and it that should mitigate his rapist behavior, you will roundly condemn his getting a “drinking pass”.

Because that’s what this is.

But you won’t. Because that would require honesty in your aims. You don’t have it in you, or you’d not have done the very careful (and skilled with English) selection to make it seem this was the act of a serial predator, what with the emphasis on, “also indecently touched two other boys”, and “performed a sex act,” since none of the reports I’ve seen have detailed what the “sex act” was, but the implication is that she forced one of them to masturbate her. The only act she was alleged to have performed on the boy is to have “bared his genitals and fondled him”. Which, while it is assault, isn’t rape.

You also decided to leave out that since she was convicted she is now on the register of sex offenders.

Quite the “free ride”

Yeah, let’s see if a judge give a slap on the wrist to a drunk man who forced a 13-years-old to masturbate him, it will be an official “drinking pass”, now it’s just a “pussy pass” and I really doubt that a judge who will say in front of a drunk man who forced a young girl to caresses his dick “if you don’t do it again that’s OK”.

And yeah, even if she’s on the register of sex offenders, that’s a “free ride”, you know that theses things means years of prison normally.
