Here he is doing some wonderful PR work for his fellow PUAs, defending them (and himself) against accusations that they treat women like “disposable blow-up dolls.” Not so, says Firepower:

His grievances over his termination may well be legitimate, but his actions in getting his voice heard are so not. I keep seeing him hailed as a hero in various corners of the internet and it’s making me want to puke. It reminds me of the MRM cheering on people like George Sodini and the various assholes who murder their entire families when their wives try to leave them.
blitzgal: Agreed completely. The LAPD has a shitload of problems from a civil rights perspective, but violence against them is not going to end well for anyone.

I read his manifesto… I can’t call it. His actions appear to be indefensible but… I… I can’t say “sympathize” because that’s not what I mean. And I can’t say “understand” either.
The LAPD has a well-deserved reputation of racism, civil rights abuses, and corruption. I don’t want this man to kill anyone else. I do want there to be some sort of investigation into his accusations. I doubt that what I want will matter in either case. It’s clear from the killing of two unarmed, innocent women that they have no intention of bringing him alive. And what ever cliff he’s stepped off – unless he’s stopped, he’s likely to kill again.
And this will all just be another “LAPD” thing and eventually forgotten.

How about: I think he was mostly right up until he decided to kill people. Then, he became very, very wrong.

For instance, in my hometown a police officer killed an unarmed drunk man after he mistakenly walked into the wrong house (his neighbor’s house). The neighbor was helping him home, but he was a bit belligerant (the neighbor has confirmed that at no time was in in fear of the man, who weighed a whopping 140 pounds). The neighbor’s wife had already called the police before they recognized the guy. So cop pulls up, sees a “tussle,” orders the two on the ground, and shoots the drunk guy three times in the chest when he advances on him. There are all kinds of hinky issues with this story, including the cop’s violent history, the fact that the neighbor was yelling at the cop that he knew the guy, etc. Did Paul Heenan’s family respond to the officer’s official “clearing” by the police department by murdering the cop’s kid? No, they kept public pressure on the department until the Department of Justice stepped in to do an independent review.
That’s how you get your voice heard when you have been wronged. You do not add to the violence by committing more yourself. The cycle never ends.
These PUA sadsacks have truly have turned projection into an artform. Everytime I read a sanctimonious rant like the one in the OP I think, “Wow, this guy really despises himself,” and I *almost* – I mean almost – pity him. The world is a reflection of yourself, as they say, and it must suck being the very thing that you vehemently hate. Really, if I had it my way, “entitled slut” would replace the term PUA if only so that the blatant hypocrisy is better recognized.
When it gets below -18 or so I put up my hood, which covers my mouth and chin, and then wrap a scarf around the outside over my nose/the upper half of my face until my only exposed skin is a little eye-slit. Works pretty well. Of course, it directs all of my breath upwards and then my eyelashes freeze…
Dorner seems to have a legitimate grievance if he did in fact witness police brutality, reported it and followed it up through all the correct venues, and then lost his job while Evans did not. (Yes, he could have made it up, and his apparent issues with women cops make that more likely, but brutality by the LAPD is about as common as potholes on the 110.) I can understand why he would feel like he had to take matters into his own hands, since the legal system will protect the cops at every turn.
But that. doesn’t. make. it. okay. to. shoot. people.
Sorry if my initial comment came off as supporting him. I vemenamtly do not support shooting people (or violent means in general) as a way to make any point — pulling that shit to clear your name as the non-corrupt cop who isn’t committing brutality, well, that dictionary he pulled the definition of “name” from surely has an entry on “irony”.
What I do find interesting is the sheer depth and bredth of his claims. His manifesto seems to lay out a whole hierarchy of corrupt violent cops, which makes his violence bad on yet another level — his legitimate points (be they few or many) will be ignored, just another causality to the senseless violence he’s leaving in his wake…in an attempt to clear his name…I just can’t even fathom that making sense to him, or anyone else…
I do this every time a school shooting or similar occurs (I mean à la Columbine, not Newtown) — I just can’t wrap my head around how anyone could commit that sort of violence. That isn’t self-defense, or lashing out in anger, or even the sort of violence a users use; it basically amounts to declaring your own private war and it just boggles my mind.
Nobinayamu, thankfully the two women shot by the LAPD were not killed. One is in stable condition in a hospital, and the other was released after receiving stitches.
Hard to understand how an unarmed 71 year old Latina woman and her daughter out delivering newspapers could have been mistaken for an armed African American man in a truck of a different model and color — but at least they survived.
Oh, and sorry I posted about this on the wrong thread, but one PUA story looks a lot like another. Anyway, I see you already caught that he mentioned the concept of misandry.

Doad points out that Dorner has in fact shot more people so far (5 to 2)…but so far he has an apparent 100% record of shooting people he intends to shoot, to the LAPD’s 0%, so as it stands, if you’re an innocent bystander, it’s the LAPD who should make you want to hit the deck.
But regardless, now we just have to hope they will catch him so that people can stop shooting each other for the moment.

Basically the dude was heading for being a part-time private security guard with a crank website about the LAPD and legal bills he couldn’t pay from any soon-to-be-summarily-dismissed lawsuit he might eventually bring against the department. So he decided to prove that the boys in blue aren’t bulletproof and 11-99 is a thing. If community activists could get the consent decree reinstated, they would, but Official LA has decided that the new LAPD is untouchable. And I think the fact that we’re coming out of a period (from Rampart to May Day) in which the LAPD was under pressure to reform means that the pressure he was trying to bring on the Harbor and Southwest divisions would be unwelcome even to the ACLU. The effectiveness of police reform community activism is at a nadir in LA and Orange Counties (witness the events in Anaheim, from excessive force in dispersing rioters to highly-suspicious fatal officer-involved shootings, and the death of Kelly Thomas in Fullerton) and people know it. The effectiveness of one officer with one story of excessive force to tell would be limited, nor would he necessarily be welcomed as an activist given the baggage in his manifesto.
A lot of the terror in Israel (like the Tel Aviv LGBT center shooting) is lunatic private warfare of this sort. So eyes open, heads down for those with me in the 90000-series zip codes.
