No Godwin’s Law here. This Men’s Rights Activist really IS a Nazi.

Great. Another Hitler baby.
Great. Another Hitler baby.

Well, now you’ve gone and done it, you evil feminists: you’ve turned 0bvious_Atheist into a Nazi!

We first met the Men’s Rights subreddit regular the other day, when in a fit of ingenuity he blamed the Newtown school shootings on, er, Title IX. Well, his strange political journey has continued, and on his blog, on Boxing Day, the Canadian MRA officially announced his conversion to neo-Nazism. Literally. Let’s let him explain:

I have grown impatient

I have lost my desire for conventional activism. We live in an era where men like Warren Farrell are run off campus by mobs of Femistasi, men like Keenan Midgley get maligned for trying to start Men’s Centres, JohnTheOther gets harassed in the streets and others like him get assaulted, Mr. Heimbach a white students advocate in the United States, is constantly maligned by the media and the intellectual establishment, and Jared Taylor, a meek and mild Yale graduate, is harassed at every turn by the establishment.

Huh. I have to admit I’m not completely up-to-date on all the examples of anti-white, anti-male oppression he lists here, but I would like to point out that Warren Farrell did not, in fact, get run off the University of Toronto campus. A number of students protested his visit, some of them quite rudely, but the police interceded on his behalf, clearing away protesters so he could go ahead and make his speech.

I also looked up that vague reference to “Mr. Heinbach,” and discovered that Matthew Heimbach is a student at Maryland’s Towson University who wants to start a White Student Union there. As part of his campaign for tolerance on behalf of America’s beleaguered white majority, he recently posed in front of Martin Luther King Jr.’s church in Montgomery holding a Confederate flag.

Gosh, how terribly unfair it is that some people might have criticized him for this.

Mr. Atheist continues:

I’m a young man. I don’t have the patience to go around asking for permission to exercise my inalienable, natural right to freedom of association. As Harold Covington said, Whites feel they need a permission slip from quote “the Jews” unquote to advocate for them. I feel the same thing can be said of Men’s Rights Activism. We feel that we need permission from Feminists, the intellectual establishment, and the state to self-advocate. Our entire movement has become a quest for permission from the left to self-advocate.

I’m pretty sure that not even a single molecule of that is even remotely true. What color is the sky in Imaginary Backwards Land?

We want a Men’s Ministry in the government. We want Men’s organizations on campus. We want White student unions. All of those things are politically toxic to the establishment and out of reach, and furthermore, if you look at what the “Men’s Ministries” in the Northern European welfare states have done you will remain unimpressed, and perhaps even alarmed, at how little they have mitigated the total alienation of young men from the respective societies of those countries.

Of course, the young men who are most alienated from society in the Northern (and Southern) European welfare states today are the immigrants who are so despised by Mr. Atheist and his fellow White “Nationalist” racist assholes. And these young male immigrants aren’t feeling alienated because of a lack of White Student Unions or the unimpressive actions of Men’s Ministries; they’re feeling alienated because of racism and a lack of jobs.

With this in mind we must recognize that productive organizations simply are not going to become a reality. If you doubt me, you can go look at what they did to Dr Warren Farrell when he tried to speak at the University of Toronto. I have absolutely no desire to be screamed at, spit on, expelled, fired, ostracized, and made into a pariah for simply asking to exercise my right to freedom of association.

So the fact that a couple of dozen students protested against a speaker on a college campus, delaying his talk for half an hour or so, means that normal political activity on behalf of your ass-backwards faux “civil rights movement” is impossible? Mr. Atheist, do you have any fucking idea what real civil rights advocates went through in order to get the same basic rights as everyone else, like the right to fucking vote? Do you think that feminists weren’t ever “screamed at, spit on, expelled, fired, ostracized, and made into … pariah(s)?”

What sort of strange entitled bubble do you live in that you think political activism should be painless?  Or that your political opponents should simply roll over once you express your opinions?

Congratulations intellectual establishment. After around 14 years of politically correct education at politically correct institutions run by politically correct professors you have alienated me, first as a White, and secondly as a male. I have got absolutely no patience for your goddamn processes, your forms, your organizational quotas and quorums required to get approval from the UVSS. I’m fed up, and I’m going elsewhere else to self-advocate.

If you’re really serious about going “elsewhere else,” might I suggest another planet?

As market Anarchists and Libertarians constantly must remind you crypto-Marxists, if you ban something the buyer will go elsewhere in the market to get it. That’s exactly what I plan to do. Rather than grovelling at the feet of professors, academics, pseudo-intellectual social justice warriors, and Femistasi, I’m just going to go join the Western Front, a quasi-Neo-Nazi, semi-illegal White Nationalist political organization that accepts me for what I am and understands my problems. You have driven a relatively well off, intelligent, middle class, White male, who used to vote NDP, into the arms of the very people you taught me to despise for the totality of my formative years.

Great. I guess the one upside of all this is that Mr. Atheist won’t be calling feminists “feminazis” from now on. Not that “femistasi” is much of an improvement.

Oh, and in case anyone needs visual evidence of how much of a racist fuck 0bvious_Atheist really is — not that there’s much doubt — here’s a link to a cartoon he stuck onto the end of one of his recent YouTube videos. But first, a TRIGGER WARNING for really really racist rape imagery. Link.

(Note: There doesn’t seem to be any information online about a neo-Nazi group called Western Front, at least not in Canada. There was evidently one by that name in Los Angeles at one point. Does this group, like the anti-white-male oppression he talks about, exist only in 0bvious_Atheist’s head? EDITED TO ADD: There is a group called Northwest Front; presumably that’s what he meant.)

Cloudiah: Joe Hill is odd, because the trial seems to have been affected by his unwillingness to deal with some of the facts.

But we can just use Sacco and Vanzetti, if we want that sort of thing.

Does your semester start tomorrow?

Dude, it’ll only take you a few hours to learn that math. If you have a week, you could relearn everything from basic to algebra in one day, and geometry and trig the rest of the week. The limiting factor is how long you can sit over a book reading it till your brain begins to feel like mush.

Diogenes: Are you paying attention?

Do you think I’m stupid?

The limiting factors are: 1:Application deadlines. 2: Absolute requirements.

Needed: Either a HS Diploma, or, 6 quarter hours of college math from an accredited institution. Yes, CLEP would count, if I tested out of Algebra I and Alegebra II.

So you think I can get two quarters more math than I ever studied, master it to the level required to pass the tests, and do all of that in a trivial amount of time†.

To what end? Save the time required to fill out a form and the cost of stamp?

As I said, you are pretending you know better than I what I need, what I am capable of, and how to manage my life. What makes you think 1: You have the knowledge to do that, and 2: that I have any interest in your opinion?

Seriously. Where have I shown the least expression of thinking you at all clueful? Where have we engaged in an exchange of intimates? Why in the name of all that’s holy would you expect me to be taking, dismissive, life skills advice from you?

You who admits to not reading all I wrote on the subject before telling me what I needed to do?

† a negative, amount of time. actually The application deadline for the next term was Jan 1.

Dude, answer the questions.

Why should I chill? You’ve been rude. You deserve to be treated like an asshole, because 1: you’ve been an asshole, and 2: you failed to pay attention to what had been said to others, and 3: ignored the signs that your interlocutor (that would be me) was losing patience (pro-tip, avuncular is rarely used by people who are pleased with one).

It would also be a trifle better for you were you to realise you aren’t in a position to made demands, set the rules of debate, control the way things are done here.

In other words, you still need to grow up.

Why should you chill?

Well, some perspective. You don’t accomplish anything by getting frustrated. I’m a person on the interwebs you don’t even know. In the scheme of things in your life, I don’t really play a part in anything. I’m just a commenter on a website you like to visit.

Lets imagine I got you really really riled up. Who in real life would you vent to? Would you actually vent, or instead not say anything because you would sound petty to the person you’re talking to?

So yeah, getting riled up over something I said, especially as it wasn’t intended to upset you is a bit of a strong reaction.

@Cloudiah

Oh god, I went through and read that page, and the comments.

But seriously, they’re portraying INDIA as a “man-hating” society?

Do they actually know nothing about India? Have they never heard of Eve-teasing? The dowry system? Bride burning? Female infanticide? Sex selective abortion? Forced marriages? Child brides?

They only have to read the news! There have been so many stories reported (certainly in the UK,the BBC is good at covering these issues) about Eve-teasing and the terrible way rape victims are treated in India.

But then I should probably expect nothing in terms of intelligence from a movement that counts among its members a man who thinks Saudi Arabia is a Gynocracy. *cough*TomMartinIamtalkingaboutyou*cough*

Lets imagine I got you really really riled up

Dude… riled up? No. Irked, as one is with a small rock in one’s sock, that little pebble which keeps hiding under the arch of the foot, and then comes back.

When you say, “chill”, what you mean is, “ignore the asshole, and don’t call him on it”. If you were more than just a naive soul on the internet (say an Argenti, or a hellkell: chosen for topical reasons), it would be different.

But you aren’t. You, in the face of evidence to the contrary, presume to know better than everyone else, and in this case on an issue; not of abstraction (like the voynich manuscript, or fermat’s last theorem, or the invention of X, or… well just about everything), but on a personal one.

So yeah, getting riled up over something I said, especially as it wasn’t intended to upset you is a bit of a strong reaction.

Ooh… intent. You didn’t intend to be a social doucebag, so it doesn’t count. What rubbish.

Argenti and hellkell said similar things to you. When I told them 1: it wasn’t relevant, and 2: it was counterproductive, they said, “Oh, ok.” and drove on. You, in your infinite wisdom, didn’t. You didn’t read what had been said. Ignored that more than just myself told you it had already been covered, and went on to spout nonsense.

If I am offended it’s because you were offensive, and too stupid to see why.

I asked you two questions.

Are you paying attention?

Do you think I’m stupid?

I asked because so far as I can tell, the answers to those are 1: No, you aren’t, and 2: Yes, you do. To give the specific advice you did requires pretty much that to be the case. If you’d been paying attention, you would have seen my answers to the ideas you were repeating.

If you didn’t think I was stupid you would have accepted my assessment of the situation, esp. when I made it directly to you.

So it’s not an issue of my being “riled up”, it’s an issue of good manners. You didn’t exhibit them, and I told you so. To which (in your usual way) you replied dismissively, as if it weren’t your fault that you were an ill-mannered lout.

It is, and more people, not just here I would imagine, probably need to tell you, if there is any hope of you becoming well-mannered.

Why does Diogenes the Dim think he has enough good will built up to give advice? The arrogance is stunning.

Dingleberry, stop trying to insert yourself where you’re not wanted. If you’re this rude elsewhere, it would explain a lot.

Some Gal Not Bored at All

@Diogenes

As someone who has taught and tutored college math (remedial to Calc 3), your advice seems worse than useless.

The Kittehs' Unpaid Help

Now now, we can’t expect Diogenes to use his brain. It’s been dormant so long. After all, this is the bloke who thinks “doesn’t believe in the Bible” = “atheist”. And presumes to know what someone’s beliefs, and gets it arse about face, despite lots of threads where that information was mentioned.

Hmm, am I seeing a pattern here?

Diogenes The Cynic

I don’t think you’re dumb, which is why I don’t see the idea of you mastering some lower level math classes as being difficult.

hellkell

Am I arrogant? Hell yeah I am. I’ve been called “the most arrogant person ever met” by several people. I don’t feel the need to have to apologize for existing like other people do, and that makes people who aren’t confident in themselves hate me for being the person they would want to be more like.

And how does goodwill factor into any of this?

NYE I met a friend of mine. He’s got his series-7 license and operates his own investing firm. Now, he got as far as he is in life thanks to his father. He began by investing family money and made that grow into some good cash. The dude was born into the ivy league, cigar smoking, ferrari driving, mansion dwelling status that so many people want. I on the other hand grew up a war refugee and extremely poor. I moved out at 18, and everything I have is from the sweat of my brow. I’ll be honest when I say I don’t let him pay for drinks at the bar when we hang out because I resent his background a bit (i.e. fuck your wallet, I’m paying). So when he suggested to me that I “swallow my pride” and work for someone else, yeah, it burned a bit. I like working for myself, but I know its not going to make me real money. He pointed out J.D. Rockefeller and Henry Ford as examples to me. Good points.

So, as much as I resent the idea of not being self-employed, I’m willing to suck it in, work for a company, and go through the embarrassment of sending out my resume, and sitting in interviews. And its not because of goodwill, or anything like that. Its because its the thing that makes the most sense.

Some gal

If you had it your way, how would math be taught at high schools, and college? Would you go the rote-work route, or try to get students to understand math as conceptual, or what? Lets say you’re writing the curriculum. What do you think is best?

I’m sure the answer you give will not be that the system we have now is ideal.

kitteh,

So I’ll concede that Bahai and Sheiks are monotheists.

And that even if they don’t adhere to the same exact interpretation of the Bible that I use that Muslims, and Christians are also monotheists. Good point.

Because, double-bacon genius burger, no one here likes you, i.e., you have no goodwill built up to where anyone would want your advice.

You wouldn’t take an investment tip from someone you didn’t like even if it did make sense?

If a virtual stranger, who I neither liked nor respected, and who had no track record of analyzing situations correctly or accurately predicting market behavior — if that person were to offer me an investment tip, I would be pretty stupid to follow it. Especially if that person offered the tip in a way that made it clear s/he had completely failed to understand the context or the facts on the ground.

This really isn’t hard, Dingleberry.

I think the point you’re missing here, Dingleberry, is that it’s not just that people here don’t like you, it’s that we think you’re a fucking moron.

You know – because of all those stupid things you said, and keep saying.

Like for example, here you clearly don’t understand how unsolicited advice works. It’s not a difficult concept, you know.
