Men’s Rights Posters Now Officially Sillier Than Their Parodies

It’s hard to parody Men’s Rights Activists, because no matter how ridiculous your parody is, there’s a good chance that some MRA out there has already said, or written, or sung, something even more ridiculous already.

Not that long ago, a bunch of Man Boobz regulars set out to parody the bizarre, and often inadvertently surrealistic, posters that have been popping up on MRA sites like A Voice for Men and Artistry Against Misandry. It was hard, but I think some of us managed to come up with posters that were even uglier and less coherent than the originals. I especially liked these two, from (respectively) Cliff Pervocracy and Sir Bodsworth Rugglesby III.

But alas, we have been outmaneuvered by the all-too-serious poster-makers on A Voice for Men, who have managed to produce posters that make even less sense than our silliest parodies. Take a look at this one, which I believe is the work of an Australian MRA by the name of Roger O. Thornhill.

I mean, really. How can we compete with that?

This is an actual poster that some MRAs think will actually win people over to their cause.  How, I’m not exactly sure. What exactly about a cupcake with a tiara is supposed to scream “men’s rights”  to random pedestrians who might catch a glimpse of this poster wheatpasted to a hoarding while on their way to work?

For more of Roger’s fine work, see here and here.

Man Boobzers, can you do better?

Or, if you’re not up to that Herculean task, could you at least try to explain just what exactly you think Mr. Thornhill was trying to say with that poster of his?

EDITED TO ADD: I have been asked to contribute a poster myself. So here one is. You can find many more hilarious and incredibly ugly posters at ArtistryForFeminismAndKittens and, of course, in the comments below!

I wonder how many people hear “red pill” these days and automatically still think of the Matrix. I mean, I saw the movie way back and if someone brought up “you can take the red pill or the blue pill” I’d have gotten the reference, but if it weren’t for the MRM, hearing “red pill” out of context probably would not have made me think of the movie.

I am now viewing his profile. He types like he is Twitter Chuck Palahniuk, and from what I can gather he is very concerned with the rights and welfare of those in the military and hates libertarians. However he also seems to hate liberals (so no idea why he followed me) and retweets Ayn Rand quotes. I can’t tell what his views on women are.

Also his background image is a bunch of bullet shells. I am not sure what it is about my Twitter that would have appealed to this guy.

Maybe he’s a spambot? I got one of those recently.

Although that sounds very well set-up for a spambot. It’s like how I would do a spambot.

If he likes Ayn Rand… well Varpole claims to be an Objectivist. I’ve known some who weren’t douchenozzles to women, but they as rare as hens’ teeth.

Yay, Stepford Knife is playing too.

@lauralot, that is weird. Googling that phrase led me here. Sadly, this blog is no longer active.

I probably should not click a link to a blog called Red Swallow while at work…then again I probably shouldn’t be on Manboobz at work.

How many followers does he have Lauralot? If it’s <5000, I'd say block him because he'll probably try start a 'debate with' (have a tantrum at) you and is just following waiting for something to pick up on. If it's more than 5000 and it's just posting Rand quotes, it's a spambot. Some of them are fairly well set up, I've got some similar ones following me. They just pick up on keywords in your tweets.

He’s got 314 followers. Most of his retweets seem coherent at least, and his posts sort of are as well. I doubt he’s a bot. Regardless, he’s going to have to wait a while if he’s looking for something to get mad about in my tweets because at the moment all I’m talking about is how Batman would look while eating a sandwich. Maybe I can bore him to death.

I like the ones who follow me then get offended when I say something about veganism, anarchism or feminism, given that they’re pretty much the first three words in my bio.

I just realized I never put anything in my bio. I should probably get on that.

That blog is not pornographic, but may or may not be SFW depending on your workplace. The images are stock photography with red pills added in weird spots; he talks about sneaky females, using his pimp hand, etc.

Anyway… There are a bunch of posts on the Spreadhead about women in the military if pecunium feels like fisking them. 🙂

Totally late here, and probably far too overtly mocking, but I did have fun with it. Here’s hoping I don’t fail the linkage. *croses fingers*

My favorite quote from the Spreadhead:

Now that we’re calling people who are innately better suited to giving hummers than to driving in them soldiers, it’s time to call it quits.

Like, if you’re going to take the position that women are innately less qualified to serve in the military, maybe don’t choose as your example something like driving a vehicle. Unless that’s a “lady drivers, amirite” reference?

giving hummers

Well, I’ve never heard it called that before…

They also seem to think that child support is lavish compensation for childcare, when in reality paid child care is much more expensive AND taking on child care duties tends to diminish the earning power of a woman. Typically women get an additional job AND a pay cut. MRAs don’t see domestic work as work- they see it as what women are for. Its hard to think that a toaster is burdened by making toast, I suppose.

Any time an MRA refers to child support as lavish “cash and prizes” for the lucky custodial parent, remember: the average support payment in the U.S. is around $400 a month, and the median is around $300. That’s just about the bare-bones cost of feeding and clothing a child, with no additional expenses. We’re not talking the Irish Sweepstakes here.

Interesting tidbit from the Census Bureau: About 40% of support payments go to adults rather than children, usually elderly parents. When will MRAs tackle the issue of men giving cash and prizes to those greedy, no-good old people? Since women live longer than men, those bitches are making out like bandits!

Suz, I’m sorry, but I talked it over with my husband and he’d prefer I not have sex with your son. But thanks for the kind offer. I’m sure he’s a special boy.

Confounded! WordPress apparently swallowed my prior comment, thanking Suz for her accolades. I’m glad to have provided Suz with entertainment — which is, I am sure, more fun than she ever sees at home.

Anyway, shorter Suz:

“Damn you, uppity bitchez for getting educations and aspiring to well-paid jobs. My son the Marine will fuck and each and every one of you real good, and then he won’t even stay the night, you whores. Instead, you’ll be sitting there on the cooling wet spot, your slutty hair all disheveled, wondering if you’ll ever be fucked like that again. But you won’t. Haha! My son won’t marry you, and you won’t have the pleasure of having me all up in your marital business. Cry! And get a cat or two, because that’s the logical outcome of a woman’s failure to get my son to marry her. Your life will be over once my son is done with you, because after THAT kind of fucking — by a Marine! With a classic car! — nothing will ever again give you pleasure in life. Not traveling to exotic places, not swimming, not ice-cream, not fucking other people, and certainly not having an interesting, rewarding job, your uppity slutty slut sluts. Nothing in life would ever compare to the sheer intensity of the joy of being married to my son and having me for a mother-in-law. Nothing! NOTHING!! Hamsterz!!”

the average support payment in the U.S. is around $400 a month, and the median is around $300.

Just ran some quick figures – $300 is about what you’d spend if you bought a small cafe mocha* every day (30 per month) and then went out to 20 lunches a month (roughly every work day) at $10 a pop. Bump that up to two coffees and you’ll get close to $400.

Not hating on having coffee or eating lunch out – I’ve been known to do both – but if you’ve got enough money to do those things, you might have enough to pay your child support.

@Fitzy – no I have no problem at all with a paperwork “sworn statement” legally filed for a “paper abortion”. In fact that would naturally be a legal requirement. I DO have a problem with Amused’s sick idea that the disowning father make a VIDEO stating such and the kid be forced to watch it. That’s just fucking sick. Also, it’s sexist, because women are not forced to do anything like that when they give up a child for adoption / fostering.

Also, in my discussion with Cloudiah I addressed the issue of how late in the game a man might be permitted legally to excercise this option and I agreed with her that some form of financial penalty (child support) should be payable by anyone leaving it past a certain point. Scroll back and read.

Perhaps in future you might try reading what I actually write – instead of making shit up.
