You may want to step back and take a look at the entire thread here, especially nigglereddit’s original post about the different ways he and his wife have responded to being new parents, in which he mocks his wife for what sounds very much like undiagnosed postpartum depression, blaming her misery not on brain chemistry or sleep deprivation or any of a zillion other things that tend to stress out new mothers but on all those terrible women’s magazines and books and TV shows she reads and/or watches.
Also, he pats himself on the back for being a totally cool and awesome dude who handles both his job and his duties as a father in a super awesome way — way better than his wife handles her new motherhood — because he’s a man, damnit, and totally able to see the world in an objective way.
Needless to day, this meaty slab of misogynist shitthatneverthappened got dozens up upvotes from the r/mensrights regulars.

I can’t really understand why someone would want to delineate ahead of time all the little traits their SO-of-the-future must have. I can’t even like the idea of it, let alone want to put it into practice and actually FIND someone who fits all the bullet points on my (nonexistent) list. Isn’t part of liking someone liking the opportunity to connect with a human being who isn’t YOU? (Or a clone of you, or a severely limited mental bookmark of [Other Person] created by you to fill an archetype like “girlfriend” or “wife” or “lover”…)
It’s thrilling to know that another person, another whole, unique, self-defined person who’s different from YOU, nevertheless finds you worthy of spending time with. You want to be surprised by them, you want to see all the ways in which they’re different from you because that proves that you are likable to someone who isn’t you (or head-clone-bookmark you). You’re attracted to them at least in part because you’re interested in their unique perspective on the world, so you’re pleased every time they make you think in a different way than you did before. If you pre-define everything that they have to be and do and think… you’re not connecting with a real person anymore. It’s just more YOU. And you might as well be alone in the universe.
I guess I just perceive relationships as an opportunity to broaden my own horizons and try new things, whereas it appears that Mojo just wants an opportunity to enforce order on his world in the form of a person. He doesn’t want his horizons to be broadened; he’d rather keep everything in his life under strict control, thanks.
It seems to me, though, that aside from things that one truly finds non-negotiable, which for me includes really basic things like respecting human life and dignity (in the form of not murdering/abusing/raping/etc.), the details should be left to the person whose personhood it is. So that they can show you the details, in the process of showing you who they really are.

Boy do I feel sorry for his wife! I have a newborn right now and I would go batty without the support, help, and encouragement from hubby. There’s the physical recovery on top of virtually no sleep. I think the point is that in Mojo’s case bisexual doesn’t mean “prefers both genders,” but more likely means “willing to experiment with women for the purpose of turning me on.”
