Oh, ladies, you poor, deluded ladies, so unaware of the basic facts about yourselves. If only you had an objective source for information on the mystery that is you! Happily, a Men’s Rights Redditor by the name of nigglereddit has decided to throw a giant clue your way:
You may want to step back and take a look at the entire thread here, especially nigglereddit’s original post about the different ways he and his wife have responded to being new parents, in which he mocks his wife for what sounds very much like undiagnosed postpartum depression, blaming her misery not on brain chemistry or sleep deprivation or any of a zillion other things that tend to stress out new mothers but on all those terrible women’s magazines and books and TV shows she reads and/or watches.
Also, he pats himself on the back for being a totally cool and awesome dude who handles both his job and his duties as a father in a super awesome way — way better than his wife handles her new motherhood — because he’s a man, damnit, and totally able to see the world in an objective way.
Needless to day, this meaty slab of misogynist shitthatneverthappened got dozens up upvotes from the r/mensrights regulars.
Thanks to r/againstmensrights for pointing me to this terrible post.
EDITED TO ADD:
Speaking of which, the good folks at r/againstmensrights have assembled these handy guides to the shittiest comments in the shitty r/mensrights thread. A-one and a-two.
Your lack of linguistic ability is not my problem, nor is it the problem of anyone else here.
(The idea that it’s impossible to be viciously polite is particularly amusing to those of us from cultures that excel at it, such as the UK and Japan.)
So, IR, have you told all your MRA buddies about the petition to save Terrance Williams’s life? If not, why? He’s only got four days left.

Good news – it looks like the execution has been halted.

As to why MRAs didn’t bother to try to help him, I hate to state the obvious, but Williams is black, and when have MRAs ever cared about black men?
Not only that, but the people who raped him were men, not women. And we know how all rape accusations are false accusations, if the accused are male.
Your lack of linguistic ability is not my problem, nor is it the problem of anyone else here.
There are 404 results for the phrase “viciously polite” on Google. The third result:
An elegant and viciously polite smack down of an whining, whingeing and ignorant proponent of so-called ‘Intelligent Design’ (Not much intelligence in its proponents from this exchange…)
You might be the one who needs to brush up her linguistics, if your intent was to offend me. I am more flattered by the descriptor than anything else.
Exactly. There was no way for them to spin his story to serve their purposes, so why would they bother to try to help him?
It’s pretty depressing. I’m just glad that some people did care enough to help him, even if it wasn’t the people who claim to be all about helping men who’re being treated unfairly by the criminal justice system.
I didn’t say that your attempt to adopt a viciously polite tone had been successful. In fact thus far your new approach has been a complete failure, just like the last approach. Maybe you should try making a game in which you complain about how rude feminists are being to you? I’ll leave the task of coming up with deeply messed up visual imagery to you, since that’s your specialty.
As to why MRAs didn’t bother to try to help him, I hate to state the obvious, but Williams is black, and when have MRAs ever cared about black men?
Black MRAs maybe? Or are they not real black men?
So you’re fine with the fact that no white MRAs care about black men? Good to know.
That’s so sweet, that you think we have to “assert” ourselves in response to you. Nope, IR/FF/PP, but like Popeye, I yam what I yam and what you think is completely irrelevant.
By the way, why are you such a racist?
And after I generously offered him the opportunity to dig up some white MRAs who’re good allies to black men, too.
It’s nice that he chose to express himself by not even trying to do so.
Cassandra, earlier you said:
You appear to believe that adopting a viciously polite tone will convince onlookers that you are a calm and reasonable person who is being unfairly attacked.
Which implies that a viciously polite tone had been adopted. You then state:
(The idea that it’s impossible to be viciously polite is particularly amusing to those of us from cultures that excel at it, such as the UK and Japan.)
Which suggests that being viciously polite is a bad thing. You then contradict these two statements with the following:
I didn’t say that your attempt to adopt a viciously polite tone had been successful.
Any way you cut it, your “linguistic abilities” are not as superior as you believe. This and the following statement also imply that you have no issues with lying and misleading when it suits your own needs:
So you’re fine with the fact that no white MRAs care about black men? Good to know.
I have never suggested that and you know it. David, however, takes no issue with this and has been silent regarding the albeist suggestion that I needed a “nurse” to help me with my daily life or had issues getting dressed. I suppose there is some wisdom to the adage that idiom that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I find it fairly indisputable that social justice “activists” here care more about verbally assaulting people than doing any good.
See, this is what I meant about your lack of linguistic abilities. Actually I think that the ability to be blatantly cutting without ever technically breaking the rules of politiness is one of the best qualities of both the cultures that I mentioned. It’s a wonderful ability to have if you can pull it off, it’s just that watching you try and fail is tedious.
Okay, if it wasn’t a race thing, then why didn’t MRA’s take up the cause of Terrance Williams? They can’t claim ignorance, since feminist blogs were covering it and MRA’s can’t stay away from feminist blogs to save their lives.
Why didn’t the people who claim to be so very, very concerned about the plight of unjustly imprisoned men rally around THIS unjustly imprisoned man, especially since he was facing THE DEATH PENALTY?
That MRA dumbguy who got Futrelle banned has now said that he hopes David gets cancer and dies.
Nothing hateful about MRAs at all, no siree.
We have people here who are union stewards defending men’s (and women’s) jobs, working in homeless shelters that serve men and women, organizing with Occupy, etc. etc. WTF do YOU do to do any good? No one even reads your blog except you and Russian spammers. I feel sorry for you, but you lack the self awareness to feel sorry for yourself.
Cassandra, I notice you have revised your prior statement to “all white MRAs don’t care about black men”. Is revisionism indicative of superior linguistic abilities and education?
You find me tedious because of some obscure, abstract measure. Well, I find your disingenuous nature a bit tedious myself, but what is grating me is this clear and apparent hypocrisy by someone who thinks her moral superiority gives her a free asshole pass against anyone who disagrees with her. This is why feminism is so repulsive to so many people, not concepts like “misogyny” or “the patriarchy”.
No, I find you tedious because you’re boring, pedantic, and often dishonest. And because you have for some unexplained reason decided that this new tone you’ve decided to adopt will lead people to forget your previous behavior. The idea that superficial politeness somehow wipes out a history that includes things like Preggo Punchout I mostly find amusing.
We have people here who are union stewards defending men’s (and women’s) jobs, working in homeless shelters that serve men and women, organizing with Occupy,
Okay, two of those are political actions and politics are not as black-and-white as you would like to believe. Since you bring up “Occupy”…
often dishonest
Like I said, hypocrisy. You said that “MRAs don’t care about black men”, and when I show a black MRA because it’s the most obvious evidence to the contrary, you suddenly meant to say that “white MRAs don’t care about black men”. Does perceived dishonesty somehow justify deliberate dishonesty?
Oh look, FactFailer is still here, still having not retracted his excuses for Elam’s advocacy of violence.
The problem you have here, to be succinct, is that you are attempting to argue from a position of assumed moral authority. Since you have done nothing to demonstrate moral authority, and several things to indicate that you don’t have any, all of your attempts to argue from that position fall flat.
If you’re going to continue attempting to argue from that position this is a problem that you’ll need to address.
Question-dodging duly noted.
Cassandra, why did you revise your statement? Simple question, simple answer.
You honestly don’t recognize when people are mocking your rhetorical style by imitating it? Oh dear.
