Vox Day: Save the world by throwing women out of school

Women going against nature.

The dudes of the manosphere are concerned, deeply concerned, about the fate of young women today who won’t have the opportunity to marry dudes richer and better educated than they are, as they are apparently hard-wired by evolution to do. Turns out when women start investing in good educations and getting good jobs, some of them end up making more than most dudes! Clearly, this portends disaster, for these young ladies, and for civilization itself.

On his Alpha Game blog, reactionary racist doucheblogger Vox Day has a puckish solution to the Hypergamy Crisis: we should just eject a good chunk of women from our universities – as 36 of Iran’s universities have recently announced they will do, starting in the coming academic year, by making 77 different fields of study male only.

Vox explains his, er, logic:

[T]he Iranian action presents a potentially effective means of solving the hypergamy problem presently beginning to affect college-educated women in the West. Only one-third of women in college today can reasonably expect to marry a man who is as well-educated as they are. History and present marital trends indicate that most of the remaining two-thirds will not marry rather than marry down. So, by refusing to permit women to pursue higher education, Iran is ensuring that the genes of two-thirds of its most genetically gifted women will survive in its gene pool.

Well, that’s one … way of looking at it.

No doubt the Iranian approach will sound abhorrent to many men and women alike. But consider it from a macro perspective. The USA is in well along the process of removing most of its prime female genetics from its gene pool as surely as if it took those women out and shot them before they reached breeding age. Which society’s future would you bet on, the one that is systematically eliminating the genes of its best and brightest women or the one that is intent upon retaining them?

Let’s just say I’m going to bet on the one that respects and utilizes the talents of all of its people, instead of treating half the population as little more than egg repositories and baby-making machines.

This isn’t the first time dear Vox has addressed the dangers of allowing women into college. See here for some comments from him that are a good deal worse than the ones I quoted here. (TW: Violence against women.)

Hmm, I sincerely thought you folks would like the Good Men Project. Go figure.

Erm… Can someone explain to me why its crucial to save the genes of highly intelligent women if there is never supposed to be any chance of a woman using that intelligence in a rigorous fashion? Sure, some of that IQ might get passed on to sons, but men have a good more varience on the bell curve for IQ, so you’re not really guarenteed anything.

Nothing like squandering half the resources at your disposal I guess.

@SomeGuy

Why do you have always have to steer the conversation to something YOU want to talk about? The OP is about hypergamy, not gender roles. Again I implore thee: get your own blog. You can talk about whatever you want there.

Oh. That’s a little sad, actually. Kay, I’ve been there, and the dudes are not bad human beings, like you see in A Voice for Men, but I do think they are largely full of shit. There are plenty of decent seeming people who are just trying to sort out this whole gender thing while still being deeply suspicious of feminism, but in avoiding their best (and only) data source on gender politics they usually end up being wrong. Here we have some hilariously nasty people who are usually right. See, the crowds don’t really mix. But go start writing on your blog! We will all totally read it.

@ pillowinhell- why, so she can pass on her smart-person genes to her sons, of course! Her many many sons she will be able to have and raise without the burdens of an education and a career holding her back!

Some guy, are you like this elsewhere, always barging and trying to talk about whatever you want? You must be such a hit at parties.

At the risk of stating the obvious – if he finds the “Iranian Approach” so appealing I’m sure one-way airfare to Tehran could be arranged.

You know, a lot of this “we must protect our genes” stuff seems to assume that genetics is the primary source of what is good in society.

It’s err, well, sorta not. At least not entirely, and quite likely not mostly.

Let’s consider IQ. IQ varies greatly with age, education, attitude, and just about everything else, and that’s just the relatively tiny piece of intelligence that we can MEASURE. If that little bit oscillates all over the place imagine what the big picture does.

If we REALLY wanted to protect society we would be protecting those social environments which encourage the best behavior/traits. That has more of a direct effect than genetics alone.

If Vox Day were really concerned about intelligence he’d campaign for expansions to WIC and food stamps. Good nutrition is, afaik, one of the things best-correlated with IQ, and even if it isn’t correlated with intelligence, at worst you end up with well-fed kids, which is a net win.

I am quite certain, Some Guy sir, that if I wanted to read the GMP I would go to the GMP. I know where it is. I blog there. They pay me. It’s a thing. I am pretty sure anyone else who wants to read the GMP also knows where it is. (You should read my stuff, it’s awesomer.)

Not to mention that someone can have a high IQ and still be a complete douchebag who’d do the species a favour by not breeding. 😛

The GMP depresses me. I mean, in principle it’s great that such a thing exists, but their definition of what makes a good man is so archaic and self-serving sometimes.

I read a few of the GMP bloke’s pieces on HuffPo, and they seemed quite good. But this! What a load of bollocks. Sad.

Gave up on HuffPo. It’s infested with NiceGuy(TM)s and MRA types in general. Didn’t know the terms when I used to read it, but boy do they ring bells now I do.

There’s one guy from the GMP whose articles used to get republished on Jezebel, and he’d always turn up and respond to every single non-positive comment with endless whining about how the silly ladies don’t appreciate what a Nice Guy he is and what he’s trying to do for them and btw why are you all so hysterical? Obviously they kept publishing his stuff because Gawker loves to troll its own readers, but it wasn’t even his articles so much that led me to put him firmly in the this guy is a sexist jackass category, it’s the way he responded to disagreement from women.

Gakk, a NiceGuy who thinks he’s a white knight as well …

There was one loser (among many) on HP who seemed to live on the women’s page. His one subject was how his alleged sexless marriage was exactly the template for every marriage everywhere forever. If he really was married, and it really was sexless, I’m not surprised. He was like a mosquito whining in your ear, but without the sting.

What we have learned from genomics makes it quite clear that human evolution does not occur on historical time scales. We are the same species we were prior to the invention of agriculture. Minor traits are accentuated in separated human populations but the scale of differences between individuals of the same population dwarfs the scale of differences between populations.

Any other view is, in effect, racism. There is one human species.

Sure, educated women breed less, but with 7 billion people on this planet, that’s a good thing. We need more women around the world to be educated for just that reason, plus the fact that we should all have the freedom to pursue happiness. So if a woman wants to be educated, then more power to her.

You know? I’ve been browsing around the Internet looking at the latest Republican fuckuppedness; and then I come here; and all I can think is:

“FREAKS. The world is full of FREAKS.”

No, okay, more to the point. The ways in which the MRA’s spin farther and farther out, and get more and more baldly horrific in what they say out loud seems sort of mirrored by the Republican party.

and, are FREAKS. FREEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAKS.

It really is sickening that these dudes think intelligent women can’t possibly contribute to society in any way other than by producing lots of (male) offspring.

Relevant, by the way: Limbaugh’s fear of “feminazis” would now appear to have morphed into koro.
