No misogyny today, just kittens. And some photoshop filtering, to disguise the fact that I’m sort of a crappy photographer.

Much adorbs.
My new roommate has a long-haired wiener dog that I’m very excited to start living with! Roommate showed up last night but the dog won’t come until tomorrow, probably.
Have you ever just looked at a tassle?
Like, really looked at it?
Like, whoa, man.
What if we’re just a part of someone else’s toy? And they’re part of an even bigger toy? And so on, and so on, all the way to infinity?
They’re getting so big! Totally adorable.
They’re already more than twice as big as when I got them a little over a month and a half ago. They eat a LOT. (And poop a lot, too.)
Clairedammit: CATCEPTION!
Hi, I am new 🙂 I really like the first photo
Came for the mysogony mocking, stayed for the Kittehs(but really for the mysogony mocking)
With the filter, that first picture looks like really awesome stenciled graffiti.
Inception cat is awesome. David, your kitties are also awesome.
David, love the filter on those pics, especially the second one. ::contemplates how to get similar effects from freebie photo programs::
And the kitteh gorgeousness! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I mainly just used neon glow, and fiddled with the contrast and color saturation. A lot of the graininess comes from the fact that the original pics were pretty grainy, mainly because I really have no idea how to photograph things properly. A lot of the nice details in the fur, etc didn’t really become visible before I ran the pics through the filters.
I think GIMP has a neon glow filter, but I never figured out how to use GIMP.
David, your photos look fine, but I’m guessing you don’t have a DSLR? Decent interior shots (especially of people and animals) are really hard to take handheld without one, so it’s not you. You could crank up your ISO to 800 or 1600, if you haven’t already, and up the exposure compensation up by 1/3 to 2/3 and that might give you more detail.
Me neither. Tried it, but my brain imploded. Too much like Adobe stuff, I can’t work their language out at all (and stuffed if I’m paying the sort of money Photoshop wants anyway, if I’m going to spend ridiculous amounts of money I’ll spend it on boots). I use good ol’ basic PhotoStudio in an outdated version which does what I want better than the newer one, and there’s a freebie called Photo Pos Pro that has some interesting effects – haven’t really played with it yet but it might do something like that neon glow.
YOU GUYS!!! I was at a convention today and I totally saw a guy wearing a “No Ma’am” t-shirt!!! He was gone before I had a chance to take a picture, but I was in transports of joy that these assholes are making it so easy to identify them. Sorry for the OT, just thought I’d share the happies.
LOL speedlines! Now maybe there needs to be a tee with a “thanks for the warning” answer on it, or something … 😛
I have GIMP but I never really learned how to use it. I mostly use Paint.NET, it’s free, it’s quite easy to use and the community makes a whole bunch of different filters and effects to use with it that you can download.
I’m sure this is what my kitties were seeing this weekend. Peppermint tea seems to be a stronger drug than catnip for these two, and the local
dealerpet supply clerk gave me a free “super strong” catnip toy that had a mint smell to it.Little twits were stoned out of their tiny minds all weekend.
I’m glad you captioned these photos because for a moment there I thought our kitten overlords were finally coming clean about being in league with Cthulhu.
I use Paint.net too, Myoo, when I want to do a rain or snow effect. I love PhotoStudio but it doesn’t have ‘noise’ available for that sort of thing.
