Yep, that’s right, the “clopping” sound of high heels are a form of “street harassment.” I found the screenshot above on a promising new blog you can find at MensRightsActivism.com. Yep, that’s right. Evidently it never occurred to anyone in the Men’s Rights movement to lock down that domain name.
Oh, this little Reddit screenshot is good too:
How exactly does saying “consent is sexy” mean that male consent is taken for granted? How is it that 59 people thought that comment deserved an upvote?
I can’t answer either question, but there’s lots more hilarious and appalling stuff where that came from, mostly from the Men’s Rights subreddit. It’s going in the “antidotes to boobery” blog roll.
…what is this I don’t even.
BDSM is not rape. Good grief.
And you would TOTALLY still say that if the person giving you a blowjob was, say, your mom. Because you are a MAN and MEN don’t have any sexual preferences whatsoever! Ugh.
(Please, for the love of god, don’t respond by agreeing that you would, in fact, totally still say that.)
Yeah, we all remember when begrudging admitted it might be possible to rape a certain subset of men you contemptuously wrote off as “mentally ill” for engaging in consensual BDSM, which was offensive and ignorant on about three different levels at once.
@cloudiah; “We agree that cops might laugh at the idea of a man being raped by a woman, ”
We did agree on this reality. IN general yes it is wrong that police would laugh at anyone with a valid complaint. I have 2 businesses, one being candy vending machines. One was stolen several years ago and I reported it to the local police who thought it was funny.
Dracula — what other thread is that? Or did you mean the comment on the end of the last page here?
And um, SPH is getting off on humiliation for something that is 1) unchangeable and 2) frequently humiliated? Wouldn’t getting off on that humiliation be better than being miserably affected by it? (I mean, in ideal land only people who want to be humiliated are humiliated, but last I checked this wasn’t idea land)
Fuck, I really need to proofread better.
*ideal land (I am just full of typos today!)
Argenti – Last page.
@Argenti “Second, that’s why the CDC data has forced to penetrate as a separate category”
The CDC wasn’t referenced on the post I replied to. I’m glad I got one thing right. That’s progress. 😀
There is much head shaking going on globally about the things grampmk is saying. If we could harness the power of that head shaking, we could power a small village at least…
The stealing of candy machines is in no way comparable to rape.
@cloudiah; I used the smiley to indicate I was being sarcastic. If there is a symbol for sarcastic, please show me and I’ll use it. For the record, I’m a smartass. Hey I’m an old fart, you’re supposed to laugh at me. Have fun, life is too short. 😀
There is, sadly, no sarcasm font. So most of us use —
[sarcastic comment goes here] /sarcasm
/ being a standard coding symbol for the end of something
Why U evil thread?!
Am I the only one getting kicked back to page 5 every time I comment?
Also, honestly, how damn square do you have to be to hear, “Some guys enjoy being told ‘your dick is so small’ instead of ‘your dick is so big'” and be deeply horrified and conclude that those men should be confined to a mental ward? The world is a big place full of kinks a great deal more bizarre than that – hell, just among my friends, I can think of multiple kinks more unusual or dangerous – and this is what grampmk latches on to as his example of total, lock-them-up-for-the-good-of-society insanity?
grampmk, You’ve said so many problematic things, you’ll have to forgive me if I don’t cut you any slack.
Nope. It’s super annoying.
No, it’s happening to me to, on more than one thread (not always page five). I suspect wordpress has a backend problem.
I don’t think you really need to explain that you’re being a flippant asshole the subject at hand, gramp. But you’re sorely mistaken if you think we’re gonna get a good chuckle out of it.
@Polliwog; Anyone can post things to Wikipedia. That’s a fact not an opinion. I’ve seen many things written about a woman’s sexuality that were not true. You can’t believe all you see. And on another post I conceded there is female on male rape. But it is no where close to number of male on female rape. Yes I agree in general terms, there are some very piss poor police departments.
It has to be WP, but that is the weirdest bug, I would so not want to be the one debugging that. And page 5 is just were it’s sending me on this thread, makes sense that it wouldn’t always be page 5. (For some context here, I write WP themes for fun, though the stupid server is stupidly broken currently so everything is down <.> And I have no clue how it’s screwing up, none, at all…those are the worst kind of errors)
“Also, honestly, how damn square do you have to be to hear, “Some guys enjoy being told ‘your dick is so small’ instead of ‘your dick is so big’” and be deeply horrified and conclude that those men should be confined to a mental ward?”
I think he’s conflating SPH with the sort of CBT that would be more correctly called castration (and self-castration will get you committed in all the jurisdictions I know).
Brilliant, it sent me to page 6 that time. That last clause should say “could legally” not “will”.
grampmk — I provided that same wording directly from the FBI site.
I kept getting kicked back on the Wil page.
@grampmk
Let me try and use some anecdata for you. I am a fairly promiscuous dude, but I don’t have PIV sex with strangers. In the heat of the moment, some of the women I’ve hooked up with have tried to have PIV sex with me despite my wishes. Had I not been able to throw them off me, the resulting sex would have been rape because I had no desire for it to happen.
grampmk: “If any man were to walk into any police station and claim he was raped by a woman , he would be laughed out of that station.”
Didn’t we do this dance already? Just because the cops are assholes doesn’t make it not rape. That just means the cops are assholes.
But I think we can agree that female to male rape is so rare, it is hardly worth a mention.
You know, the people who have their pennywhistles stolen while they are at work are pretty rare too… must not be worth a mention. So no, that it’s rare doesn’t mean it’s not worth mentioning, and we can’t agree on that.
Some may call this an alternative lifestyle, I call it mentally ill. So yes there is female on male rape, but only to males that fit a certain criteria.
Yes, the criterion that their partners didn’t have their consent. Did you read my comment?
To me giving a dude a blow job isn’t rape, it’s a favor.
Not if he doesn’t want it. That’s rape.
@Argenti; I’ve been having on going discussions with several people at the same time and things are getting out of order. the FBI and CDC have different definitions of rape. And the definition of rape have changed dramatically in recent months. OK for the record, technically you are correct on all of your points vis a vis female on male rape. But I think we can agree, it is rare. And the problem of male on female rape is far more prevalent.
@Argenti; “And I can’t figure out wtf we’re discussing this for.”
Good point, I got off topic. Let’s drop it
…are you seriously contesting that men can get erections in their sleep?
It’s true, wiki is not the most reliable source in the world, but I was unaware that “‘morning wood’ is a thing that exists” was a controversial position. I am a little staggered right now.
We all agree about this. I’m not sure why it’s relevant, though. Every rape survivor, regardless of their gender or the gender of their attacker, deserves to be believed and treated with respect, and it’s really not cool when you suggest that certain rape victims should be grateful to be raped.
