Yep, that’s right, the “clopping” sound of high heels are a form of “street harassment.” I found the screenshot above on a promising new blog you can find at MensRightsActivism.com. Yep, that’s right. Evidently it never occurred to anyone in the Men’s Rights movement to lock down that domain name.
Oh, this little Reddit screenshot is good too:
How exactly does saying “consent is sexy” mean that male consent is taken for granted? How is it that 59 people thought that comment deserved an upvote?
I can’t answer either question, but there’s lots more hilarious and appalling stuff where that came from, mostly from the Men’s Rights subreddit. It’s going in the “antidotes to boobery” blog roll.
Oh, and another thing:
From Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape#Definitions
“I’m not an MRA, I’m a member of AARP and the VFW only. ”
I remember you saying that, I was questioning where the MRAs are hiding tonight, because they’d hint the roof at the idea that men can’t be raped. Well, most of them would, then there’s NWO, he agrees that it’d be a favor or neutral…as does Berge iirc…nice company there (NWO is our resident fool, Berge is under arrest in Norway for making threats to kill police)
And in before NWO gets all pissy that I called him a fool.
Argenti, SPH is “small penis humiliation.” Google sph + humiliation for more relevant results (that’s how I found it).
Why do I have the feeling grampmk is an MRA posing as a feminist and trying to lure one of us into a gotcha by saying men can’t be raped by women.
Not gonna happen jerkwad. Men do get raped by women and some studies suggest it’s more common than you’d think.
cloudiah — thank you
I’m not sure what an internet troll is, I recall hearing abut trolls under a bridge when I was a kid. But I suppose I can go to the Urban dictionary and get their take on it. I don’t go to any website to argue for the sake of argument. I’m a pragmatist and a realist. I prefer to learn things from others, not to hurl insults at people I’ve never met nor ever will meet. What’s the point? I graduated Junior High in 1960 and am too far removed to go back. I feel very lucky to be able to learn from smart young people like yourself.
@cloudiah; “I think you’re probably right that many police officers would laugh off a report of being raped by an adult man, ”
At least we agree on this point. That’s progress
“I’m not sure what an internet troll is, I recall hearing abut trolls under a bridge when I was a kid.”
Same idea, different bridge. Internet trolls hang out under internet bridges. And a pragmatist would admit male rape happens…
“At least we agree on this point. That’s progress”
…not really. I can only guess on what cloudiah meant, but I’m pretty sure I got it — cops would laugh and that’s a bad thing because it means victims aren’t being taken seriously.
Which is rather counter your idea that cops would laugh because it just doesn’t happen and the idea is laughable.
@Argenti; “Really, the rarer something is, the more press it gets, usually. Why do you think that isn’t the case here? (Hint, probably has something to do with the disbelief that it could be possible, combined with the assumption, including of the victims, that they’d be laughed at”
Well here we agree. SPH is Small Penis Humiliation. And I wasn’t talking conventional BDSM. This stuff I’ve seen may be criminal. But I’m no lawyer, so can’t say for sure.
@Argenti; “oral penetration by a sex organ of another person”
That describes a man putting his dick in a woman’s mouth, not a woman blowing a man.
“This stuff I’ve seen may be criminal. But I’m no lawyer, so can’t say for sure.”
Lol, things I’ve said about a million times around here — my best friend is a law student, we had a long boring conversation not long about about a billboard of a naked woman doing that hand-bra pose — we ended up deciding it must be legal in CT because the zoning board allowed it. By both of our readings of CT it isn’t legal.
So um yeah, maybe not make your decisions based on laws that have been around since long before the sexual revolution? (It’s also illegal to sell booze on Sunday in CT, but communion wine is acceptable…laws, they don’t always make sense)
It should be noted that the FBI rape definition is a statistical one, not a legal one.
@Argenti; Maybe the MRAs are raping each other. 😀 Did I do the smiley thing right?
grampmk, We agree that cops might laugh at the idea of a man being raped by a woman, but where I think we don’t agree is THAT WOULD BE A TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, VERY WRONG THING FOR THE COPS TO DO. I mean, I hope we could agree on that, but some of the things you’ve said make me think we probably don’t.
@Quackers; You can feel all you want. I’m an old man having fun working on his bucket list. I have no agenda and only belong to the VFW and AARP and have so long before I owned a computer
“That describes a man putting his dick in a woman’s mouth, not a woman blowing a man.”
First, see what Dracula said. Second, that’s why the CDC data has forced to penetrate as a separate category, but “forced to penetrate” is a lot bulkier to say than “rape”. (And while I’m on CT law, there is no crime of rape in CT, they use degrees of sexual assault instead, gets around a lot of these issues)
“Maybe the MRAs are raping each other. 😀 Did I do the smiley thing right?”
That first bit is a good way to summon the whiny Kraken, but considering what a tiny percent of the population is part of the MRM, it’s statistically unlikely. But yes, you did the smiley thing right.
@Argenti: “And a pragmatist would admit male rape happens…”
I did on another post
grampmk, You did the smiley thing right in the sense that it made an actual smiley face BUT YOU PUT IT IN A TERRIBLE PLACE BECAUSE NONE OF US HERE THINK THE IDEA OF MRAS RAPING EACH OTHER WOULD BE FUNNY.
*sigh* I went to the trouble of writing out a nice long post, and you didn’t even read it – or at least you didn’t read it for comprehension. Let’s break this down into smaller pieces:
Look at the first clause of mine you quoted. This is what it says:
How on EARTH is “men don’t get erections on command” a rebuttal of this? I know men don’t get erections on command! That’s why I pointed out that quite a lot of ways one can be raped do not involve an erection!
And the next bit of my post…
– and erections are caused by a whole lot of things besides active sexual desire, as almost any cis man actually knows if he stops to think about it. (
Dude, I specifically gave the example that men frequently get erections in their sleep. I am not “presuming to know what it means to be a man.” I am “presuming to know” basic human anatomy. See? Look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocturnal_penile_tumescence Men can also get erections due to stimulation of the area, regardless of whether or not they are enjoying said stimulation, or due to the effects of certain drugs. You seem to be aware that a man can want to have sex and yet not have an erection – how is it that much harder to understand that a man can have an erection and yet not want to have sex?
And yes, a male rape survivor might not be taken seriously by cops, because there’s pretty good odds of any rape survivor not being taken seriously by cops. “Some cops are pretty awful and suck at investigating crimes properly” is not actually a particularly strong argument that said crimes do not happen.
@Argenti; “but I’m pretty sure I got it — cops would laugh ”
That is the point that we agreeing on, not whether it was right or wrong.
grampmk — …then why did you need an example of an arrest for it? Why did you say just a few moments ago that a blow job is a favor, implying that it is always a favor?
everyone — I am literally shaking my head at this point.
@Argenti; Agree completely many laws don’t make sense. I only gave my opinion of what I saw. I don’t want to make you or anyone else ill,so I won’t say in graphic detail what I saw, but the actual destruction of body parts, I think may get one put in a mental ward.
@Dracula; “It should be noted that the FBI rape definition is a statistical one, not a legal one.”
Agreed.
“…but the actual destruction of body parts, I think may get one put in a mental ward.” — possibly, but could you remind me why we’re talking about this at all? You said something already about knowing that’s a small fraction of BDSM, but that was after a claim about dominatrices in general. And I can’t figure out wtf we’re discussing this for.
(Note to brain, the plural of matrix is matrices)
