Today, from the same thread I drew upon for a post the other day, I present to you yet another long-winded antifeminist manifesto from a dude who doesn’t know shit about feminism. This time the dude in question is someone calling himself Darryl X.
Here’s his little screed:

No matter how we define or relate to one another as men in the MRM, understanding the distinction between men in the MRM and feminists is more important. That is the enemy which must be destroyed. The other men in the MRM from which each of us are different are our brothers and the only important difference is that between men in the MRM and feminists. That’s the difference which defines us and on which civilization depends.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the future of civilization doesn’t actually depend on a bunch of bitter, hateful dickwads grousing on the internet about how much ladies suck.

BTW, it seems to me the solution is more help for parents from the government… if the costs of childrearing were routinely subsidized such that a single parent could easily raise kids without child support, I’d be happy to eliminate it. [/socialist]

Thomas Ball was a good man. He loved his children. Certainly more than their mother and the courts who denied them access to their father and kept persecuting him for child support he was obviously and mathematically unable to pay.
I doubt if any of you have ever fought in a war. Seen your closest acquaintances die in the most gruesome ways. Thomas Ball didn’t just die for his children. He fought in a war so that you didn’t have to. And so that you could enjoy the freedom you do right now to criticize and judge a dead man.
Thomas Ball made a mistake. And by all standards, certainly comparied to many on this site, a minor one. Living with the memory of war is incomprehensibly tough. Doing that with the guilt of not being a perfect father is even more tough.
There are many fates which could have been visitied upon Thomas Ball for his mistake. Permanent separation from his children and persecution by an irrational office of child support isn’t any of them. It isn’t just an excessive punishment of him but of his children.
I’ve made plenty of mistales in my life. I am a walking example of imperfection. But I try to be better. And so did Thomas Ball. I’m really glad Thomas Ball was around. He made my life better. Yours too. I feel awful whenever I think about the missed opportunities to help him.
No one expects you to like the guy. No one expects you to understand his experience with war. No one expects you to repsect him. But a little gratitude and sympathy would go a long way to demonsrating you’re still human. For his mistake, he didn’t deserve the fate visited upon him.
He certainly shouldn’t have felt compelled to die to make the world a better place. It isn’t. And even if none of us are directly responsible for his death, we’re indirectly responsible. None of us are better people for allowing it to happen. So stop patting yourselves on the back. For myself, I’m ashamed.

Actually, I do have one thing — “DV assault can be as minor as blocking her egress from a room or grabbing her wrist to get her to stay and talk. DON’T DO IT!”
I’m glad to see he at least admits that blocking egress is wrong, less thrilled about it being a how to get away with abuse guide, but it almost reads like if a guy actually follows all of it, he’d be not-abusive by accident (ok that still sucks, but should make it easier to just DTFMA).
Any movement who takes as its martyr a man who called for people to burn down buildings in a document that included instructions on how to create home-made incendiaries- a man who, in short, made clear he was not interested in nonviolent protest- tars itself with the same brush.
Thomas Ball called for terrorism. Idolising him is idolising a terrorist ideology. Is that what you want?

And idk if it’s my place to out him, so I won’t say who it is, but there’s at least one service member here btw.
Also, most of us, if not all of us, do sympathize with the suicidal part of Ball’s actions, the part where he thought he had some right to stay married (among other parts) is what really pisses us off. Plenty of people manage to be suicidal without calling for terrorism (hell, plenty of people manage to kill themselves without hurting anyone else).
If you actually gave a shit about suicide, instead of just using it as a talking point, you’d also realize that no, only the person who kills themself is responsible.
Argenti, also, Ball had every opportunity to g anger management and work with court, but CHOSE not to. Darryl seems to be missing this point.
Please don’t associate Thomas Ball and what he did with the military. Just because he was a soldier didn’t give the right to do what he did. As for feeling compelled to die to make the world a better place, that’s on him. And if you’re ashamed, well that’s on you. I have no sympathy for Ball. I’m only grateful that he didn’t take his kids with him, like Josh Powell.
When someone hits their child hard enough to make the child bleed they have officially failed at being a good person.
You’re lionizing a person who bloodied his child’s face and decided to end his life in an act of terrorism rather than face the consequences. You damn well should be ashamed. Find yourself a new hero.
