How many breaths does it take you to DESTROY THE FEMINSIT MONSTER?

Today I’d like to present to you a really ranty old post from Masculist Man on his unimaginatively named Men’s Rights Blog.

But let’s do this a little differently this time. Let’s make it a little contest.

I want you to take a deep breath, loosen up your tongue, and see how much of his rant you can read, out loud, in one breath. (Just don’t kill yourself in the process, please.)

Why the militancy

That question has been asked by many MRA’s and the answer should be obvious: what has moderation accomplished for us? What has “niceness” done for us? Besides getting us deeper into this mess. Why be nice to an enemy that not only wants to take everything from you but would like to see you DEAD on top of it. Not only that but if you are a father with sons the average feminist would like to see your young sons dead too …

Oh, crap, that’s as far as I got. Deep, deep breath. Here’s the rest. It took me five breaths to get through it. See if you can beat me.

just because they are male. These Neville Chamberlains would have you believe they can accomplish peace in our time by making deals with these devils and just like any deal with the devil they get burned. Not only them but the rest of us as well. Then the moderates have the nerve to tell us to shut up or we’ll play into the feminist hands. The one thing that I think of is that if we stay silent we definitely will play into the feminists hands, the same if we play “nice”. If we play nice, just as we have for the last 160 years (if you include feminism as a whole) or for 40 years (if you are focusing on 2nd wave feminism) then we will continue to get fucked. Why the militancy? Because it is hard to be nice when you are getting assfucked in court (family to criminal to civil) and it’s really hard to be nice when society blames YOU for what happens in a “he said/she said” situation even though SHE IS THE ONE AT FAULT and it’s really hard to be nice and pleasant when you try to illustrate what is happening to you and/or other men in society when everybody wants to play the ostrich and would rather not know, that is until another “he said/she said” situation arises again and then it’s boom, they back off to the races to repeat the same mistakes as last time and when they do they are applauded by the lemmings that make up society lest they are labelled “politically incorrect”. It seems they would rather kill their own families to avoid being labelled “politically incorrect”. A big problem with moderates is that they are usually staffed by older manginas or young men from single mother homes that don’t want to upset women and that there defeats the purpose of being an MRA because if you don’t upset women then you will stay silent concerning mens’ issues and the women win by your silence. TO ERODE WOMEN’S POWER OVER MEN ONE MUST SPEAK UP AND DESTROY THE FEMINSIT MONSTER THAT WANTS TO DESTROY YOU AND YOUR BROTHERS.

Instead of asking why the militancy one should ask is the militancy legitimate? and the answer is “yes”.

It kind of reminds me of the last chapter of Joyce’s Ulysses. Except, y’know, not marvelously about life.

I got to “Nevile Chamberlains” and my breath gave out. Also, my cats were looking at me funny. (That may be because they have sensed they are going to the vet in a few minutes.)

It’s all gotta be metaphors to make the oppression sound oppressiony, doesn’t it. Assfucking, killing your own family, being destroyed by a monster.

Because “sometimes not getting my way about everything” just doesn’t have the same impact.

Can anyone explain the obsession with “the last 40 years”? 40 years ago was 1972, they mean 50 years at least, if not closer to 60; how do both math and history fail them so epically?

Also, wtf was that screed? I get to “Instead of asking why the militancy one should ask is the militancy legitimate? and the answer is “yes”.” and just hear my childhood self going “why?” and my brother “because!” — but we outgrew that by like 5 >.<

Because it is hard to be nice when you are getting assfucked in court (family to criminal to civil)

I’d assume the MRAs would appreciate the changes Michigan just made to its paternity laws. But I’m sure one will pop up any second now to explain why these changes are actually MISANDRY.

but seriously WTF is this guy’s problem?

I think he blames the ‘evil feminists’ for everything, included his ‘ungraded’ at GCSE English. That was painful to read. I mean, physically painful. I have a headache.

The sentence beginning “Because it is hard to be nice when you are getting assfucked in court” has 129 words in it. Also, if you’re being ‘assfucked’ in court, then something has gone wrong somewhere – or you’re being tried in a pornography studio.

“Assfucked” = “Required to pay (far, far below market rate) for all the housekeeping you’d been receiving and the babysitting you will continue receiving. Also, the children are more likely to be placed with the person who provides their day-to-day care than the person who acts like they’re a part of his ego being stolen away.”

160 years? Holy crap! I mean, I think it’s all crazy! But holy crap! Really? Any attempt to be treated as a human being by women has denigrated men? This really cuts to the heart of it doesn’t it?

Leeloo Dallas Multipass

The femin-sit monster comes from medieval European folklore, and is a sort of dark counterpart to Santa Claus. He’s the one who goes to the homes of bad children, replacing their comfortable chairs with hard ones which hurt their buttocks pads.

It’s like someone took the standard MRA gripes about women (having to support children, disparities in the military, domestic violence,) shook them up and vomited them into a blog. I’m disappointed. With most MRA’s, at least their writing is coherent enough to form a counter point. With this guy, I’m more inclined to grab the baking soda and a rag, to get the verbal diarrhea out of the carpet.

I had to take a fifth breath, but I was almost there in four.

The funny thing is that it reads well, out lout. It’s got that flow, and some good metric structure.

It’s daft, but could make a stirring presentation; so long as one isn’t actually listening for content.

“160 years? Holy crap!”

Yeah about that…he’s wrong there too…more like 220. A Vindication of the Rights of a Woman, 1792 But yeah, by the 1850s the idea that women where fighting for their rights was a pretty well known thing — the rational dress movement is about 160 years old so maybe they meant that? Honestly I think they’re just incapable of googling, but still, bloomers were 1850s fashion, meaning women have worn pants for about 160 years.

What’s my score if I got a quarter of the way through before dissolving into incredibly uncomfortable, embarrassed-for-this-guy-and-his-audience chuckles?

@Leeloo, Thank you for providing us with the origin of the femin-sit monster. Those stories must keep Tom Martin up at night.

3 breaths left me in the bold sentence just before the end. 4th breath finished it off with air to spare.

In the meantime, there’s 1st wave feminism as defined internationally (from the public debates over the rights of women during the aftermath of the French revolution, most famously by Wollstonecraft, but a bit before that by de Gouges) and then again as defined in the US. In the US, it’s typically measured from Seneca Falls, which was in 1849, so yeah – 163 years.

The 2nd wave is typically measured from the publication of the Second Sex by deBeauvoir internationally (the French were always ahead of everyone else on this). In the US, it’s measured from the publication of Feminine Mystique, which, I think, was in 1963. That makes 59 years. Sure it’s closer to 60, but 50 wasn’t a bad round number.

So he isn’t as bone-headed ignorant as some might think. He’s just US-centric and, well, mostly as bone-headed ignorant as some might think.
