Tom Martin’s “anti-male discrimination” case against the London School of Economics dismissed; he responds by calling his critics “whores.”

Hard wooden chairs: Enemy of men?

Tom Martin, a former gender studies student at the London School of Economics, recently became a minor celebrity amongst Men’s Rights activists and other angry men when he sued his alma mater for alleged sexism against men.

He’s now had his case thrown out of court. Let’s go to the Camden New Journal for details:

Tom Martin, 39, who lives in Covent Garden, claimed he suffered “anti-male discrimination” while studying for a master’s degree in gender, media and culture at the world-famous university in Holborn.

Representing himself at his application for a trial at the Central London County Court on Tuesday, Mr Martin complained of a lack of men-only sessions in the university’s gym and the preponderance of posters in the corridors advertising services for women without the presence of similar materials geared towards men.

Mr Martin, who describes himself as a feminist, said “hard” chairs in the library were uncomfortable for men and that a “male blaming culture” was evident in course materials, which “ignored men’s issues” and focused on wrongs done by them.

Damn those misandrist chairs and their man-hating hardness!

The judge didn’t buy it, saying Martin’s case had essentially no chance of success. He threw out the case and ordered Martin to pay LSE’s legal costs.

Martin, welcome to reality.

On Twitter, Martin responded to the news by calling his critics “whores.” One of many examples:

But I was really discriminated against, you whores!

More examples here, and here.

And, yes, his Twitter handle is indeed Sexismbusters.org.

EDITED TO ADD: Actual headline today on What Men are Saying About Women:

Tom Martin Faces Slut-Feminist Judge, Motion Denied..

EDITED AGAIN TO ADD: Tom Martin has replied to this post in the comments. Some highlights:

My legal complaint did NOT involve a complaint about the seating. You have been misled by the press – The Times and the West End Extra/Camden New Journal both mysteriously got it wrong.

One year prior to joining the university, when visiting its library, I did complain, that the seating being hard created a greater disadvantage for men than for women, as men have considerably smaller weight-bearing buttock pads than women, and men are heavier too – so for men, on average heavier than women, have more weight bearing down onto a pad which is approximately four times smaller than women’s on average – according to a BBC documentary on the subject.

He then details his attempts to fight this grave injustice. Also, there’s this:

[S]everal comments here are confusing ‘whore’ with ‘slut’. A slut has sex freely, which I am all for. Freedom of association is the ultimate in humanity. A whore charges for sex. Even if a woman is a virgin, but is waiting for Mr Right to buy her something, she’s a whore.

It’s counter-intuitive, but a lot of professional feminists are whores. They expect the government and men to do them special favours. They make up stories to convince men and government to believe that we all owe women something.

But really, if someone were keeping a tab, then…

Women owe men five years pension.
Women owe men some National Service.
Women owe men some inventions.
Women owe men positive discrimination in university curricula.
Women owe men some child access.
It’s women’s round at the bar too.

For the whole thing, see here.

The entire list is up on his website.

On the contrary, whores feature heavily in the 164 item long A to Z of inequality and discrimination issues faced by men, referenced here:

http://sexismbusters.org/ref1.html

It is not an exhaustive list by any means, just something I put together in a day. I would add, child benefit is automatically paid to the mother (which is obviously sexist).

There are several legal scenarios where a woman automatically receives some financial benefit, where the money etc can legally be transferred to the man, but only “if the mother agrees” – so those situations all need to be equalized.

Remember, the National Union of Students claim men face no discrimination issues:
http://therightsofman.typepad.co.uk/the_rights_of_man/2009/11/only-antimale-feminists-can-oppose-male-groups-and-societies-at-university.html

And the Government Equalities Office homepage takes a similar slant:
http://homeoffice.gov.uk/equalities/

… as did the previous Labour administration, so on balance, go fuck yourselves. You’re part of the scum problem.

Tom, glad you’re back. Can you help me out with the title of this BBC documentary that you keep referring to? (Ideally the broadcast date too, but I can probably cope without that).

I can almost certainly procure a copy for myself, and I’m intrigued to see whether it actually supports your views.

“On the contrary?” Tom, no one doubts that whores feature heavily in every thought you’ve ever had.

The sad part is that he does raise some valid concerns…but there’s so much shit piled on top its not like someone wants to sift.

I think I’ll read up on some of his articles, I just hope he’s given them more thought than his recent posts on various blogs

“It is not an exhaustive list by any means, just something I put together in a day.” A whole day! Imagine what you could have done with more time. Oh right, you have no time. What do you do, anyways, besides enroll in degree programs and drop out after 6 weeks?

You aren’t, by any chance, receiving public aid? Leaching off the work of other men? Oh, right, it’s only whoring if women do it.

Well he is making a documentary too!

Its very serious work, while he is not fighting for the bums of men everywhere he is making a documentary which no one will watch in the end.

Oooh, ooh, here’s some good ones!

Alcohol – a man can be prosecuted if a woman gets drunk then cries rape

When are MRAs going to learn that “the right to have kinda rape, so long as it’s not rape-rape” is a really terrible “right” to be demanding? For guys who claim to be PR-minded, you’d think you’d have learned to stop front-and-centering this one.

Anorexia – blamed on male gaze. Death-rate inflated 3000 fold by victim-fems

haha wut

Apparently men have the right to live in a world where anorexia is not acknowledged as a disease? Or at least one where it’s correctly blamed on whores.

Birth certificates – father’s name not legally required to be listed

Yeah, because sometimes people don’t know.

Childbirth – its risks exaggerated (as excuse to block men’s equality debates)

Poor snookums is so oppressed.

Child custody cases – 7% of UK fathers allowed to live with their children

What the hell ass are you pulling this statistic out of? This is hilarious. At least make up vaguely realistic fake numbers.

Civilization – 90% of patents awarded to men, yet men portrayed negatively

“90% of patents are awarded to men!” “Sexism is dead!”

Oh, but right, it’s not sexism, it’s natural superiority.

Commuting – men travel further than women to get to work

Hahaha yeah, it sure is a bummer having more opportunities to get a job that pays more so it’s worth your while to commute further.

Dating protocols – most women still expect money and gifts from men

Poor snookums. Also, really? Except for actual sex workers, I have yet to meet this mythical woman who gets cash from her boyfriend just for dating him. I think most women would actually be pretty baffled/offended if you showed up to a date with a fistful of twenties and shoved it in their face with a “this is for going out with me.”

Dress codes – Neck-ties typically compulsory for male employees only

I see poor snookums never had to wear heels and hose.

False allegations against men rarely prosecuted, but instead ‘no crimed’

It is no longer enough for MRAs to get away with rape. They want to advance things to the point where women go to jail for being raped.

Historiography – women presented as historically oppressed, and by men

Right, because historically, women just didn’t want to vote, and they really liked how spousal abuse and rape were legal.

Language – negative terms associated with maleness i.e. ‘slugs and snails… ‘

As opposed to WHORE nice friendly WHORE words like WHORE.

Porn – male porn stars body-build to get screen-ready. Females just show up

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

oh my god hahaha

this is amazing

Tennis – men forced to play best of 5 sets where as women play best of 3

Truly, the darkest of all oppressions.

Wigs – men publicly scorned for wearing wigs, whilst women given a pass

I weep for the plight of men.

Wigs? He’s fussing about wigs?

And porn actresses, they never do body maintenance. Nope, there they are on screen, in all their natural, unshaven, unmoisturized, unmade-up, and certainly unsiliconed, beauty. Also, no STD testing.

I was thinking he got all his info about women’s behaviour from porn, but now I wonder if he’s ever seen any.

Childbirth – its risks exaggerated (as excuse to block men’s equality debates)

UmMm…exactly how many cis men have died giving birth? How many cis men have suffered life altering or life threatening medical conditions while pregnant? Last I read on stats in canada, maternal death rate was 1 in 200 I think. Places like Liberia, 1 in 12.

Its sooo oppressing to know that there are still risks involved in pregnancy, despite the advances in medicine.

Ha ha ha. The references for his whining about porn and how unfair it is to men are links to Susan Faludi’s book Stiffed, on Amazon. Not even a page reference.

No wonder he was able to put the list together in a day.

Porn – male porn stars get paid nine times less than female porn stars[106]

Porn – female porn stars can choose male co-stars, but males get no choice[106]

Porn – male porn stars body-build to get screen-ready. Females just show up[106]

Oh, Tom, Tom, which BBC documentary was it that cited the research on buttock pads? Title please, I’m dying to know more.

I’m also very miffed you didn’t consider my idea of running for Parliament. Even bony-backsided backsliding backbenchers get cushy seating in the House of Commons; it would suit your smaller-on-average buttock pads real beaut.

Oh, wow. I go up north for the weekend and, sure enough, he turns up. This whole thread has been jaw-dropping and hilarious.

I’m intrigued by this whole “If you’ve ever received anything from a man, you’re a whore” thing. My husband bought me dinner on Saturday night, and I in turn treated him to a pub lunch today. Am I still a whore for letting him pay for dinner? Is he a whore for my paying for lunch? Does it cancel out? Should we be keeping a whore tally?

I actually really want to do this now. I might go and chalk up a table on the blackboard in the kitchen. Maybe whoever gets the most whore points by the end of the month can get a prize! Fun!

I’m more interested in finding out how the abolition of prostitution reduces “male-on-male competition”. Do former sex workers run around sleeping with everyone for free because of leprechaun wishes?

Womens issues tv programs and talkshows but non for men.

Gee, I thought women just sat around gibble gabbling all day when men are out there doing important things.

Doctor offices open 9 to 5 but men can’t get in because they are doing manly work. Yeah…cause no woman works, does late shifts or overtime.

Tennis – men forced to play best of 5 sets where as women play best of 3

I just love that he says “forced,” like men are out there on the court about to collapse with exhaustion, and the ref or whoever is going “No rest until you finish this set!” (Maybe if they really hate playing sets, they shouldn’t play tennis?)

And if wigs and tennis are all you got, well…

Also, why the little blue numbers next to his “issues” because when I click on them, only one article comes up.

I’ve got an addition to Tom’s list:

Music: Women sing on the treble clef, which is the “normal” clef that kids learn in music class and most instruments play on. Men have to use a whole different clef.

Tom, feel free to use that one!
