Finally, a thread where I’m not so far behind the conversation that commenting just seem like I’ll be retreading what all the other awesome posters have already said.
Anyways, long-time lurker and I love the site.
And I miss my kitties. I’m at the South Pole for 9 months, so my parents took them in.

My friend rescued a cocker spaniel after Hurricane Katrina. Here she is, watching us eat pistachios and REALLY hoping we’ll give her one. She is just the sweetest.

Reindeerkitty would try to pull the headdress off as soon as I’d put it on, and then I’d readjust it, and then he’d try to pull it off again, and so on. He also had a Santa hat, but I don’t have any good pics of that since we thought the horns were cuter and thus made him wear them more often.

Sadly reindeerkitty passed away last year, so no need. I miss him a lot.
ugh i wish i had pictures of waffles and clover on this computer so i could post them at all of you. no, they are/(were, in waffles’ case) not cats, but they are super adorable anyway.

that is clover. sadly, as i said, i have no pictures of either on this computer. waffles looked similar, although with far less gray (she died last december of an inoperable heart tumor at the tender age of eight.)
they were/are half-golden/half-black lab. clover basically looks like a blend of the two (she could pass for a flat-coat retriever) but waffles somehow managed to always look like an incredibly sheepish bear cub
Oh labs, and lab mixes, are my favorite dogs. And incredibly sheepish bear cubs are my super-duper extra credit favorites. Sorry you lost waffles so young, that’s very sad.
yeah, as my dad loves to say, they inherited the unthinking loyalty of a golden and the unthinking neediness of a black lab. dumbest dogs ever, but so fucking adorable.
thanks. it was hard losing waffles, but at least she wasn’t in pain for that long. it was worst on my dad, because the two of them were bff and she died less than a week before his birthday. 🙁

Indeed! I am all about the dogs. (I am also all about the cats, although if I had to pick, dogs win by a (cute, soft) nose. I like both a lot, but cats make me sneeze more.)
