Men’s Rights Redditors to Rebecca Watson: How dare you say we hate women, you [obscene gender-related slur]

NOTE: Today is Day Two of the Man Boobz Pledge Drive. If you haven’t already, please consider clicking the little button below and sending a few bucks my way.

Thanks! (And thanks again to all who’ve already donated.) Now back to our regularly scheduled programming:

So the other day, the atheist blogger Rebecca Watson, aka Skepchick, had this little conversation on Twitter:

Watson, you may recall, got herself onto the Men’s Rights radar a few months back, after a brief comment she made in a podcast — suggesting that perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea for a guy to hit on woman he’s never spoken to before while the two of them are alone in an elevator at 4 AM – somehow turned into a Big Fucking Thing on the Internet, because how dare she say such a thing, it’s creep-shaming, she must hate men, bla bla bla.

So, anyhoo, one Men’s Rights Reddit noticed this little Twitter exchange, and posted it to the Men’s Rights subreddit. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. MRAs hating women? How dare she suggest such a thing!

Here are some of the things that assorted Men’s Rights Redditors posted in response, to remind us all that the Men’s Rights movement isn’t all about shitting on women. Let’s start with this lovely rebuttal, boasting nearly 60 net upvotes:

This comment inspired a long and winding discussion of the word “cunt,” and why it’s like totally ok to use it all the time, because in England the UK people call men “cunts” as well.

Some got a little carried away:

This little exchange came with a side order of irony:

Speaking of fantasy, here’s a strange bit of paranoia, which nonetheless drew upvotes from the very same people who are outraged that Watson was a bit creeped out by a dude she didn’t know asking her to come to his hotel room at 4 AM:

And here’s still more evidence that MRAs, despite their many egregious flaws, do at least have vivid imaginations:

Some other comments, all of which got at least a few upvotes from the MR regulars:

Funny how most of feminism is shitting on men and generally being a cunt under the guise of empowerment and “equality.”

She should do something about that uni-brow.

She’s only in the atheist community to give her a broader audience for her hateful attention whoring.

Let’s end with this eloquent plea for people to not give a shit if MRAs hate women:

The folks in the Men’s Rights subreddit are currently debating whether or not to change the subreddit’s slogan, which is currently: “Mens’ Rights: Earning Scorn from Bigoted Feminists and White Knights Since 2008.”

So let me humbly suggest:

Mens’ Rights: Like it’s even relevant if mens rights is anti women in regard to if mens rights is a movement about addressing mens issues.

Or the even punchier:

Men’s Rights: i’m tired of not using the term “cunt”.

MRAs, you’re welcome.

So, does ANYONE have a rebuttal for “Obamacare is sexist etc.”? Not smoke, not mirrors, not personal attacks, not cheap videos, but real data?

Obama’s health care plan is not sexist. Done.

I know you’re trying, Zarat, but you’ve got nothing on the troll on Pharyngula who complained that health care was misandrist because it covers “women’s health for boobs and stuff.” Later clarified as “boobs and all the vagina parts and whatever.”

I demand the return of Sci-Fi Zarat! Tell us more about your plans to replace your FOREIGN WIFE with a VIDEO GAME LADY!

Back to the original topic, I don’t know why bigots hate being called bigots no matter how bigoted they act, but they do. Even the great nutball cartoonist Dave “If you look at her and see anything besides emptiness, fear and emotional hunger, you are looking at the parts of yourself which have been consumed to that point” Sim gets all mad if you suggest he might be kind of a misogynist.

One of these days I’ve got to get around to making that Devouring Rapacious Female Void T-shirt.

It is possible that, unlike all the fools on this board, you may have read Obamacare. I read all 907 pages in about 6 hours — it is written in huge font, so it goes quickly.

No you did not. The huge font version is 2,409 pages. The non-huge font version is 906.

I don’t happen to know Zarat’s wife, so I can’t speak for her by any means; but if I lived with my husband in the country where he grew up, especially if I lived there long enough to be the mother of two, I would probably prefer he not refer to me as his FOREIGN WIFE instead of, y’know, just his wife. Caps optional. Why are my silly fingers hitting the Post Comment button so much today? I’ll try to be careful from now on!

I’ll check bask in one hour, in case anyone has a legitimate rebuttal.

Fine ya big baby:

1) Male birth control (including vasectomy) is not covered by Obamacare.

Contact your medical insurance company and discuss your health insurance coverage, as most insurance programs include vasectomy. In such cases, the majority of the associated vasectomy costs will be paid through the insurance. The out-of-pocket cost to you could be only a small co-pay or deductible amount. I bet you cannot guess which ones do not (hint, they tend to be religious ones.) And Sec. 2713(a)(1) covers it as it specifies preventative care.

2) Female birth control (including tubal ligation) is covered by Obamacare.

It is not specified. If one looks through all of the pages, does a search, one does not find anything saying “female birth control is covered.” What the statute does say is this:
‘‘(4) with respect to women, such additional preventive care and screenings not described in paragraph (1) as provided for in comprehensive guidelines
supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration for purposes of this paragraph.”

Do you know why it had to be covered? Because it was not. In fact for decades birth control medication was not at all covered. Vasectomies were (and viagra.) It was not until 2000 that it was ruled to be part of preventative care in fact. EEOC decision

3) Insurance companies are not permitted to charge men and women differently.

Why should they? No seriously, why should Insurance company A charge a woman twice what they charge a man? Because they have the occasional need like giving birth? That makes little sense as men have non-equivalent but equally costly care.

Presto! Socialized medicine, without the stigma! Bravo! You fooled America, but you did not fool the MRM.

Socialized medicine would be if Medicare/caid was turned into a single third party payer system. I know you are kind of dumb Anthony but even for you this is stupid.

Women only PRIVILEGES outlined in Obamacare (a few examples):
1) Birth control for women, but not for men

Demonstrably false.

2) Sterilization for women, but not for men

Also false.

3) Smoking cessation for women, but not for men

Title IV, Sec. 4001, Sec. 4201, Sec. 4202, Sec. 4206, Sec. 4217, etc. cover community efforts to reduce smoking. None of them state “women only.” They state community. Despite your desire to have men and women living in two parts of the country, they do not. They live in communities. Men and women are covered under this bill to have efforts to reduce their smoking.

4) STD treatment for women, but not form men

Under Sec. 513, there is a goal of doing “personal responsibility” which means that boys/men and girls/women are covered.

5) Cancer vaccine for girls, but not for boys

HPV vaccines? Since the government recommends it insurance companies will be required to provide it under the first section I mentioned.

6) Violence prevention for women, but not for men

Sec. 10213 covers this and is essentially to help those who have been denied coverage because being hit meant that they had a pre-existing condition. I think, and I may be wrong, you knew that this was going on because it hit the news in a pretty big way.

7) Breast health for women, but no prostate health for men

I am guessing this is Part V, Sec. 399NN, Sec. 10413 you are kvetching about?
The National Cancer Institute already has this covered.
Fact sheet on the issue
“Due to the widespread implementation of PSA screening in the United States, more than 90 percent of all prostate cancers are diagnosed at an early stage. Whether this earlier detection actually reduces the number of prostate cancer deaths is controversial and is being studied in two ongoing randomized clinical trials―the NIH-sponsored Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian screening trial and the European Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer. Initial results from these trials, published in 2009, showed that PSA screening produced, at best, only a small reduction in the number of prostate cancer deaths. This benefit, however, came at a cost: Many more cancers were diagnosed and treated in the screened group than in the control (unscreened) group. These findings suggest that PSA screening can lead to the diagnosis and treatment of some prostate cancers that will not cause symptoms or threaten a man’s life, phenomena known as overdiagnosis and overtreatment (i.e., unnecessary treatment). The major side effects of prostate cancer treatment include urinary incontinence and sexual impotence.”

By the way, I also pointed out that one of your other whining about women having a study on the effects of abortion, birth, adoption that yes, there should be a study on the effects on men (despite the lack of their really dealing with the actual rammifications like women have to-physical, mental, work.) Right there is proof positive that men are getting the same kind of studies. Oh the horror.

It is getting boring around here. Still nothing.

BTW, Obamacare has nothing to do with healthcare. It isabout POWER. It puts enormous power in the hands of vile feminist ideologues. Health care is the trojan horse inside of which the feminist bigots sneak their way through every crack of government, insinuating their evil poison into the bloodstream of America.

Proof: Count the number of new “women’s expert” institutes, comissions, offices, and departments that are created by Obamacare. I already know the number, but I am wondering of any of the brain dead sexist fem-bots on this board can add. Whoever proves that she/he can add will match the duck queen, and bring the score to 134 for the MRM versus 2 for bigoted feminists.

Even if I were a man who believed in the MRA cause (not that I don’t believe in masculine studies or things like that, though as far as I can tell they all fit perfectly with feminism), I don’t think I could handle all their pedo apologetics. it always ends up there. Crazy bitches get old and jealous and want to limit men’s rightful ‘supply’ of young girls. And talk long enough and they get younger. Gross.

David, can you unstick my last comment…not sure why I bothered but why not? So Antz can finally realise he is a twit and slink away.

It appears Antsy has come up with The Foolproof Plan For MRA Victory Over The Feminism.

1) Come up with a scoring system.
2) Make points within that scoring system.
3) Ignore rational rebuttals outside that scoring system.
4) ???
5) Women and men divide the earth with one boundary defined along the Mississippi river and the other I guess is the Caspian Sea or something.

These games are so much easier to win when you write the rules and are the only referee. Why didn’t we feminists come up with it? I would say The Ladybrainz but I’m a dude so it must just be Antsy’s superior intellect, no doubt helpfully supported with slavish obedience by his FOREIGN BRIDE. What happened to the last one, I wonder? Did she stroll down to the COURTHOUSE one day and get a DIVORCE? Or did Antsy kick her out for a LATVIAN WOMAN or possibly a BENGALI?

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Even when he kinda-sorta admitted to being a twit, he didn’t go away.

I know that in MRA-world, this kind of histrionic talk gets you a lot of brownie points , but outside, people will just laugh at you and rightly so.

It’s what all those new women’s health centers and offices will be for. They will use the Feminist IV drips to infect every woman in the US with misandry liquid, which they will then secrete when they sweat. Eventually this drives every man in the country to suicide.
